Buffy actor gets nominated for an Oscar. Jason Hall, who played Devon MacLeish (lead singer of Dingoes Ate My Baby) on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, got nominated in the Best Adapted Screenplay category for 'American Sniper'. In related Whedonverse news, Mark Ruffalo got nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in 'Foxcatcher'.

Oz: "Well, other bands know more than three chords. Your professional bands can play up to six, sometimes seven completely different chords."

Devon: "That's just, like, fruity jazz bands."
Go Devon uh I mean Jason!

I really hope Mark wins.

Also, Benedict (Strange!) but I honestly think one of the others is most likely the winner (Eddie Redmayne especially noting the response). I have yet to see any of them myself but the Oscars have been as predictable as the PCAs.
Yay Devonnnn!! Good for him. :-)
Great news!

Saw The Imitation Game and it was wonderful even if the portrayal played with his relationships a bit. Friday I see Theory of Everything.
Good for him, though I hated American Sniper. That's over 2 hours of my life I'll never get back.

Also, Meryl Streep, whom Joss referenced "The Art," was nominated this year as well.

Yes I totally just went there.
There's a lot of talk about The Avengers in Birdman.
Ed Norton and Mark Ruffalo both play(ed) Hulk, and are both nominated in the same category.

Worlds collide.
