A whole bunch of stars to join Joss at L.A. High Stakes party.
Alyson Hannigan, Nick Brendon, Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, J. August Richards, Tom Lenk, Danny Strong, Julie Benz, Nathan Fillion, Amber Benson, Adam Busch and the writers will attend this event on Sunday.
Still not sure what the J stands for.

If I beg my parents to let me and RogueSlayer go....will I go to a very special place in hell???? Mom's a big Buffy/Angel fan....she might understand! Dad of course thinks the shows are just 'weird'.....Ah it's not done, it's just not done! Is it??
Did I mention "Aaargh!!!'??

I'm a little perplexed about whether or not SMG is a Republican or not. I had heard she was a Democrat until these recent mentions of her. I had heard Freddie was a Republican and she was a Democrat and I was thinking I wouldn't want to live in that house but maybe she converted for the sake of her marriage.
I bet it is Alyson and Eliza because we had heard that both of them have been active this election.

I didn't know she was pregnant, it will possibly make my photo with her at Halloween different. Giving the limited questions I could ask, there's better things I could ask her then travel things.

"Not Sarah Michelle (at least not yet), but the very next best thing!!" I'm convinced Herc's talking about Aly as one of the two rumored additional actresses. Maybe the other is Amber or Stephanie Romanov. Or maybe Kristine Sutherland? Oy, I'm just speculating out of fan excitement. I know nothing.
phlebotinin | October 22, 18:53 CET
Ruadh | October 22, 19:01 CET
My guess for actresses is Aly and Eliza, cos both have been active in support of Kerry already, and Herc did seem to hint that it would be like the "really big" stars - which I read as being the most (commercially) popular.
I'm trying ever so hard not to bite on the SMG political affiliation suggestion . . . still trying . . . suffice it to say, I've seen no evidence that she's anything other than apolitical and uninvolved. blwessels: given the personalities involved, I seriously doubt that she would convert for the sake of the marriage. But certainly, she won't be doing Kerry fundraisers because (a) she's booked solid with Grudge promos; and (b) it means large groups of strangers and she's repeatedly said she's not down with that; and (c) see no political affiliation comment above.

I was refering to asking her this Sunday and not at the event - cause I'd like to know if she is actually going to be able to be there, also if you read the Halloween site there is no guarantee she will do photo ops - the only ones who will be doing them without a doubt are James and David.
Are you going to Halloween?, if anyone here attending Halloween 2004 at London, let me know, my hair is clean shaven, 6ft 1, Indian, if you spot me, say hello:D

*sniff* And to think I'm flying out for my first visit there only a week later. And my birthday is the following weekend. The timing is just. all. wrong. But my friend insists on getting married whenever she and her fellow want to, so what can I do? ;)
Crossing my fingers that there'll be a way we can check in virtually. (SNT, praying that your babysitting sitch works out so you and your wireless laptop can keep the rest of us in the loop. Um, providing you can type really fast and take dictation. :)

Just what some people will go through to get out of the house w/o having to bring the kids. (takes a moment, hangs his head, slowly shakes it side to side, and looks a little disappointed.)
Keep up the brave faces, though, people. I think I understand now. Lotta cool people to meet. Sexy actors. Genius producer. Yup, that's gotta be it. Nobody in their right mind would stump for a slimy politician, on _either_ side of the aisle. I wont tell anybody. Secret's safe with me ... for a price: I want transcripts. But leave out the sordid details. In other words, no politics, if that's at all possible. At least sugar-coat them for me and the other tender souls out here who may not share your leanings. Yep, that's right. I'm asking you to edit Joss if he gets too out of hand and starts talking trash about my bully with the stupid grin and the funny walk. I know, not goinna happen, but I can ask, can't I? What's that? I'm sorry, again please? No?
[I just can't help myself. I honestly, truely tried to restrain. I guess I'm just no good. To wit:
why anybody would choose the most powerful person in the world based on his smile (goofy or otherwise) is beyond me.
There. Got it out of my system. There's really no need to explain, I feel better. I'll get out of your hair now. (turns and heads for the door.)]

Ed you're doing happy dances? How goofy must've been? Was it more in the line of Dance of Joy, Anya's money dance, Angel's party dancing, the Snoopy dance, or something else even funnier? LOL!!!
Congrats for both of you (Ed and Rogue), so we'll also be hearing (well, reading to be semantically exact) some reports from you guys. Great.
For the lost foreigners (who might as well ETs, cause we can only cheer or blame from afar) like myself, at what time will this be held, so I'll be able to calculate the right time here in my side of the planet to be online. Yes, I know I could check the link, but I'd be safer if someone actually told me in the thread, so I won't forget the time.
Hope everyone who's going have fun. Have fun all of us who can't be there.

It's probably a good thing that I live on the other coast ... faced with the reality of Alexis and Nathan in one room, *tingles* it's entirely possible I would spontaneously combust, implode, or both. (Certainly a distraction from the more important issues under discussion, not to mention "eww.")

Well, it was fairly original if I do say so myself. But if I have to choose, I'd say it came closest to a cross between Numfar and Angel's party dance. Except more fluent. And sillier.
"Congrats for both of you (Ed and Rogue), so we'll also be hearing (well, reading to be semantically exact) some reports from you guys. Great."
"Wow, can't wait to read all your reports!! I know you guys will not let us down after reading your convention reports! I feel like it's Christams and I'm not even going!!!!"
I can probably give m report now....we went in. I somehow ran into Amber and Aly who smiled and said hi. I opened my mouth to speak and the next thing I know I'm staring at the ceiling of the ambulance......
Eh, I don't even know if you get to mingle and if so, you probably have to fight through crowds of fans anyhoo. Still. Eep!
Well, we got an email with the location in it. Reaaally close to us. Yay! I do so love livin' in Lala-land.....

Though this will no doubt break Von Trier's 8th rule of "No genre films" and come to think of it the sixth rule of no superficial action. But apart from that, I reckon it would work. Well probably. It's worth a try ;).
Simon | October 23, 22:45 CET
I RSVP-d Marsia on Friday and got confirmation from her that I was on the list. Unfortunately, since I was using my work e-mail, she has doubtless sent the location confirmation to that e-mail, which I can't check from home. I've e-mailed her again from my home e-mail address (noted on my profile), but received no response yet.
Can anyone in the know please e-mail me the event address? Otherwise, I shall have to think up drastic action. Hopefully short of cruising Hollywood tomorrow looking for a likely place . . .

I'll take it anyway and suss out the situation there - I anticipate there being thousands of crazed fans impeding any and all access to the celebs, so I have it in mind to wear a name-badge saying "Sodding Nancy Tribe. ...here we go. This is from the email about the event from office o' whedon.
When: Sunday, October 24, 2004, from 1:00pm to
4:30pm
Where: CineSpace, 6356 Hollywood Blvd. 2nd Floor,
Hollywood, CA 90028
$50.00 (payable at the door
or online at www.johnkerry.com)
Allyson | October 24, 03:55 CET
I know you are joking, SoddingNancyTribe, but if I can be serious for a minute, we'd appreciate it if people did not pass themselves off as 'representatives' of Whedonesque.com at any event without consulting Simon or myself in advance.
Caroline | October 24, 04:13 CET
I'd buy one in a heartbeat! :)
Willowy | October 24, 04:20 CET
They have room for a few 100 and that's all that is going to be admitted cause that's how many RSVP's they had.
I didn't RSVP. I guess I'm not going. Huh.
Allyson | October 24, 04:30 CET
Well, I was trying to think of some witty (yet obedient) response to Caroline's chide, but it turns out it's all moot. Just got the reply from Marsia (who, it must be emphasized, is awfully nice):
"No kids under 14 and no laptops. Take lots of notes!! And cameras are okay (I'll hit you up for copies later so please take some of me:-] )"
So looks like no posting from me. Maybe some one with, ehm, more *influence* can get a message through. Otherwise, reportage from me will be presented Sunday evening.

Gotcha! We'll pretend we've never even heard of the site. "Whedonesk?";-)
EdDantes | October 24, 05:22 CET
I wish I knew the answer, marmoset, but it seems from all I've seen that the High Stakes folks seem to be getting to the emails as quickly as possible. They're probably under siege with questions since the event is less than 24 hours away, and it seems to be a small group organizing it so maybe just a little bit of patience is in order and you'll get your answer soon.

@Willowy: ahem, yes, t-shirts, that's on the neverending list... perhaps after I'm done redesigning U2log.com. I know I'd like them to be black, but CafePress don't do black shirts. This is a problem.
@SoddingNancyTribe: No laptops, eh? Course you can blog from PDA's and mobile phones too...
@EdDantes: Heh, Whedonwhatnow? No, we've no problem with anyone saying they're Whedonesque regulars. In fact... go forth and multiply! But anything involving 'official' requests, like asking for access to events, and so on, we'd like to keep that under control so to say.
