Here's what Joss isn't doing next. Star Wars or Wonder Woman, more blank slate stuff, but some really nice quotes.

Nice article. But isn't it a bit weird that they're talking about Wonder Woman after it got taken away from him?

And isn't it gratifying that he's gone from "that guy whose stuff gets cancelled" to "that guy who's so awesome we can't help speculating about what he's gonna do next because it will no doubt be so totally awesome"?
Yes it is very gratifying indeed.
While I do hope he rests and spends some more time doing things he hasn't had a chance to do, if I were a betting man, I'd give it three weeks (once he's truly able to relax) at most before he has an idea he's in love with, and 3 months at most before he starts some sort of action on it.

I mean, this is the guy who made Much Ado About Nothing for fun during a one month break he was given.
Since not much can probably be done with "Dr Horrible 2" until next year's TV hiatus when Nathan Fillion has free time on his schedule again (this year's hiatus will be taken up with "Con Man"), I hope Joss will write some episodes for next season of Agents of SHIELD, and hopefully write an arc or two for the Buffy comics, or maybe the next Fray installment.
I'm just rolling around in what Jocelyn said. What's nice - whatever he does next - it's going to do well and will very easily gain backers - if he even wants that kind of support.

Very cool indeed.

And I hope we get some Joss AofS scripts.
Since someone mentioned Con Man, Joss making an appearance on Con Man as a version of himself or even someone different would be brilliant. His role on Husbands is still something really fun to rewatch.
It would be cool to see Joss direct a Star Wars film, but I think one of the standalone spin-off's might be a better fit then a main episode. There might be more creative freedom plus the rumor is that while J.J. Abrams is stitting out Episode VIII(Rian Johnson is directing that),he may be coming back to direct Episode IX.

PS

That second The Force Awakens trailer still has me in Nirvana.
Personally, I'd love any Joss series on Netflix. I feel like it's the perfect venue for him, even more than cable these days.
I'm starting to wonder if "Wonder Woman" will ever be filmed. Quite a shame considering they have an excellent actress in the lead role. I so wish we knew Joss' plans on that character. Chances lost.

As for "Star Wars", run! Run as fast as you can.
Joss for Captain Marvel
Whatever the next movie is that Joss directs, I hope it's something I've never heard of before.
Someone asked Scarlett Johansen about a Black Widow movie and she said she'd do it if Joss directed. I'm ok with that.
Madhatter, if you're willing to do some research, I believe that details do exist from people who've read the leaked script.
*whispers* Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff ;)
Andrew, has a second Fray mini-series been hinted at recently, or is that purely wishful thinking on your part ? I could really go for a second helping of it, now that you've reminded me of it.

So far behind on the Buffy comics--haven't read any since the end of Season 8. Even further behind on Angel comics--have maybe the last third or quarter of IDW's run to read (stack of hardcovers and trades in my room), haven't seen Dark Horse's second run at it yet. Dunno if I'll ever get back into the Buffyverse.

More than Dr. Horrible 2, things I most wanna see from Joss are episodes of Agents of SHIELD (or its spin-off). And whatever film he wants to do next. Ideally, an original creation of his that wildly succeeds so that he can still have the cred and studio $ to make whatever he wants. Also wanna see him live well into his senior years and still be creating, so maybe take a nice long vacation, Joss ?

It's wishful thinking on my part. I know Scott Allie has said Dark Horse would never do any Frayverse stuff unless Joss wrote it himself.

We got the "Time of Your Life" arc in season 8 and the short story in Tales of the Slayers. At the end of ToYL the Frayverse was left in kind of a cliffhanger state, wondering what effect Buffy's actions would have on that time period. I don't know if Joss ever intends to get back to that or if he does, maybe as an epilogue when he's ready to close the book on the Slayerverse altogether.
