First glimpse at the Southland. An interview with Richard Kelly where he discusses Sarah's upcoming film.

Well, assuming it gets off the ground, and assuming Sarah's actually in it - which we have no reason to doubt right now, - the movie sounds really interesting, and a great choice to show she can play something other than teen queen. That is, if she is cast as something OTTQ. The phrase "hybrid of genres" stood out for me: that spells cool, different, experimental, - and possibly a marketing nightmare . . . I also (selfishly) hope that the cast is not *too* huge so as to bury any decent part she might have, and that she gets to sing.

Didn't actually see "Donnie Darko", although the consensus seems to be very positive. I also must admit I'm no big fan of Kevin Smith, but he's hardly a negative. Looking forward to this one, and keeping fingers crossed.
What's OTTQ mean
I'm sorry garda39 - that was me abbreviating my own phrase "other than teen queen". Didn't mean to be mysterious.
Sodding, you HAVE to see Donnie Darko. It's the only movie I own on DVD, and it's probably one of my favorite movies ever. It's one of those you have to watch over and over to understand it, and it's quite existential and fascinating.
I found Donnie Darko grossly over-hyped... but it was a decent movie
Is it just me or is that article dated July 26? My calendar tells me that today is only July 21st...

As for this movie, it sounds interesting. I believe that Sarah was confirmed to be in the cast a couple of months ago. Will she be doing any singing and dancing? :)
Donnie Darko is on my Top 10 list of great movies. Truly visionary and original.
DONNIE DARKO IS AMAZING. The movie floored me. I can't wait for Richard Kelly's next project!....oh yeah, and sarah...;)
