100 Sexiest Movie Stars. Empire Magazine has compiled a list of the 100 sexiest stars (as voted for by the public) and one Buffyverse actor/actress has charted, but who is it and at what position did they enter?

By the way, I'd just like to say how much Number 1 gets on my nerves.

She's so posh its annoying!

Well, Apocalypse, you should know the first rule of Whedonesque Club is: nobody catches up with Simon. And the second rule of Whedonesque Club is: nobody catches up with . . . wait, that was the first rule.

Yep, most erotic film-stars *of all time*, and, um, Keira Knightley is number one? She's cute, in that "teenage sister of your girlfriend who is a little over-enthusiastic and friendly because she has a crush on you" kind of way, but, um, most *erotic*? And some strange "coincidence" that three of the top five were all in "Pirates of the Caribbean", n'est-ce pas? There's a deep conspiracy afoot here.

My explanation: the most erotic movie stars poll got inadvertently spliced with the "most requested interview for Teen Beat" poll. How else could Montgomery Clift appear on the same list as Kate Bosworth (who, as we all know, is way more erotic than Lauren Bacall because she, like, surfs in a bikini and stuff)?

Well the trouble (as some people would see it) with these polls is that the public votes for them, now it's only natural that modern movie stars would top the poll. Five years time, it'll be a new set of people. And if this was a poll decided by movie critics, it would be totally different.

18, 40, 48, 53, 54, 57, 76, 84, 85, 87, 100.

And I just can't agree with numbers: 9, 19, 25, 26, 27, 30, 38, 39, 41, 43, 44, 52, 59, 66, 72, 73, 75, 78,

Elijah Wood and Lindsey Lohan!? Aren't they like 12?? Well, they'll always look 12 to me.

Stupefied at the choice of Keira Knightley as number one. Unless this list isn't supposed to be numerically important. That is the only answer I will accept.

Erotic? Sensual? No offense, but she's a stick! She beat out Marilyn Monroe? Elizabeth Taylor in her heyday was waaay more sensuous (AND sumptuous!)...man, I could go on forever here...

Gotta agree with Salma Hayek though.

Rogue Slayer - I do not know most of the numbers you lister either however I may be able to help with two.

Paul Bettany was the Dr. in "Master and Commander" with Russell Crowe, he was Chaucer in "A Knight's Tale" which you most likely saw since Alan Tudyk was in it. I do quite like him but wouldn't put him in the top 100 sexy list - James and David are way more appealing.

Eva Mendes - If you saw "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" she was the daughter of Willen Dafoe's bad guy - she was seeing the Johnny Depp character but turned on him. I think she was also in "The Fast and the Furious 2" which wasn't near as good as the first one IMO

(84) Ioan Gruffud I wouldn't have heard of either except that he just got cast in the new FF movie in the role of Mr. Fantastic, ahead of Alexis Denisof;
(85) oft-imitated Louise Brooks is one of the great cinema sirens from the 20s and 30s. "Pandora's Box" is her most famous role, I think. Ms. Brooks certainly deserves to be in the list, IMO.
(87) Gael Garcia Bernal was one of the two lads in "Y Tu Mama Tambien", and is Che in the new flick, "Motorcycle Diaries". My acquaintances generally consider him to be a hottie.
(53) Clive Owen is an English actor, but right now I can't think of a single thing he's been in.

As for the others: Jason Isaacs, Zhang Ziyi, and Chiaki Kuriyama - I'm sorry, I haven't a clue.

Monica Bellucci is a cutie, but my fav Italian goddess remains Ornella Muti (Princess Aura in "Flash Gordon" was her only big English language feature), who, *sniff*, didn't make the top 100 . . . and what about Nastassja Kinski?

Chiaki Kuriyami is best known on our shores for playing the mace-wielding Go-Go Yubari in Kill Bill Vol. 1.

I can't possibly see how Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom could be in the top 5. But I do absolutely love Angelina Jolie, so her high ranking is certainly well deserved.

As for Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio, I could certainly go on and on explaining their appeal. But I'm not going to right now. :)

bloodflowers I'm with you on the DiCaprio thing.

I think the appeal with Tom Cruise is that some people like their movie heroes to be good people in real life too, and Cruise seems to fit that. He's always doing charity things and saving people from burning cars. Megawatt smiles are nice too, especially if the teeth are just a leeetle bit crooked.

Brad Pitt has something unidentifiable, I must admit. I don't usually go for blondie-bears, preferring the dark, broody, piercing kinda guy, but Pitt just has that bankable grace and beauty. I also think that both he and Cruise have got that "serial monogamy" thing going that women love.

Edited to add that my eight-year-old son's name is Tristan. Yes, yes...that's why.

A local radio show was talking about what I believe to be this same list. Jennifer Connely was listed as higher than Marilyn Monroe. That alone tells me this list is not worth a click. Sofia Loren anywhere? Mae West? Audrey Hepburn? I don't even know who Keira Knightley is nor do I care. Janeane Garofalo and Amber Benson would be on my personal list, but it doesn't sound like they're mentioned anywhere. As for men, are James Dean or Sean Connery even listed? I mean I'm hetero and even I know those two guys belong on the list before Johnny Depp! Why is Orlando Bloom in the top five? That's shameful. I don't even wanna lend credence to such a list.

Not to worry, ZachsMind - James Dean (#82) and Sean Connery (#50) are both listed (as are other a few other classics like Paul Newman and Marlon Brando), but the fact that both Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood are ahead of them says a lot. (On the other hand, i can deal with Johnny Depp being fairly high up. Perhaps not higher than Newman or Connery, but still... Mmmmm...)
I never give much credence to lists like this – usually favoring, as someone mentioned, whoever's in the news right now, and done by mass voting – but this one seems particularly egregious. And as far as buffyverse actors go – SMG is fine, but i would say Alyson Hannigan, Eliza Dushku, James Marsters, and a few others have as much if not more sex appeal....

As for Orlando Bloom - he is a beautiful man and I'm fond of his Errol Flynn imitation in Pirates. And Flynn should be on the list too!

Cute, smart, precocious, but sexy? Pullleeeese . . . (and just so you know, I think "smart" is also a leading requirement in the sexy department)

Now, let me add some deserving (female) Asians to the oh-so-western list aside from the smart, sexy and gorgeous Zhang Zi Yi and Chiaki Kuriyama: Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, etc.), Maggie Cheung (Hero, Mood for Love), Gong Li (Zhou Yu's Train, Raise Red Lanern), stunning Taiwanese Shu Qi (Transporter, My Name is Nobody), just to start.

I actually agree that the following people deserve to be on the list: Keira Knightly, Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Colin Farrell, Natalie Portman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Cameron Diaz, Ewan McGregor, Liv Tyler, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Lopez, Elisha Cuthbert, Katie Holmes, River Phoenix, Cary Grant, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Drew Barrymore, and The Rock. Plus probably others I'm not too familiar with.

And may I say ewwwwww! about Kate Winslet, Sean Bean, Richard Gere, Elijah Wood, and Viggo Mortensen. How'd they get on the list?

And we are missing A LOT of Buffyverse people.

For the final unknown on Rogue Slayer's list, Zhang Ziyi was the young girl in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and I believe she was in the recent "Hero" as well.

Keira is quite beautiful, if a bit young, but I doubt she would be at the top of my list, were I to make one.
