July 10 2004

Eliza Dushku to attend Comic-Con on July 23rd. Also, the pilot of David Fury's "Lost" will be screened on the 24th. And Amber Benson will be at the Inkworks booth all weekend.

Hmm, so Eliza's 1:30-2:30 on Friday, SMG's 4:30-5:30 on Saturday, and Joss (with "suprise guests from the cast" of Serenity) is 1:00-2:00 on Sunday. That's great! Except I can only take one day to go to San Diego. Dagnabbit! Couldn't they all meet up together the day I'm there?

Oh well, there are many fans who can't go at all, so mustn't grumble I suppose. But, so near, and yet . . .
Did Fury write the pilot for Lost or was that the show's creator, J.J. Abrahams?
Don't forget Keanu Reeves is appearing too. And please show support for the people who made "Shaun of the Dead".
Fury didna write the pilot, JJ Abrams did. Fury is a co-ep on the show.
Ooh, that comic-con is going to be good! Too bad I can't be in San Diego for it. I hope all you who are going will tell us all about it.
And Amber Benson will be there too (she'll be at the Inkworks booth). Decided to add that to the subject line as well.

It'll be like Buffyverse fan heaven. Whedon, Gellar, Duskhu, Benson, (Fury?).
Any idea what day(s) Amber will be there, Simon? Or anyone? Couldn't find her listed after v. quick search on Comic-Con site.
Wondering the same thing about Amber, since it looks like I'm going to miss Eliza (can't skip out on work again), but I'll be there Saturday and Sunday. So I get Joss and Sarah goodness, but my greed wants more more more Buffyverse representation!
I think she may be there all weekend (I think). Not 100% sure.
Lucky ducks. Enjoy yourselves, if you're going, and please tell Joss we can't wait for Serenity. And more Buffy/Angel-verse, because y'know, him hearing it fifty thousand times can't hurt. ;)
Simon, Amber will be there all weekend at the Inkworks booth, selling her film Chance (actually it's a little more complicated than that, as she's not selling the film on DVD or VHS so much as a photo and/or poster and then you get a free copy of the film to go with it).
Having seen the entire two-hour pilot of "Lost," I can attest that it is a doozy of a show. I am a huge fan of JJ's but was a bit skeptical about how the show could sustain more than a few episodes. By the end of the first hour, I was totally riveted. Amazing characters, a plethora of mysteries, and some damn fine suspense and sci-fi adventure. If you're going to be at Comic-Con, be sure to check it out!
OMG - Ed will be having a heart attack he finally gets to see Eliza. Rouge S make sure you keep a rope around Ed Dantes so he doesn't float off. :)
Thanks for that Obbjob. And according to Save Wonderfalls:

"There will also be a Wonderfalls screening (of "Lying Pig" and "Cocktail Bunny") at the San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday, July 25th. We're not sure of the exact time yet, but we believe it's following Joss Whedon's Serenity event, which runs from 1-2 pm."
The Wonderfalls screening is on Sunday in the same room as Joss right after, according to the official site. Tim will be there, along with Bryan Fuller and Todd Holland.

Jane should tag along with Eliza on the Tru panel.

Then, everyone can come back to my place for drinks. Of course.
Damn, I'm not going to be there on the 23rd. I'm going on Sunday, for the Dead Like Me, Serenity and Wonderfalls panels. We're showing Lying Pig and Cocktail Bunny at the WF thing... I hope a lot of people come watch!
Yez! Yez! Yez! Yez! Yez! Yez! Yez! Yez!

Gon'be there all 4 dayz....Yez! Yez! Yez!

Sorry, just really happy. For a long while it looked like no one cool was going to be there apart from Sarah. Now we got added to her: Joss, Eliza, Amber, Keanu, and (yay!) Firefly people and other stuff others here would probably not care about, (Robert Rodgriguez, Neil Gaiman, Lance Henriksen, Frank Miller, etc) but me happy!Coolnezzz....

One thing though, on the Comicon page it says the Grudge thing has to share it's hour with Resident Evil stuff. That's kinda....sucky. NOthing against Milla, but come on, an hour is short enough as it is. Still, not complaining. Can't wait!

I swear, some people on this board just know me too well by now....;-) But hey, it's all good. My better half can drool over James Marsters and Tony Head in Oakland in August, hehee.

Hmmm.....Eliza....urghlhlhlhlhl....
Those of you going have a lovely time. I'm very envious.
All you going will have to give the rest of us a full report! Enjoy yourselves!! And yes Ed, by now we all know how much you love Eliza and how much Rogue S loves James!! What a great convention it's going to be with all those great people showing up. The only thing better would've been them all there on the same day sitting on a stage together answering lots of questions!!

I've never been to a convention but if I lived close to this one I'd definitely be tempted to go all three days.
"All you going will have to give the rest of us a full report!"

Will do. We'll be home sunday and Simon said he'd put up a link here for people to post their stories.

"And yes Ed, by now we all know how much you love Eliza and how much Rogue S loves James!!"

Don't know whatcher on about......Eliza who? OH her.....right.....she's okay....I guess....

(*checks from corner of eye to see if anyone's buying....* ;-)
No way am I reigning in Ed on this one. It's his dweam come twuuuu! And after dragging him to not one but three James events in one weekend, and my drooly behavior at each of those events, I don't think I have much room to talk! Hell, I'll be gobsmacked to meet Eliza too. She's a beautiful person! If I were into girls too, she'd be my pick. And my husband would be ecstatic about the possibilities...... ; )

And I may consider shelling out the money for Chance if I can actually meet Amber. She always seems so nice.

Amber is very nice indeed. Really puts you at ease. And she's so much fun to listen to at signings :).
