(SPOILER) The Associated Press Report on the Angel Guest Star Situation. Pretty much what was said before, just the official report.

"Sarah Michelle Gellar won't appear in the series finale of "Angel," the spinoff of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" in which she played the title role."

Just the official A.P. report about the SMG/Angel situation. Again, just pretty much what was said before.

thats still the stupidest thing i have heard in a while. he didnt want the finale 2 revolve around a guest star, but it was okay for buffy, which was in my opinion a better show. once again, a very big dissapointment. i know he didnt want people to know who was going to be around at the end, but he kept saying he wanted her, and it would be great to have her blah blah blah. why not tell us this statement from the beginning...............
Norman, did you even read the article? It just was about schedules not matching up. He would've had her in the second-last, but she wasn't available, and by the time she was available for the last one, the one before that was already done, and to suddenly throw her in the last one would've have made no sense in the story anymore. I can see that. It just didn't work out.

It's a pity on one hand, but on the other I'm fine with it. I mainly wanted her reaction to seeing Spike alive. But that by itself is no reason for her to show up. And with Angel, I think they pretty much said it all with the cookie dough talk anyway.

Probably no chance of Faith showing up with Eliza in Tru's schedule. So now it'll probably be Tom Lenk, maybe Dawn, and perhaps Willow? (I can do without Dawn, btw. She has no history with the characters on Angel)
Willow would be great as a guest star and a great representative for Buffy if Buffy can't be there. Giles would be too but Willow has a history with Angel because she's guest starred before and Faith coming would also be a plus.

And I don't think anyone is to blame here for the timing. SMG couldn't do it when they were filming and it doesn't make any sense just to throw her in to have her in the final episode. She had initially said she wouldn't do it and they wrote the rest of the scripts for the rest of the season and then the WB decided not to renew Angel for next year. There were only about four episodes left to film by the time that happened and the plot for the season was already well established. I'm sure if they had had more time to manuever stuff they could've found a time that SMG would've been available but there just wasn't any time at all.

I'm just going to sit back and try and enjoy the remaining episodes of Angel. It's been a great season so far and I'm sure I won't be disappointed in the end.
Yeah me too. And I hope that just like with Buffy, it is shown that the characters' stories go on, even if we don't see them. I like the thought of Buffy and Giles running this global watcher organisation. Angel and the rest should have that too. They go on. And who knows how they might be revisited in the future.

Just have the whole 'verse continue, is all I ask.

(Well that and that they don't shanshu or kill either Angel or Spike)
*VERY DEEP SIGH*. Sorry, I did it again. That last post is mine. My wife was logged in. Who knew?? She doesn't tell me stuff.
Maybe if you should combine your two screen names. RogueDantes? EdSlayer? I dunno :p.
We should start a pool and wager on which character will end up dead after the finale...Because you know it is going to happen...
Funny, most TV cliffhangers/finales are "Who is going to die?" but with Ats the question could be "Who is going to become alive again?"
ahh im just bitter. i will be until way after the finale is over.......
"Maybe if you should combine your two screen names. RogueDantes? EdSlayer? I dunno :p.

Hehe yeah but we don't ALWAYS agree. Seriously, sorry. Yet again....

"We should start a pool and wager on which character will end up dead after the finale...Because you know it is going to happen...

Well since they were planning S6 and said they're not really changing anything I'm not really expecting any deaths. Besides Fred's already a casualty, I think I've had my fill of tragedy for this season.
