Danny Strong signs overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV. Under the pact, he'll continue to serve as an EP, writer and director on 'Empire', and will also develop, write, direct and supervise new projects for the studio.

Hooray for Jonathan! Who would have guessed, way back then, how he would distinguish himself?

I really need to get back to watching Empire. I watched the 1st DVD disk (3 or 4 episodes?) a couple months ago and really enjoyed it.

Speaking of which, does anyone know what's going on with Taraji P. Henson? I was reading rumors of her being taken off the show. I thought she was doing a pretty amazing job, and so different from her role in Person of Interest (where I think everyone fell in love with her -I know I did).
Wow. Good for him. I know at the con in 2005 he was talking about developing projects. Glad to hear things are working out for him - he's talented, creative, and an all-around great guy.
I didn't watch the last season but Taraji IS the show so those rumors are probably clickbait bullshit. She won a 2016 Golden Globe and a 2015 NAACP entertainer of the year. 20th would never take her off the show unless it was at her request.
Congrats for Danny, he's one of my favorite writers.

Would it be selfless on my part if I wished he did something else? I just wish....
Thanks, IrrationaliTV. I was wondering if that was the case, especially when that "news" seemed to disappear.

Madhatter, what sort of something else? Something, say, genre-ish? I certainly wouldn't mind! On the other hand, the political stuff he did was so good! My mom and I were yelling at the TV during "Recount"!
Madhatter Jocelyn : Well, Danny did to the screen adaptation of one of those "Mockingbird Tattoo" books or whatever they're called, so he'll do something if he's hired for it. He's not really very familiar with genre stuff in the sense it's not one of his interests in private life. (He didn't even know who Frodo was when that was mentioned in a BtVS script.)
DaddyCatALSO Are you talking about the Hunger Games series? (Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay)
ShadowQuest I'm pretty sure those were what I meant. I know Danny was tapped to screenplay for a book in an s-f- type series, and it was one quite outside the ones with which I'm familiar.
