Avengers: Age Of Ultron: Extended Edition? A report claims that Amazon UK sent out an email saying an extended edition and an alternative ending will be included on Blu-ray and DVD. It should be noted that there is no mention of these details on the Amazon site itself.

So the thing that didn't happen for the first one is now happening with this one? Cool.

I really need to get my hands on a new BR player in time for this since I sold my previous one last December.
I doubt this is true. But did anyone see Joss' tweet about investigating the Buffy blu-ray issue?
Joss on director's cuts circa the first Avengers: "I believe very strongly in putting the director's cut into the theaters. I believe that the director's cut is the best movie for the studio and the best version of the movie for the audience. Iíve never really been in a situation where I had to pull the beating heart out of something that I did."
Joss has mentioned there were some scenes that were cut for time that he would have liked to keep in the film. Although Marvel don't have a track record of releasing any extended versions, do they?
They are available for pre-ordering on the Amazon UK site but there's no mention of extended/alternate endings. So I've tweaked the entry. It reminds me of that rumour about the first Avengers movie get an extended version screening in the cinemas.
I'm dubious about this report but in this case I hope it's true. So much goes on in the film that I think the rumoured 40 minutes longer version might allow for more changes of pace. Even if it doesn't work I'd be very happy to be able to enjoy 40 more minutes of Joss/Avengers goodness as a movie cut rather than just as a set of deleted scenes.
YES PLEASE!
I'm torn because I'll always take more Joss, but he's made his stance on Director's Cuts pretty clear. I don't want to watch a version that he doesn't feel is "his" film.

That being said, many of the complaints about Age of Ultron (from the reviews I've read, as I haven't been able to see the movie yet) state that certain pieces feel missing to truly flesh out the plot and tie things together.

I will say this though, I've watched all the deleted scenes from The Avengers and I do think half of those scenes were rightly removed. I didn't like the Maria Hill stuff that was originally supposed to bookend the film. So there's certainly plenty of examples where MORE movie isn't necessarily better. I'll just have faith in Joss that he didn't gut his own film.
You could maybe put the Thor stuff back in (there's more Thor stuff, right?) and more Blackwidow, but overall I think the movie needs to be the movie.
There was talk of extended versions of the first one, Thor 2, Guardians, and now this, and none of them ended up happening. I think this would be even less likely than the others, but if it is true I'll be very happy. Often deleted scenes just bore me or make me upset that they weren't included in the movie to begin with.

Probably it is just a wording mistake abot naming the deleted BR scenes.
You could maybe put the Thor stuff back in (there's more Thor stuff, right?)

Amen to that!! Thor was my hero while I was growing up, must see more!
Joss said in some interview recently, as well, that there's not going to be a separate "director's cut" of this one either, but there will be deleted scenes.
So if there is indeed going to be an extended cut, which there most likely won't, it won't have been his idea.
I think it would do the movie justice. It truly feels like a might-have-been excellent sequel IMO.
What I find odd about that is that Screen Crush removed that bit where they said it came from Reddit. And that don't Amazon emails usually say the name of the account holder rather than "Dear Amazon.co.uk customer"? Also it's pretty depressing that all the usual suspects are now repeating all of this as fact.
