Nathan Fillion joins the cast of A Series of Unfortunate Events. He will play Lemony Snicket's brother in season 2 of the popular Netflix series starring fellow Whedonverse alum Neil Patrick Harris.

What a... horrible pairing.
I finished the first season only a couple of hours ago. Interesting show. I almost didn't continue after the first episode, but it kept growing on me in a way I would've never expected.
Further alumni are K. Todd Freeman (Mr. Trick) and Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill).
If someone's never read the books I can see how it'd be a bit...unique.
A terrible casting decision that I hope will deter anybody from watching this appalling show.

If this was Facebook, I would like the last comment.
insistondoubt, please explain why you say that. I have been wondering if I should try to find a way to watch this, since I love NPH, Nathan Fillion, and other cast members (but I didn't like book 1 of the series and never tried to read any of the others).
Jocelyn, part of the humour of the book series is the author begging people not to read it because such woeful things happen to the protagonists. It's an in-joke that's carried across to the Netflix series as well.
Minority opinion here, but I just didn't find it funny. It just seemed to me to be trying too hard.
