Back to the Beginning: Buffy season one review. Daniel Erenberg at Slayage.com gives his take on the first twelve episodes.

Ok they were finding their feet back in 1997.(That long ago?) But there were some stellar episodes.

It always amazed me how quick the cast clicked. If you watch any other show out there, usually the pilot episode and first few episodes seem a bit awkward. Definitely was not the case with BtVS. It really felt like Buffy just moved to town and all these other kids knew each other and she quickly fit in.

I had seen the movie and thought it was okay. Nothing I'd want to watch again and I almost didn't watch the show when it came out because of the movie. I was so glad I did!! I was instantly hooked and couldn't wait for more.

Oh, I loved "Witch". The scenes with Buffy as the hyper cheerleader are some of my favorites, epecially when she throws that other cheerleader flying. I wasn't big on the "I Robot, you Jane" one and agreed with him totally that once the robot took form it did seem kind of hokey. But for a first season, and only a half one at that, it was, for the most part pure excellence.
I think for season enders you'd be hard-pressed to find a better one than Prophecy Girl. Unless of course its Becoming II, and then there's this little ep called Graduation Day 1 & 2... oh! and remember The Gift?...

er... I really WAS going somewhere with this...
