August 20 2004

Happy birthday to James Marsters. He's 42 today.

Thank you, Simon :)

Anytime :).
lol. I didn't think you guys were serious about the delete/repost.

Anyway. I hope I look that good at 42.

I'd be more than willing to take James out for a great night on the town to celebrate...
Hey, he's a fellow Leo. Why didn't I know that?
sTalking_goat: lol. I didn't think you guys were serious about the delete/repost.
Well a girl's gotta be precise ;) A second can make a day.

And I'm still not entirely sure whether you're a stalking goat or a talking goat. I've actually thought about this indepth but have come to no satisfying conclusion.

Illyria: I'd be more than willing to take James out for a great night on the town to celebrate...
Well I suppose you can tag along with us.

10 years older than I. And I'm often told I'm a geezer. Makes me feel good. Then again he looks like a god....makes me feel less good.

BTW isn't it funny that some people online still don't believe this is his age?
I got a kick out of Drew Greenberg sighing over James' cheekbones on his Season Six commentary. Got to admit, I'm right there with you, Drew!
Okay Faith, I'll tag along with you...but don't be surprised if he decides he wants to be alone with me!;)
Ummm, guys? Illyria and Faith, didn't James tell you? He swore he would! Ah well. It's his birthday. If he doesn't mind, I don't either.
*grumble grumble*
It's lovely to be younger than someone for once.
I'm sure James will love having three gorgeous gals showing him a good time...
I'm sure James will love having three gorgeous gals showing him a good time...
And cool! Don't forget cool! ;->
Well Lioness, that's just a given!
Cheekbones forever.......mmmmm

It's odd to think James is older than Joss and only a few years younger than ASH!!

And he could *technically* be my dad.....but I don't dwell on that fact....
Discovering the Whedonverse (both the people who make it and the fans I've met because of it) has influenced my perception of age entirely in a really positive way. Makes aging more a desired accumulation of knowledge and experience than something to be feared. Granted, this is coming from someone who could probably be your daughter's age.

In addition, I was watching some show about Johnny Depp this morning who is right around James' age and has very nicely defined cheekbones. Then, I was thinking, if someone gave James a shot in Hollywood, I could easily see him taking on similar roles to JD.

Oh anyways, Happy Birthday, James. And many more.
James is the same age as my dad, and although that could be slightly disturbing, he has such a great personality that I never would have thought he was in his fourties. He is amazing.
One thing is for certain, James is certainly aging gracefully. Most men half his age wish they looked as good........
Well, Happy Brithday, James! I didn't know he was a fellow Leo either but it doesn't surprise me- he has the "vibe". =) So, Willowy will we be wishing you a happy birthday soon or a belated one? Just had my 25th birthday on the 5th.

32 isn't old in the slightest, and besides, men improve upon age, in my opinion.

BTW isn't it funny that some people online still don't believe this is his age?

There was a time when I was in denial for a few years, then I was no longer jailbait and cheered up a bit.

Now, *looks to Illyria and Lioness*, I'm leaving this be, since I've been known to start 300+ posts on this very subject.

And happy birthday to Willowy, whenever hers was/is, and to Karen.
God, I love JM!!! Happy Birthday Gorgeous!!!
It's not the age but the mileage, and JM wears both well. Happy Birthday, James!
"Discovering the Whedonverse (both the people who make it and the fans I've met because of it) has influenced my perception of age entirely in a really positive way."

I know exactly how you feel! I actually learned that when I became a fan of Neve Campbell, though (she was 25 and I thought that was wierd. I was an idiot. A 13-14 yearold idiot.). However, it was the 'verse that really did it. I mean, everyone David Boreanaz's age and up could have parented me (then again, 10 yearolds have made children), but hearing them speak and seeing them act just made me not care anymore. People are people.

"32 isn't old--"

Seconded.

Happy Birthday, James! (and Willowy and Karen ;))

I'll stay 24, thanks! And it's true, men improve with age. Women just get old.
Faith - If by 'improve upon age' you mean get paunchier, jowlier and more crinkled, yep, gotta agree with you there.

If, on the other hand, you mean design a better, stronger, faster kind of age, well then, I have no idea what you're talking about :-)

Sadly, yep. I'm 20, so if anyone's got the secret to eternal youth, now's the time to tell me.

Aw, well I find someone like Sean Connery extremely sexy, even if he's not the modern definition of the word.

If, on the other hand, you mean design a better, stronger, faster kind of age, well then, I have no idea what you're talking about :-)

Lol, I have a wide range of tastes with no specific required characteristic, but a standout bonus is the level of maturity most men over their 40s have. Me, I got lucky, he's 24 but acts on average in his late 30s, and I mean that in a nice way.

I'd still trade him for James, though. Kidding...sort of.
Ladies - you are just babies! Life gets better as you get older! I'm happier now at 40 than I've ever been!
Oh I have no doubt that live gets better as it goes on, mostly because there nowhere but up to go lol My dilemma is that I'm deeply, shamelessly shallow. That's where aging and I have our problems :)
Well Faith I can tell you that I too am kinda shallow in the "way I look" department. And I just hit 43. The laugh lines kind of pinch a bit, but you feel so much more well rounded as a person (not to denigrate who you are right now in any way! Its the experiences in our 20's that shape who we are as older adults and our really only chance to be totally into ourself and our friends, before we begin creating our own family with partner and kids!), it makes up for it. I proudly celebrate each birthday because I have earned them!

Whedonesquers come in every age, don't we?
"And it's true, men improve with age. Women just get old."

I disagree. Well, unless you go by Hollywood standards. The people who give us Jessica Simpson.
He's certainly aging well. My young niece has a huge crush on James. When I'd mentioned to her that James was in his early 40's, her jaw nearly fell on the floor. "No way!!" I just turned 41 recently, but unlike James, I actually look it. Happy Birthday James!

From his own time zone, Happy Birthday!
Nicholas Cage (b.1964). George Clooney (b. 1961). Russell Crowe (b.1964). Tom Cruise (b.1962). Johnny Depp (b.1963). Mel Gibson (b.1956). Hugh Grant (b.1960). Tom Hanks (b.1956). Viggo Mortensen (b. 1958). Sean Penn (b.1960). Brad Pitt (b.1963). Keanu Reeves (b.1964). Denzel Washington (b.1954).

The 42nd Post! Happy Birthday James, good luck on all your endevours.
"And it's true, men improve with age. Women just get old."

Bullsh*t!

*Indignant post on the behalf of beloved old crones everywhere..*

Watch 'Harold & Maude'... Go see Patti Smith or Emmylou Harris perform... Watch Kim Cattrall as Samantha in 'Sex & The City' ("I'm forty-fucking-five and I'm fabulous.").. Read Katharine Hepburn's autobiography or 'The Crone' by Barbara G. Walker (cannot recommend these two books highly enough!)

And tell me "women just get old". PAH!

*Huffy young dame lookin' to be a tough old broad some day..*

(Oh and many ebullient birthday happies to James Marsters, too.. ;) )

So am i the only one on here that doesn't think Kim Cattrall is all that attractive? In fact i don't really think any of the core four characters from that show are all that good looking to be honest.

I don't know, maybe it's just my personal taste in women but i wouldn't go out of my way to talk to any of them if i saw them in a club. Not one of them looks in any way sexy to me.

Now Amy Lee, she is sexy, her i would go talk to, lol.
I don't find any of them attractive, either, and if you want to talk to Amy you're going to have to push me out of the way first ;)
