No Angel or Wonderfalls entries will be accepted for the Futon Critics SOS contest. "We're trying to fight the battles we can win, not fighting the good fight so to speak." However, Tru Calling is listed for those interested in entering.

"Entries will be taken from these series ONLY as while it may be admirable to write about saving shows like "Angel," "Wonderfalls," etc. said series are definitely not returning next season."

I wonder if there's a Kill Our Show contest for Tru Calling. I might enter that one.
I'd second that motion. Tru Calling so needs to be put out of its misery. The sooner the better. However, because it sucks it'll probably get a ten year run. We live in Bizarro world, I tell you.

I'm With Her was a fun idea, but desperately needs retooling. It doesn't work as a limited set sitcom. It would be more believable as an hour long dramadie - Like Sex In The City meets L.A. Story. It needs an entirely new cast, and new writers and a whole different look and... come to think of it just let the poor thing die already. The entire rest of the list... I think the world might actually be better served if they all just quietly went away. The only shows I'd want to save for next season are the very ones that allegedly can't be saved: Wonderfalls and Angel.

"keep in mind we're looking for positive, thoughtful entries here. Those who bash the networks, executives, other shows or anything else under the TV sun will not be considered."

Well, that rules me out. Why do I even still have a tv?
I think we're all just holding out hope that there'll be something worthwhile to watch in the 2004-2005 season.

I'm one of the seemingly few people here who actually enjoyed Tru Calling, and it was a nice twist with her father. That said, they may have shot themselves in the foot with the closing scene. It's odd how a few moments of very poor editing can ruin an otherwise decent two hours.
prufrock, I love your evil ways. I completely agree. Kill it, kill it now.

Has there been ANY Wonderfalls news of late? Are they still trying to shop it around?
can I join the death to tru calling campaign? Eliza you are so wasted on that show.
Of the shows they're letting you write a letter for, I only watch Enterprise regularly. I've caught a few episodes of Arrested Development (probably the most deserving of being saved), but haven't kept up with it. Sunday nights have turned into all-HBO night with Sopranos Season 5 and Deadwood. AD is in the not-so-hot 9:30 pm Fox timeslot. If I decide to write something, it'll probably be for Enterprise, which in its third season has shown the most dramatic improvement of any live-action series I've ever followed. Thing is, I feel that the season's overall success is pretty dependant on how well they tie it all together in the concluding episodes, but unfortunately Futon Critic's cut-off date is May 11th, so I won't be able to see them before them. Still, on the strength of some excellent standalone episodes and the main story arc being pretty damn good even when it's not great, I may sacrifice a bit of time to voice my opinion that Ent. deserves to be around for another season or half-season (I know they were originally planning for a possible 12-ep pick-up, dunno if that's still what UPN is reporting).
Anyone else feeling we've been not only royally screwed by the WB but we have been used as well. Now that it's getting down to fall line up announcement time and the fact that the WB is announcing it's line-up a day before the season finale of Angel, and as if to rub salt in an open wound, as of late you cannot seem to read a news story of departing series where Angel is mentioned almost immediately followed by a blurb about Dark Shadows coming to fill the vampire void (by the guy who created the West Wing and ER). Need I say the other shows have never impressed me nor does it compell me to want to watch DS, period, but the fact that the WB is so blatant in riding the exiting coat tails of Angel, that it is a slap in the face of all fans who have supported a vampire with a soul. Proving without a doubt the WB seems to not only lack a soul but to also lack common descency and sense as well.

**Side Note: The IT (formerly known as the WB) has announced the pick up of it's first dramtic series of the 04-05 season - 'Jack & Bobby'
