Flashback to the Soul of Chicago. City of Angel coverage of the recent Flashback Weekend convention, featuring David Boreanaz, Stephanie Romanov and Christian Kane.

quote
David tells the audience, "The tears were falling. You know when you work for a show for that long a period of time, you know a lot about each other, you become a family and it was tough, it was hard. I kept fighting it, 'I'm not gonna cry, I'm not gonna cry, I'm not gonna cry' - I won't go there. We ended up shooting in an alleyway which we kind of started the show in an alleyway and some amazing things happen in that alleyway. Kelly Manners, who was the producer of the show, and I just hugged and cried and it was very emotional. It was 4:30 in the morning so we were all tired I think because of the exhaustion of the scene. I'm really proud of the way they ended it. It was a very emotional time."

David's emotions, pleased Angel fans?
:D
Were they tears of blood?

: )
Wow, it only took him a few months to come up with that story, er, I mean, admit his true feelings.....

Sorry, after countless interviews with, "I'm so happy! I'm so happy!" this feels a little forced. But whatever, I'm not judging him for having his feelings or nonfeelings. Just looks like his PR folks finally told him "Look, David, it might help to say something about what you'll MISS about the show too....you're an actor, you can do it!"

And why wouldn't he mention these overwhelming feelings before? Most everything up 'til now was, "I was so relieved, I've been wanting to be done for more than a year, etc" Seems like such a strong, emotional reaction would have been mentioned at some point. But whatever, if it's true, great, if it's not true, great too, because he's finally learning a bit of etiquette which should serve him well in his career.
I don't know, I have to agree with Rogue Slayer. I've always been surprised by his lack of grief over the shows cancellation. He had the opportunity to work with Joss Whedon for crying out loud. What other role can he get that will possibly be as creative or entertaining as one that Joss puts together. And add to that the amazing cast and crew he worked with! I dont fault him for wanting to move on, but show some appreciation and regret for what you're leaving behind.
At least he felt comfortable enough with the fans to open up a little. Every interview concerning the cancellation has read like an athlete giving one of those pre-fabricated locker-room-after-the-game sound bites.
I still wish he didn't try to explain away the tears and hugging as 'due to exhaustion'. Crying doesn't make you any less manly, David.
