Review of "Astonishing X-Men" #4 at aintitcool. He believes this issue was the beginnning of the astonishment.

To me comics shoulld be about storytelling first, visuals second, true it's a dual medium, and both are important, but if a story is written well I can ignore bad art.

Which is partially why I disagree so much with this reviewer, not sure if I would consider reading his future reviews for any titles. He admits that the past 3 issues have had incredible characterisation, good dialog, and plot twists, but then says he is only excited about the title now that there is a big well-illustrated fight.

Just doesn't seem all that important to me, it's a great issue, but mainly for the same reason as the first 3 are.

Oh and the crack at Angel didn't seem right to me.
Hmm, yes, after re-reading and noticing the Angel crack, it makes me totally disregard the rest of the review.
Especially since the Angel crack contains a none-too-subtle wiff of homophobia, yeah, the reviewer loses pretty much all credibility there. Anyway, anyone who really watched Angel knows that Lorne's sexuality was pretty ambiguous...more like non-existent really.

And why does the guy want Jean Grey back? I thought it was popular opinion that most people were tired of seeing her resurrected and that she was never all that compelling a character to begin with...??
Was I the only one who didn't expect to see Colossus again? Was I not in on something? I mena, I would have rathered Psylocke personally. But not Jean. I mena, I know she'll be back, and I read the Dark Phoenix TPB like, once a month, but her time has gone. Let her rest. and then I remember that Marvel make poor decisions reguarly.

On the review side of things, I disregarded the entire thing after the opening. It was poorly written, uninteresting and bland. Not to mention moronic. Go read some Insert Credit and then learn to review.
did the angel crack get removed? i can't find it. edit: nevermind. found it. Very Lame.
