Riley to take Freddies' place? Just a quick note on the possible Scooby Doo sequel.

It says here that since Freddie Prince did not sign on for a Third movie that they may replace him with Marc Blucas, who played Riley in Buffy. Also mentions SMG not signing as well.

Marc Blucas would be perfect!!!!!!Much better than the card-board Prinz
This is a surprise since financially the second film is bombing, it's only made 64 million so far in almost 3 weeks of release - they're 20 million shy of the cost to make the first one and about 30-40 million shy of making back just the cost to make this one to still be contemplating making a third - I think it's just speculation at this point. However Blucas is definitely a better choice body type wise than Prinze was.
I also think Blucas fits the look way better than Freddie. I think we were discussing this very thing awhile back that he would've been great in the role.
As anyone who's seen Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back knows, Marc Blucas makes a far better Freddie. He resembled the cartoon character more, to me he comes off as more lovably goofier (and I think they had him wearing the trademark scarf, which is suspiciously absent from the Prinze version of Freddie). For those who don't know what I'm talking about, the two titular characters in Jay & Silent Bob encounter a group of people who are dressed like and look like the original Scooby gang, have a great dane dog ("stoner boner". Ew, but also haw haw!), and are driving around in a van that looks suspiciously like the Mystery Machine (or whatever the Scooby Doo gang's van was called). It was kinda hilarious, and those few minutes of screen time ended up being ten times more entertaining than any of the actual Scooby Doo movie (though to be fair, I haven't seen the sequel yet).

i liked both the scooby doo movies so far, but i am glad SMG is not coming back for the 3rd one. i think she can do better movies than those, even though they are for kids.
Was that Marc Blucas in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back?! I didn't know who he was when I saw that. I remember thinking how much more like the original those brief moments of screen time seemed than the actual movie remake did. He made a great Freddie.
I haven't seen that movie but now I need to go out and rent it!
RavenU, the movie is not bombing. It's doing very well.

It's doing well oversea too. SD2 has taken more than $16m in the UK.
