Angel soundtrack album news update from Robert J. Kral. "Fox is working with EMI in the UK in the interest of putting (it) out....at this point it looks like Andy Hallett will have at least one song".

I'm guessing it will be a UK release, and that North Americans will have to import it. But that's just a guess.

Not to complain, but I really would like a Buffy album. As much as I love Angel's music, I haven't found it as thematically gripping as Buffy's soundtrack...
The article refers to Pylea music. Excuse me, but wasn't the point that there was no Pylea music?
If Fox released a Angel score album I doubt it would be UK only, since if I'm not mistaken Angel isn't as popular in the UK as it is in US.

Huh? The point of what?

From what I've heard, Angel is much more popular in the UK and other parts of the world than in the US.
The people of Pylea had no music, but the episodes set there had background music, like any other episode, I believe that is what is referred to as "Pylea music".

Angel's quite popular here, but it's more a matter of whether it's been given the chance to become a hugely popular show. Sky One(who run it first) have always treated it with respect, they put it in a slot (it has had 3 different slots) and air the whole season in that slot, with a new episode every week, and as little cuts as possible, until last year it accompanied Buffy which was very good, Buffy at eight, Angel at nine. It has, however been treated terribly on terrestrial, Channel 4 decided to show season one at a 6pm slot, so it was cut hugely ("In the dark" was under half an hour, they skipped "Somnambulist" (heck, it wasn't an important episode, one of the characters only found out Angel was a vampire!). There was over a year between season one and two, season two was shown after ten, moved every week. There was over a year between season two and three, and a channel change, Channel 5 gave it a great slot, Mondays 9pm, but apparently the ratings werent as good as they wanted (half the country can't get channel 5 though) theyve recently continued with season 3 at about midnight (can't remember what day).

Anyway, glad the CDs moving along, and glad there's going to be Darla stuff on it, because that's great.

ooh I'm excited about this. there's lots of nice stuff they could put on the album- Angel's hero theme (you know, the one that plays, for example, just before the teaser in 'City of...' and many other times throughout the series); the music from 'Are You Now or Have You Ever Been'; Darla music- I hope he's talking about that theme that recurs throughout Season 2, I always thought of it as an Angel/Darla theme; I'm glad they're condsidering the 'Pylea' music, I always thought the tone that music set was neat; um, can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but yeah definitely excited.

Agree they still need to come out with a Buffy one though- why do this for Angel yet not for Buffy? Joss once said that Fox didn't think the demand would be high enough for a Buffy score album, surely though it would be just as high or higher than for an Angel one?
