Haken has opened poll on name for official FF film board. Fun poll asks you to select new name from seven offered. It's on the front page of fireflyfans.net. I won't say which is leading.

"It's on front page of fireflyfans.net."

It is?
It's on the left hand side under the Firefly Taglog, which is under Support FF.NET.

Maybe I'm just boring, but I like Serenity Board option the best.
no-brainer.
It's on the left side of the page, under Weekly Poll. Took me a second to find it too.

No offence to Haken or anyone else involved with Fireflyfans.net, it's a cool site, but for all the praise it gets, the front page sure looks unprofessional and cluttered.

"Big Damn Board" is best. Nothing with the word "official" in it, so as to avoid confusion with the Prospero/Fox OPB.

My proposal: SBOE

(Slowest Board On Earth)

I mean even after they worked on the servers it's ass slow. And I don't like the whole point-collecting stuff. It will attract to many dumbasses who otherwise wouldn't have come there. I really don't like the whole site at all. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I think web pages should be build using html rather than Flash :-/ I mean: You can't even get on their f***in site without having Flash installed, which is not available for all systems. If it were an option to spice things up, ok. But you won't see the site without. The chat thingie is made in Flash too and not very usable. Bah.

Hey I think I'm in a bad mood :)

I never like point collecting things online, there's always people who have huge, huge amounts, (there's someone on the Serenity board with over 20'000, which I can't see how it's possible in a few days) and I have to suspect there's fowl play afoot.

As far as names, I like "Serenity Board", "Big Damn" is used to much.
I am getting very bored, very quickly of the phrase "big damn".
You know what? I prefer Joss doing TV-shows. It's better to look out for 40 minutes of intelligent entertainment once week than to look out for two hours once every two years or so ... :)
100,000 credits for getting a Serenity product? Bloody hell. *mutters something bitchy about Universal getting the fans to do all the guerilla marketing*.

And regards to a Joss movie. I want to see what he can do on screen. I want to feel the magic I felt when I watched "A Hole in the World" all over again. And I want other people to feel it too. People who wouldn't normally watch Buffy and Angel but who would go to the cinema to see a sci-fi movie.
People are getting huge point values by posting links to very popular sites. Actually the person who posted the link to Slashdot (MyOrangeHat) emailed the admins and asked for her points to be lowered. Otherwise she'd be at probably 50K by now. BarryWoodward posted to AICN.
What about SOB (Serenity Official Board)?
Wish I'd thought of Slashdot or AICN. Ah well, I enjoyed my one day spent at number one, heh.
Aye, I did a chuckle of seeing your name at number one, good on ya :).
I think I laughed a bit at that, too, hell I've only seen half an episode of the series. But I'll be damned if I'm not going to make my way back up neverthless; I'm not above bribery or, you know, practically anything for that matter ;)

Simon, I see your "very quickly" and raise you with "right now."
I'm a Firefly virgin (yes, I realize that's desperately in need of rephrasing) so is "big damn" a reference to the show? I spend my day in a dark room, you see, and therefore have not been properly exposed to pop culture...or the world in general.
Don't worry. I have yet to see Firefly either. I'm sure it's great, being a creation straight from Joss. I just got the DVD collection and I can't wait to watch it! The website does seem rather cluttered and disorganized.
Without spoiling too much, at one point the main characters refer to themselves as "big damn heroes". A great moment.
Ohhh...I can't wait for the movie. I'll probably have to see it 20 times...or more. The more we fans go see it, the better chance of an Angel movie. Of course, a crossover Buffy/Angel movie would be the best...but I'm sure Sarah wouldn't go for it. Too bad. It just wouldn't be the same with a different Buffy.
Thanks for the explanation KernelM.

OT, but I wasn't aware that it was possible to set a bag of popcorn on fire when it was in the microwave for only a minute. Kinda neat. Not recommending it, but neat.
