Christian Kane's "The Librarians" renewed for a second season. The renewal is for 10 episodes.

Is it any good?
I find it aimed toward a very young/family audience. It wasn't for me.
I tried to watch the show found it underwhelming. Couldn't get into it at all.
I enjoy it when I'm out of stuff I have to catch up with, and I try to watch more than 1 episode at a time. It has its nice moments but mostly the cheesy kind with still under developed characters - I honestly liked the Librarian movies so checked it out, and stuck around to find out two (of the none main characters) mysterious back story - which we kinda did. And I guess it was a bit underwhelming but there seems to be more to the story.

I appreciate the focus on knowledge and skill - guess its the message of the show.

Kane's character I actually like - he's one of the more rounded ones for me. I don't think I'm going to stop watching it but it's not a must see for me, it can wait.

Agent Carter on the other hand...
I highly enjoy this show. It's a ton of fun in a Warehouse 13 sort of way. For the most part, it doesn't take itself seriously, which is why I think it works for me.
If it was trying to be serious, I think it would lose some of the charm that I see in it.
It's silly, but fun.
LOUiE - thank heavens for you! I was starting to think I was the only one. I agree that the levity with which it approaches the subject matter is part of what makes it wonderful.
The secret is to not think too much about it. It is B-TV goodness, and Kane is the best part.
I tried watching it. When you decide to turn it off in the middle of the Christmas episode with Bruce Campbell in it, and never come back, you know the only way any of the actors can go from there is up.
I enjoy it. It's from the people who did Leverage, which was a very good show. This isn't quite as good, but it has a lot of elements that I like. Hopefully the elements will gel as the show continues.
I haven't seen it, hit my younger sister said it reminded her of Doctor Who (which for her, is high praise).
It very much has a Warehouse 13 vibe (even though I think it came first with the movies...) and was tons of fun. Like a lot of shows in a similar vein, I'm hoping with more seasons we'll get to enjoy it moving from completly frivilous to only mostly frivilous.
I enjoy the heck out of this show. It's absolutely meant to be campy, pulp-favored supernatural action. That happens to be one of my favorite things, but I can understand why it doesn't appeal to everyone.
I also think the second season will be much stronger - not unlike, say some shows about Slayers and vampires I've heard about ... ;)
