Neil Patrick Harris gets more horrible as Count Olaf. Neil Patrick Harris stars in a Netflix adaptation of Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events". He thinks the project is something Joss would like.

I'm surprised that no mention was made of "Dr. Horrible". I think that playing a wannabee evil mastermind would have played into taking on a character that is evil. If nothing else, he got to practice doing the "Bwah ha ha" right.
Eh...I can see that but from what I remember from the books as a kid, Olaf isn't all black hat; and the later books really do introduce kids to ethical shades of grey. It has plenty of comedy of course but theirs a noir-esque undertone to it especially in the later books.
"Think more Roald Dahl than Harry Potter. Or, as Harris puts it, Its the kind of show that Joss Whedon would like."

Except-- Joss loves Harry Potter, too.
I tried... I think maybe if there is nothing else left to watch, read, or do.
This also stars K. Todd Freeman (Mr Trick).

I binged the whole season in one sitting last night. If you're a fan of the books, you're going to love this show.
The actor who played Mr. Trick in Buffy also stars as Mr. Poe! Thought he looked familiar.
And with Barry Sonnenfeld exec-producing (and directing at least the first episode, the only one I've seen so far)... if any of you are, like me, still despondent over the loss of Pushing Daisies, then you should add this show to your list.
