No Angel TV Movies Next Year. Not that I believed the WB for a second to begin with...Warning: she does have spoilers in other posts, BUT they are behind an LJ-CUT tag. So you're safe if you don't click those.

Background: Persephonemoon is, I'd say, pretty reliable. She had the last two complete scripts for Angel up earlier and has been cited by Tensai over at the Spoiler Slayer.

Pretty much just confirmation of what we all knew and dreaded.

Boycott the WB I say.

Done and done, cubiclesatan.
Remember when Allyson was saying all this a few months ago and all anyone could do was complain about her. Just saying.
Remember when Allyson was saying what? *confused*
Is that next year as in Fall 2004 or next year as in 2005?
Simon, I think she means next year as in season-starting in Fall 2004, ending Spring 2005. At least that's how I took it. I think of it as similar to the "school year".

And really, how could it not be true? If they wanted a movie anytime in this next 'year' they would have had to get the contracts rolling already. Sets struck, DB saying "no", etc. etc. It's done for.
Well I have to say it's not actually a major shock. Seeing as no one from the cast or crew have said that the movies are happening.
It is obvious the WB never had any honest intentions of doing anything. They were just trying to stifle the save angel movements.

That is the second reliable source to post something along those lines. Check out this thread ***** TV Movies, Mini-series.....No Deal In Place ****** from that poster on the WB board (SteelDog) from 5-8-04.

http://talk.thewb.com/viewtopic.php?topic=270269&forum=4&52

Here are the highlights from that post:

"As of the start of this week I was able to confirm that there currently are no deals in place for any TV movie or Mini-series."

"Did the WB make overtures to JW and company? Yes. But saying they are interested and actually making ME an offer are two different things. There has been no movement on that front."

"the WB doesn't seem overly anxious at this point to get a deal done. I guess things could change in a hurry. However, if I was you guys I would just enjoy what is left of Angel and hope something gets done soon."

Yeah - David B. pretty much said the same thing this weekend - kinda that's the way Hollywood works and he heard about the meetings but he got the feeling that you would get peace in the middle east before the WB and ME/FOX come to a deal.
I think the best I'm hoping for is one of those novels (Chris Golden and the like). Although, I was really not impressed with how they did the "Chosen" novel for the end of Buffy. It was rife with bad punctuation, spelling and the like.

Okay - heh - I think Buffy.nu saw this post and put the story on their site. Can't be sure, there's no feature that shows when they post their links.

Well seeing as they quoted you, I think you got the story first.

Come to think of it, they've quoted me two or three times in the last week and never cited me. But I'm not bitching. No really.
LOL - They quoted me? I didn't see that - and it's not my story anyway - it's Persephonemoon's. Oh wait a minute, the rats! They used my endorsement of P! But they never mentioned "cubiclesatan" as source of that!

Eeeevil. Well, at least they freaking have a testimonial as to the veracity of a scoop or source, unlike their toasty little "NBC" fiasco.

Well, I guess I'm "not bitching" with you as well, Simon.

Forget it, it's a one woman war against idiocy. I emailed their webmaster. If you're going to use my endorsement of someone nearly verbatim you'd damn well better say it was me. Idiots. They probably just troll Whedonesque half the time for their stories and don't even search the net on their own...

Where does a couch potato go to turn in her resignation? I hate this job. They won't give me anything good to watch and take the few shows away that I really enjoyed. I suppose if I were to get a lobotomy, then the rest of what is left on the tube would look good.
A lot of us have been quoted (without credit) by buffy.nu. Usually it's just ripping off headlines, but sometimes they take our descriptions, too.
kdeweb - sign up for Netflix! Cheaper than cable & you always have something you *want* to watch. It's some small consolation that, after tomorrow night, I will never again strike odd poses with my antenna to get the WB.
Hmm, not surprised at all.
And this is news because?

a) David Boreanaz changed his mind?
b) David Boreanaz changed his mind?
or

You get the message?

You can't do Angel TV Movies without the star, and the star don't wanna do 'em.

So it AINT NEWS!

Someone fetch me a fresh sea-breeze!
gingeriffic - thanx for the tip. I already have Netflix. I suppose I can start with Farscape. I never saw that show and I have heard great things. I guesss I should also catch up on Firefly. I never saw it either because Friday nights are bad for me tube-wise.

::sigh:: but to not be able to turn the tv on after tomorrow and catch a new episode of ANGEL is just heartbreaking! I have never felt this way about a series before - not even BUFFY!

I want my vamps!
onwards to boycotting!!!
Make sure to boycott the companies that advertise on the WB, not just the WB itself. That will really hit them where it hurts. I plan on sending a UPC (where applicable) to the companies from a product of theirs and telling them that as long as they advertise on the WB, I won't be buying any more of their products (and then actually do just that!!).
*shrugs* I remember James Marsters hinting at a Spike spinoff. I wonder if that will EVER happen. And Joss has said he would like to do some Angel TV movies but he feels there's too many reality shows on tv right now.

This news doesn't bother me any. Mostly because the tv movies thing was always just a rumor. It was never confirmed.
