I can't help it, I'm a cinematographer groupie - and Joss always has the very *best* of the Best and Gifted folks behind the lens shooting his images! I've got the Big Time Hots for his editors, too. We never get to see these folks, but they are the ones who "paint the picture" and then make it dance in front of our eyes.
I'm off to anticipation-land now. Tell me, isn't there some way we can get the premiere of "Serenity" moved up?? Next year seems so very far away....
wissxwe | September 17, 16:01 CET
It's like he's come to visit us. Nice of him to drop in over there.
Lioness | September 17, 16:14 CET
wissxwe, I am so with you on that...guess it's highly improbable, these schedules being the unruly beasts that they are...but...6 months of waiting knowing that it's already done...painful, just painful.
He's not my favorite genius. He's my only (living) genius. The man is gifted beyond my poor power to convey...just astounding.

I hear that. Hell I wish I could go tomorrow! But I think it's probably smart to bring it out in a quiet movie time. I mean if it has to go up against something like Spiderman 2 or Star Wars 3 or something it's just gonna get buried, you know? If there's nothing but the next Hillary Duff flick or another 'Dude where's my brain?' as competition then I think it'll do fine.
Grrrr big box office, come on....trilogy, come on you can do it....let's go....come to poppa...

They must love (and trust) Joss as much as we do!

Personally I'm waiting for Howard Stern to tell us that Joss is the latest victim of the "Lynch" syndrome, afflicting creator-writers of hit visionary tv shows. Joss is clearly washed-up.

Wellll, OK then here ya go: ;);););) And yet it seems to me if Whedonesque-rs can get JW's dry humor, they can surely get mine. OTOH, maybe there's a reason he's Joss Whedon and I am . . . whoever I am.
ShotgunWes: you mean people are actually looking forward to seeing "Revenge of the Sith"? First I'd heard about it . .

I see the reason for it, and it's an awfully pretty hue, but I couldn't possibly alert people to sarcasm in that way. Takes all the fun out of it . . .
Is there a color for "wow that writer's ignorance is matched only by his or her incredibly poor spelling and grammar"?
And, BTW, one of the great fringe benefits of being a Brit in the US is that the natives are just so darn friendly and take so much of what you say at face-value. :)

We hear even less from Joss these days. Are the ME writers posting at the Beta Bronze anymore? I should check the Bronze VIP archive.
Mmm, garlic muscles in cilantro broth.

And how cool of him to write us (fans, I mean). The only thing that would've made it better is if he posted here. Oh well, someday! Not complaining though. I'll take every scrap there is.
We love you Joss...

I'm sorry for the trouble, SoddingNancyTribe. In no way was my post directed towards yours. BTW, that was good! :)

Nope! Now for something really sarcastic to say! Uhm....damn...wouldn't ya know it.....can't think of a thing....oh well.
"you mean people are actually looking forward to seeing "Revenge of the Sith"? First I'd heard about it . . "
Hey now, some of us actually still harbour hope that this will be the movie that might actually make the prequel trilogy worthwhile. It could happen! It could happen I tell you! You know why? Shut up, that's why! Pant pant.....please let it be good.....please....hmm..should that have been in purple?
"And how cool of him to write us (fans, I mean). The only thing that would've made it better is if he posted here. Oh well, someday! Not complaining though. I'll take every scrap there is."
Right there with ya. Course it would be kinda cool if he posted here once.... Till then we'll entertain ourselves with the notion he knows of the board and occasionally glances at us...hehe.
"Mmm, Joss looks like such a geeky guy, but man he's almost enough to make a straight married guy get all gayed up. Gay me up willow!
Let's gay! Although I gotta say Joss.....Nathan IS prettier.....

It also made me a little sad reading his words, because, you know, no new Buffyverse/Angelverse from the creator.

I didn't get that impression at all. I've no doubt that eventually, we will get more Joss-created stories featuring our slayer and/or her vamps. It just may take a while.

Madhatter: I didn't for a second think that your post related or referred to mine. And all the subsequent comments about the sarcasm font sprung from my silliness. This: "it seems to me if Whedonesque-rs can get JW's dry humor, they can surely get mine" was a reference to a generic board member, not to you.
No harm, no foul, no more comments. Don't give up. :)
"when I posted my above statement, SoddingNancyTribe wasn't even in the thread" - see, this is my problem. Lately I've been feeling totally out-of-thread. Just gotta get more thready.

I thought I heard Gina Torres doing the voiceover for a -- gasp! -- Bush campain ad. Anyone able to confirm that, or the Downy ad? I hope I'm wrong.

And I can't really see anybody else talking about what you said or taking it out of context either. Everyone was just enthused about the sarcasm purple. Cuz we're all a sarcastic bunch;-)

Incidentally, I may never forgive Joss for scheduling Serenity's opening for the same night as my 8th wedding anniversary. Instead of a leisurely Thai meal out on the town and, y'know, other unprintable stuff, I have to go sit in a movie theater with a bunch of maniacally enthusiastic people dressed in shades of brown (whether or not any of them will happen to be friends of mine is immaterial) and forcibly enjoy myself. (Probably several times!) I ask you: Is this fair?
Actually, I'm expecting some seriously snuggle-worthy moments amongst all the mordantly witty repartee and killin'. Kind of like marriage, when you think about it.
[Edited because the sarcasm font is evil in its beauty, and seduced me away from the economy and grace of the occasional emoticon, into a double post. The horror. Oh, and yeah, serves me right!]

Willowy - "I didn't get that impression at all. I've no doubt that eventually, we will get more Joss-created stories featuring our slayer and/or her vamps. It just may take a while."
I was wondering where Ditz got that impression myself. As Dreamlogic pointed out this is posted at a Serenity board so it would be unlikely that he would add "By the way, more slayerverse coming soon!" at the end of his post. Kinda disrespectful to the Serenity guys.
As for Serenity, i have to admit that i'm looking forward to seeing this a lot more than i thought i would be. I'm not a science fiction fan by any stretch of the imagination. I don't watch a lot of television but my love of all things supernatural got me addicted to the slayerverse. Firefly was never going to be as important to me as Buffy or Angel became but i watched it out of loyalty to Joss. I really did enjoy the show and thought it deserved to continue (it was a Joss Whedon creation afterall), probably due to the fact it avoided all the usual scifi stereotypes that you see on Star Trek and the various other shows. No bumpy headed or pointy eared but otherwise totally human looking aliens for Joss.
Whilst my personal tastes mean that i would much rather we were looking forward to the first in a possible trilogy of Buffy/Angel movies i'm still going to be there for the opening night of Serenity.

I was feeling a little blue (as opposed to 'pretty purple') and this comment was released from my fingers. I understand that his post was totally in respect to his excitment over Serenity, and definitely is not the forum for any Buffy/Angel talk. Hey, I loved Firefly and am really excited as well that I will get to see the story continue on the silver screen. Greedily, I just want more from the Buffy/Angelverses, and it is all 'ifs and buts' on that front.
Sorry if I caused unnecessary comment, it was probably the wrong time and place for me to channel. Love you Joss!

Does this mean Joss gets to sing '...and I did it myyyy waaaaay!' at the premiere?
