Carter Burwell to create Serenity score, it appears. This was gleaned from the audio recording of the Serenity panel at DragonCon and reported by KernelM at OB.

Burwell has quite a credit sheet:

Here's link to audio posted by Haslinger at fff.net and uploaded at:

Also, somebody on one of the panels at Worldcon said that Keith R.A. DeCandido will be doing a novelization of Serenity to be released a few weeks before the movie. I'm too lazy to find the posts on the OB right now. :-P
Heh, he did the music for the Buffy movie. I like that connection.
Apparently Joss doesn't hold that against him
It's a shame the music isn't being composed by the guy that did the TV series, hopefully they'll try and keep the music similar.
This is excellent news. Besides being the house composer on almost all the Coen Brothers films, he has got just the right vibe for Serenity. He has a great knack for being a very organic composer and one who has the ability to give a movie a musical context while also being quite good at servicing idividual moments. Great choice.
Yeah, I wish Edmunson were doing it, but if its got to be someone else, Burwell is a really good choice.
Anyone know WHY Greg Edmondson isn't doing it?
His work on Velvet Goldmine rocked my socks. Great, awesome choice. And yeah, as someone said, the Coen brothers' films. What an impressive resume.
Man, he did Coen's Ladykillers, I really liked it score.
It's April '05 still very far away?
