Teaser poster for Serenity! Featured at the New York Licensing Show reported by Pitdoc over at aintitcool.com . A nice little poster to tide all of us brown coats over until the next bit of movie news comes along.

also nice to see they kept the firefly font.

It's a shame that all the talkbackers at aintitcool.com can say about the poster is how phallic the ship apparently is. I pray these people aren't a good indication of what non-Firefly fans will see when this poster ends up in theaters.

Can anyone see what they're going on about, I sure as hell can't.

That was what I thought when I first saw this poster. But the picture on the Little Mermaid video box is much more phallic like.

I like the image of a spaceship hurtling towards the white dwarf or supernova or whatever it is juxtaposed with the word serenity. It could also be seen as a sperm swimming to an egg representing Joss Whedon's fertile imagination. Nah, it's a spaceship.

Usually, Serenity doesn't look all that phallic actually. Under this angle....yeah, little bit more, but usually it looks more like a chicken or a a duck or something. Not the best angle for the poster I must say.

Those folks aren't a good indication of anything...they, to me, are the anti-Whedonesque. But anyway.......

1. I think this movie will put Joss Whedon at the head of the class.

2. I hope the cast will be able to rise to the occasion.

It's a long wait till Serenity comes out in the States, it'll be sods law that it takes another two months after the US debut till it comes out in the UK. I don't want to download it, I want to see it on the big screen and get an emotional rush when the opening credits come on.

Hmmm, using my american airlines points for a free return trip to the states next April sounds like an incredibly good idea. True it's a bit of a waste when I intend to spend the last 4 months of the year there anyway, but hell, I want to see this movie.

The only thing I will avoid is a full-on review of the entire script or a blow by blow description of what happens in the movie.

I'll treat 'Serenity' like I do any other movie I'm interested in. I'll find out what the basic plot is, I'll read the interviews with the cast and crew but I don't want to be totally spoilt for it and I sure as heck do not want to know the ending.

I'm sure there's a perfectly rational reason why I feel this way as opposed to being totally spoilt for Buffy or Angel but I can't think of it right now.

I think it would be cool if we Whedonesquers who live in the same area meet up and see this movie together. It would be fun to meet other Whedonesquers especially for a special event such as this.

I can't wait to go to this on opening night knowing that a lot of the audience are Whedon fans. I wonder if there is a way to recognize them like with knowing glances or overhearing snippets of conversations of the Firefly series while waiting for the movie to start.

esg, that is such a cool idea. I think maybe there's two of us here in this small town, Prescott, AZ. But I keep flashing back to the BuffyBash in Los Angeles, and how cool it was to watch the final episode with 500 other fans. It was so great. An experience I'll never forget.

Hah! I'm old enough to catch that reference Simon. Or maybe it's that I grew up in Holland and caught some Carry On movies on BBC when I was really still too young to watch it!

Then we were in the same room together Willowy. Rogue Slayer and I were there too. And yeah it was really cool. At one of the Save Angel rallies here in LA I had a chance to chat with Herc from AICN and I asked him if there was gonna be an Angel Bash too. He said he'd love too but didn't think there'd be enough people like for Buffy. Pity. I would've loved it. Especially if they made more of those tribute pop up videos. Those were hilarious.

Ah well. Here's hoping Serenity will be a success. I wonder if movies like 'Riddick' will turn people back on to SF again.
