Brett Matthews becomes the new 'Scream' showrunner. The former Mutant Enemy alum was an assistant to Joss on Buffy, Angel, and Firefly back in the day. Brett wrote the Firefly episode "Heart of Gold" and co-wrote the Serenity comic books "Those Left Behind" and "Better Days".

Why couldn't they just use S3 to wrap up the current show? And then we could have had a horror trilogy. This idea just makes no sense, and I can't support it as a fan of the original.
I'm kinda torn. I love the movies and liked the show a lot. But, if they tell a good story and bring back the original mask, I'm there. I like the creative team they have in place now so I'm going to give it a chance.
The show has never been anywhere near as good as the films. The main storyline wrapped up at the end of Season 2, but they annoyingly left several plot threads open. They SHOULD have used the Halloween special to wrap up those plot points, but instead they made it a stupid one-off special.

I have mixed feelings, but the show was never all that good in the first few seasons, so hoping Brett and co. will be able to take it in a new and interesting direction.
