Wonderfalls gets permanent Thursday timeslot according to The Futon Critic. Common sense seems to have prevailed for once in TV lalala land.

Not really a good move according to some, just a tv bit @ nj.com - "Thursdays at 9: where off-beat midseason dramas go to die. This week, Fox will shift "Wonderfalls" to that cruel, cruel slot to face off against "CSI" and "The Apprentice." And in mid-April, ABC will dump the ailing "Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital" onto the Thursday at 9 slab."
I think the general perception is that a Tru Calling/Wonderfalls pairing will work despite airing against these two popular shows. And doesn't The Apprentice finish in a couple of weeks anyhow?
I'm taping both CSI and The Apprentice, and that's all my DVR can do at once. I might watch Wonderfalls in the back room, but at this point I may just wait until The Apprentice is over to check it out again.
Oh my goodness, a reality show is really getting cancelled?? It's a miracle!! They usually just let them play out, no matter how hideous the ratings. This is a good sign for the TV landscape, and thankfully I don't watch anything Thursdays at 9, so the move works for me.
Woo! I feel like skipping around! They cancelled a crappy reality tv show! AHA HA HA HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!! I don't care if it's facing off against (dime a dozen cop show) CSI and Apprentice (ugly mophead Trump). Wonderfalls, paired with Tru, has to do better than in the Friday slot.

And now I can watch Touching Evil on USA on Friday.

My God, I have no social life. This is bad. Very bad.
I like the Thursday slot. Except for 'Angel' my weeknights are totally wide open, but on Fridays I do enjoy going out occasionally (as I did last week, which forced me to record WF and mar an otherwise spotless tape with annoying commercials). This move will allow what exists of my social life to not be cramped. I'm feeling big with the yayness about that, and any small sign that Fox might be registering love for WF with the change.

Maybe I'll even throw their marketing a bone and give 'Tru' another chance.
For your sake, cubiclesatan, and for those who are fans of Wonderfalls, I hope you're right. Personally, I think that facing off against (Number 1 show on TV) CSI and The Apprentice (ratings phenomenon that will only increase towards the finale) will be tough.

That said, it is obvious that Tru Calling and Wonderfalls are a much better pairing. I am glad to be wrong about Tru Calling keeping its head above water after facing Friends and All-Star Survivor. That is absolutely impressive. So Wonderfalls, which has such incredible critical acclaim, may be able to do the same thing.
So....finally a crappy reality show gets the axe. Personally I don't see why it was any worse than The Apprentice. I expected that one to go down as well, but apparently not. I guess richer-than-god Donald Trump's wish to be a TV celeb is actually coming true. Must be because he's such a great, talented and charismatic guy. Right. Or his hair. Right.

Or maybe it's not him, but the bunch of insufferably self absorbed Wall Street yuppies with their little contest of uber-arrogance and fake wholesomeness that are really stealing people's hearts.

Don't mind me. Still bitter that Angel and Firefly get axed, yet this stuff.....

Anyway I do think it's interesting that people were angry at Fox for putting Wonderfalls on friday, it being the Time Slot of Death, yet now complain it's on thursday. It's gotta be on SOMEtime. And I think Tru with Wonderfalls back to back might work. Same type of crows may like both shows. I watch both, but am crazy about neither. Wonderfalls is better, but Tru has Eliza. Hmmmmm....
Well I'm bumming. Not about Wonderfalls but about Kingdom. Why'd they have to get moved to compete against each other? Not that it's that great, I'm just watching it out of sentimental attachment to the Lars von Trier original. But still. Ya got 7 nights in a week and 3 possible timeslots each night. Harrumph.
I did voice concern in an earlier post about the move to Thursday because I don't think it's healthy to bounce a show around. It's hard for the audience to find it, especially a new show. And then to put it up against two ratings winners kind of sucks. But hopefully if they feel it did better on the Thursday night they showed it on then it's regular night, hopefully it will pay off.
So is this official news on the switching Wonderfalls to Thursday? Because I thought they were only testing it out.
Electricspacegirl - it was going to be a "test" move, but it was confirmed as a permanent time change by zap2it I believe.

EdDantes - agree with you there. Wonderfalls much much better show than Tru, which I basically watch for Eliza's sake.
"Tru Calling" hasn't performed spectacularly on Thursday nights, and Fox hasn't shown any signs of letting it go just yet, so I'm taking this as a good sign. "Wonderfalls" is interesting and fun, but I'm not completely sold on it yet. Maybe it's the similarity to "Joan of Arcadia" (which I initially loved but which is already starting to feel a little tired). Maybe it's that what seems to be the basic premise of the show, that inanimate objects talk to Jaye, hasn't gotten a lot of play since the pilot. I don't know. We're only three episodes in. I'd be disappointed if Fox gave it the ax just because it can't beat ratings juggernauts on other networks, but I wouldn't be heartbroken like I was with other series like "Miracles" and especially "Firefly".

I like it, but I'm not sold. Thursdays could be good for it. And "Touching Evil" does look interesting, from what I saw of it last week.
