Alexa Davalos ("Gwen") close to "Riddick" spin-off
KYRA (Sci Fi, New!) - In addition to the projects announced at its upfront presentation yesterday (read the story), Sci Fi is apparently close to a deal for a small screen spin-off of the upcoming Universal feature "The Chronicles of Riddick." The project would focus on Alexa Davalos' character as she joins a band of mercenaries in a search for her mentor. "Riddick" stars Vin Diesel and writer/director David Twohy are set to executive produce the TV series should it go forward.
I am so happy about that, I loved Pitch Black, I loved Gwen, I love Alexa Davalos and I can't wait for Chronicles of Riddick to be released - if a TV show starring her is able to top it all off - that would just be friggin fantastic
This is turning out as good as the Buffyverse :D

I really miss Gwen. I wish we could've gotten at least one more appearance out of her. I almost wanna say "Kate too", but her storyline had an arc and wrapped up nicely. Gwen was just sorta randomly involved in two episodes after her introductory ep (just three in total, right?) and then they dropped her. I thought she had ten times more chemistry with Gunn than Fred did.

her character did a complete 180 degrees, and it's kind of refreshing to see a female character have a hope for the future

Yeah, "Kate" really dropped off the radar when she became a regular on LAW AND ORDER!
