David's Wicked Prayer getting final touches. The film will not open on either August 5th or 6th as previously reposted, for it is currently at the optical house for completion of the special effects.

Didn't filming complete over a year ago? It wouldn't make sense that they're still doing special effects, unless they had to do a lot of reshoots or something.
Filming ended last year, but that doesn't mean they started FX work immediately. A big production like LoTR gets moved through the FX process as quickly as possible, but for a movie that wasn't even guarenteed a theatrical release - eh. They'll take their time while the studio decides just how much money it's willing to put towards post-production.
Oh, I guess that makes sense. So it's kinda been on the backburner, waiting for post.
Yeah, I seem to remember seeing an article at the time it completed filming that said it would be a few months before post even started. I could be mistaken :)
Here's hoping Wicked Prayer will be better than the third Crow film, in which I actually rooted for the bad guy.
Really? I liked the third, I didn't really like the second. As much as I liked the first I really wished they had played it even closer to the book. I still love the book dearly and I'm glad I got to sit down with James O'Barr and talk a bit about it back in '92.
I just have a feeling that this "film" isn't going to be very strong. I would really love for it to do well and be great, but i don't think it will attain either of those goals.
