October 22 2004

A whole bunch of stars to join Joss at L.A. High Stakes party. Alyson Hannigan, Nick Brendon, Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, J. August Richards, Tom Lenk, Danny Strong, Julie Benz, Nathan Fillion, Amber Benson, Adam Busch and the writers will attend this event on Sunday.

Still not sure what the J stands for.

It stands for Jaime which is prounounced "Hai-me".

:)
Well SNT, you now have one excellent party to attend if you like, since your not-quite-a-shindig didn't happen. :)
Hold IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If Acker is in LA this Sunday and she is 8 monthes along, I need to know if we can ask her a question - such as is she allowed to do any air travel since she is suppose to be in London on Halloween?????
Thank you :).
RavenU: I remember looking into the question of whether air travel is safe when my wife was in the mid- to late-stages of pregnancy. The upshot is, there's no real medical consensus. Pregnant women are certainly advised to take the usual precautions, and some airlines require a doctor's certificate in the last month (mostly because they think a woman might give birth on the plane), but in general, unless the woman is at risk of pre-term labor, there's no problem. So if Amy wants to fly, it shouldn't be an issue.

Yeh, Angela, now all I need is babysitting and a cool Hollywood outfit. Any volunteers (for either the sitting or the outfit)?
SNT - Oops, forgot about the kids. Sometimes I forget things...like *checking my email* :)
Ah man!! This is so close to us! I'm dying here! Why did they have to hold it NOW, while my parents are here! And right before they leave?? Argh! Joss? Amy? J? Even more?? Could it be Aly and Alexis?? Aaaargh!!! This is a 1000 times worse than just missing it as a phonecall!

If I beg my parents to let me and RogueSlayer go....will I go to a very special place in hell???? Mom's a big Buffy/Angel fan....she might understand! Dad of course thinks the shows are just 'weird'.....Ah it's not done, it's just not done! Is it??

Did I mention "Aaargh!!!'??
Ed - you forgot Marsters (but I'm sure Rouge hasn't), I think he would show if he's in town as well and we know Danny Strong is stomping for Kerry and might jump at this chance to be there. Why don't you take your parents with you - it's only a few hours and it would give them a chance to see .... well that I don't know but it might be an interesting perspectative for them to view. Just a thought.
Argh! I'm with you Ed...I'm dying to go, but I have a pack of cub scouts from 1:30 to 4:30 and I just can't see it happening. I wish I could go late, even if Joss was gone, just to hang out and support the cause.
My guess for the two actresses would be Alyson and Amber or maybe Alyson and Eliza.
Well I know we can rule out it being Emma and Sarah G. :)
Hey Ed, maybe you could bring your folks along?! What would the rules be on that sort of thing? Would they have to pay too or because they can't vote anyway, maybe they could just sit and enjoy being there.

I'm a little perplexed about whether or not SMG is a Republican or not. I had heard she was a Democrat until these recent mentions of her. I had heard Freddie was a Republican and she was a Democrat and I was thinking I wouldn't want to live in that house but maybe she converted for the sake of her marriage.

I bet it is Alyson and Eliza because we had heard that both of them have been active this election.
RavenU |

I didn't know she was pregnant, it will possibly make my photo with her at Halloween different. Giving the limited questions I could ask, there's better things I could ask her then travel things.
I was refering to asking her this Sunday and not at the event - cause I'd like to know if she is actually going to be able to be there, also if you read the Halloween site there is no guarantee she will do photo ops - the only ones who will be doing them without a doubt are James and David.
bl, I think the High Stakes website mentions that only US citizens and Green Card holders can attend the parties. I guess aliens can't help the election Cause. And there's something wbout campaign finance too, isn't there????
WWBD - I think the campaign finance rules are why the parties are restricted this way. I'm not checking id's at the door but the idea is that we don't want politicians in the debt of oh, I don't know, Kim Jong Il.
I'm envious of all you LA folks. Sounds like a fabulous party....
Joss + Buffyverse stars + good cause (according to my politics at least) = amazing event.
Thanks to both WWBD and Gingeriffic for the insight. Ed, are your parents leaving that night or will they still be visiting for a few days? If the latter, maybe they'd enjoy a night alone, sightseeing. Maybe you could treat them to a night out alone. You could just tell your dad it's a political fundraiser for your candidate (which is true) and don't have to mention the whole Joss Whedon part of it!
This just keeps getting better and better (for Kerry supporters like me, anyway).

EdDantes, I don't envy you your Sunday conundrum. Good luck with that.
EdDantes, why can't you take your mom & dad? My dad would love Buffy I know but my mom hates all fantasy stuff... we dragged her to Spider-Man 2 and her "this is ridiculous" muttering got a bit old but my dad & I were happy :-)
...I think the High Stakes website mentions that only US citizens and Green Card holders can attend the parties.

Yes, that's US law, if there'e a political affiliation.
EdDantesóIf your momís a Buffy/Angel fan (what a cool mom!) Iím sure she would understand how important this is. As for your dad, you can tell him itís to support not only the Kerry/Edwards campaign, but the future of the planet. Guilt trips, whining and pouting are also sometimes useful. "Mom, Dad, if you *really* love me..." : )
I have a solution for SNT and EdDantes: how about EdDantes's parents babysitting SNT's kids? Surely that's possible? :)

"Not Sarah Michelle (at least not yet), but the very next best thing!!" I'm convinced Herc's talking about Aly as one of the two rumored additional actresses. Maybe the other is Amber or Stephanie Romanov. Or maybe Kristine Sutherland? Oy, I'm just speculating out of fan excitement. I know nothing.
Too bad about the non-US citizen restriction. Sinc US foreign and economic policy affects just about the entire world, I've always thought that the rest of us should get a say as well ;-)
Well, I think Phleb's suggestion is the best I've read so far. :)

My guess for actresses is Aly and Eliza, cos both have been active in support of Kerry already, and Herc did seem to hint that it would be like the "really big" stars - which I read as being the most (commercially) popular.

I'm trying ever so hard not to bite on the SMG political affiliation suggestion . . . still trying . . . suffice it to say, I've seen no evidence that she's anything other than apolitical and uninvolved. blwessels: given the personalities involved, I seriously doubt that she would convert for the sake of the marriage. But certainly, she won't be doing Kerry fundraisers because (a) she's booked solid with Grudge promos; and (b) it means large groups of strangers and she's repeatedly said she's not down with that; and (c) see no political affiliation comment above.
Alyson and Alexis are signed on. Julie Benz is a possible but not yet confirmed.
I don't know why, but I suddenly thought it would be so very very cool if Alexis posted to Whedonesque.
I thought so too, Caroline, so I suggested that maybe they try and get a computer set up so that the guests can post to the thread Simon is setting up. I don't know if that is possible at this point because it's so late, but I thought that it would be a nice opportunity for people to have a "virtual" party, here, if they could manage it.

Keeping my fingers crossed. If I had a laptop, I'd definately bring it, but I don't, because I AM SO POOR.
RavenU
I was refering to asking her this Sunday and not at the event - cause I'd like to know if she is actually going to be able to be there, also if you read the Halloween site there is no guarantee she will do photo ops - the only ones who will be doing them without a doubt are James and David.

Are you going to Halloween?, if anyone here attending Halloween 2004 at London, let me know, my hair is clean shaven, 6ft 1, Indian, if you spot me, say hello:D
I have a laptop, wireless for net access. I don't have babysitters. I've e-mailed Marsia and Herc (they're the hosts, right?) re advisability of bringing kids. I wait with bated, and possibly baited, breath.
Freddie Prinze jr. is a Republican? I don't know why I'm surprised, it's just striking me as weird. Anyway, congratulations to all you lucky dogs who get to go to this. So jealous now.
SoddingNancyTribe, according to Herc at AICN, there is going to be a public venue, to be finalized this morning. I'm checking and waiting jitteringly (not a word?) to RSVP.
Right, dreamlogic, public venue. But the party listed at High Stakes to be hosted by Herc and Marsia (Mersia?) is the same one that JW et aly will be at, right? Right? Anyone?

[ edited by buffelina on 2010-01-14 16:46 ]
Update: according to the Ain't it Cool page, the additional guest list now includes all of Hannigan, Brend[o]n, Acker, Denisof, Richards, Lenk, Strong, and Benz, as well as several writers!
Holy cow! Is Herc correct?
Whoa, that is so exciting!
I emailed to RSVP, hope it worked. The RSVP function on the High Stakes page is missing (yesterday it was broken). The email function there doesn't work for me. However, there is an email address at the John Kerry events site here, scroll down to the 24th. Click on the title link and you can request an invitation.

This is so wonderful, Joss plus all the actors and writers coming out to participate and rub elbows with all you lucky L.A. peeps.

*sniff* And to think I'm flying out for my first visit there only a week later. And my birthday is the following weekend. The timing is just. all. wrong. But my friend insists on getting married whenever she and her fellow want to, so what can I do? ;)

Crossing my fingers that there'll be a way we can check in virtually. (SNT, praying that your babysitting sitch works out so you and your wireless laptop can keep the rest of us in the loop. Um, providing you can type really fast and take dictation. :)
Yay! There's a party in my area! I RSVP'd...we'll see if I get an invitation!

I'd host one, but my place is small & I live way in the boonies, so...
Wah! I wanna go. Hope you guys who get to go have fun. That's a *terrific* list of guests. Does someone have a voicerecorder? Someone wanna borrow mine? ;)
I got a nice e-mail back from Marsia (High Stakes Hollywood co-host). The bringing the kids question is now moot, however, since I have successfully lined up a babysitter for Sunday. YAY!

I shall be attending and I shall be taking my laptop, so you folks should expect some form of synchronous or simultaneous reportage from Hollywood. And if I (we) are really in luck, it'll be from the horse's mouth. And what a stable awaits . . . If it comes to pass, my keyboard may never recover. Fingers crossed.

Oh and teenes: good idea. I think my wife (ex-journalist that she is) has a voice-recorder. I'll try to remember that too.
SNT - Congratulations!!! Have a great time - tell us all about it - and if your wife doesn't still have a voice-recorder, and you and teenes can't work something out, I can FedEx you one today if you like, along with some blank microcassettes.
thanks bovik, I've re written my link for the updated news.
Aw, shucks, SNT, I'm thrilled for you!!!! I'm also wildly envious, but at least I'm lucky enough to be able to attend one of the parties elsewhere. So I should shut up.

Enjoy it and learn much. YAY for you!
*sigh* If only I lived in LA...

Anyone in Pennsylvania up to attending (that is, if I can get my act together and host one) or hosting one of these things?
Congrats SNT, so wish I could join you. I will be hanging out with my cub scouts while you have all the fun.
Where in PA are you MalloryM? I'm theoretically hosting one in Phila. but no one has RSVP'd yet. Your welcome to come if it's not too far for you.
I'm around an hour and 45 minutes away at the most. I know a few people who would come as well.
I'll be bringing my Nikon and my cameraphone for the L.A. event. Should be great. :)
Well, please, by all means come! It's very last minute so it's not going to be remotely fancy but I can definitely accomodate a large group so the more the merrier. The info is on the Kerry site.
I keep telling myself that JFK is just part of an elaborate excuse/smoke-screen/cover-up for your way-cool party.
Just what some people will go through to get out of the house w/o having to bring the kids. (takes a moment, hangs his head, slowly shakes it side to side, and looks a little disappointed.)

Keep up the brave faces, though, people. I think I understand now. Lotta cool people to meet. Sexy actors. Genius producer. Yup, that's gotta be it. Nobody in their right mind would stump for a slimy politician, on _either_ side of the aisle. I wont tell anybody. Secret's safe with me ... for a price: I want transcripts. But leave out the sordid details. In other words, no politics, if that's at all possible. At least sugar-coat them for me and the other tender souls out here who may not share your leanings. Yep, that's right. I'm asking you to edit Joss if he gets too out of hand and starts talking trash about my bully with the stupid grin and the funny walk. I know, not goinna happen, but I can ask, can't I? What's that? I'm sorry, again please? No?

[I just can't help myself. I honestly, truely tried to restrain. I guess I'm just no good. To wit:
why anybody would choose the most powerful person in the world based on his smile (goofy or otherwise) is beyond me.
There. Got it out of my system. There's really no need to explain, I feel better. I'll get out of your hair now. (turns and heads for the door.)]
Just got word that Nathan Fillion has been added.
Vaneki, these networked parties/fundraisers are sincerely felt efforts on the parts of all involved. And I rather think that Joss and all others who share his political sentiments have reasons for voting for Kerry other than disliking Bush's grin.

Nathan Fillion!?! Yowza! This is becoming almost unreal. I'm starting to fantasize about ultra-cheap flights from D.C. to L.A. at this point.
I'll be at the Hollywood party with tape recorder. It'll be ten hours on the road Sunday, at least, but worth it :)! Nathan Fillion!
Amber Benson's just been added too. :)
And Adam Busch. He's on Allyson's recent post to Bronze Beta listing guests.
You know my wife said to me once "Do you want to live in California (for that is where is she from) or Northern Ireland?".

I really I think made the wrong choice. To those going, I hope you have the best time :).

And vanekl, you're skating on very thin ice here. Watch what you say or you're banned.
Whoa!! Nathan Fillion? Amber Benson? Adam Busch?

*sobs*

My bf is going to have one bitter, bitter person photographing his racing this weekend.

And I'm glad to hear people will be having various photographic and recording devices (anyone bringing a camcorder to the LA party? ;)) and that we'll get to hear reports, b/c this? Sounds like an incredible event. Also glad that no one needs mine, b/c it's also my mp3 player and I'm kind of attached at the hip to it =).
They should set up computers at the party so EVERYBODY can post to Whedonesque all at once. ;-)
OMG - I am such a wh*re - I just booked a flight to LA for Sunday. I really do not need to be doing this. LOL - I am now offically beyond insane.
RavenU - more power to you! Where are you flying from?

You are so not insane.
Heh RavenU, I don't blame you one bit. I'm sitting here positively green. Thank goodness for Whedonesquers! I just know you guys will make us unable-to-goers feel like we were there.

Have fun everyone who's going!

Oh and if Tom Lenk is a sourpuss again? Someone step on his toe for me. ;)
Yay! We are officially free from in-law responsibility as my hubby told his mom what was going on, and as his mom loves Buffy/Angel/Firefly, and BOTH his parents hate Bush, they insisted we go! So we are on the RSVP list now. !!! I would squee, but I'm SO not a squee type....ok, I lie. Squeeeee!!!!

And hubby is currently doing the cutest little happy dance I ever saw.....he finally gets to see his, erm, Aly in person.

And I will gladly step on Tom Lenk's toe! Just for the hell of it!
Ah, satisfaction. THANK you, Rogue Slayer!
phlebotinin - Dayton OH $300 for the day was the cheapest I could find that I could get to.
*does insane Happy Dance that would make Numfar blush*

*be glad you can't see it*

*I'm serious. Your brain would not be able to process the visuals*
Right on, RavenU! If I could at all manage it, I'd be out there in a New York minute along with you. Remember: not insane. Enjoy yourselves immensely, all of you - RavenU, SNT, Oddjob, Rogue Slayer & hubby (squeeee!), dreamlogic and everyone else lucky enough to be there. Such a Whedonverse assemblage in one place.....must go off and hyperventilate now.
Just went to almost insane mode when I saw the updated list of people who'll be present. Will there be any writer there also? Why am I not american. Why am I not in LA? Why? WHY?WHYYYYYYYYYY? (Sounding as whiny as I can get)

Ed you're doing happy dances? How goofy must've been? Was it more in the line of Dance of Joy, Anya's money dance, Angel's party dancing, the Snoopy dance, or something else even funnier? LOL!!!

Congrats for both of you (Ed and Rogue), so we'll also be hearing (well, reading to be semantically exact) some reports from you guys. Great.

For the lost foreigners (who might as well ETs, cause we can only cheer or blame from afar) like myself, at what time will this be held, so I'll be able to calculate the right time here in my side of the planet to be online. Yes, I know I could check the link, but I'd be safer if someone actually told me in the thread, so I won't forget the time.

Hope everyone who's going have fun. Have fun all of us who can't be there.

[ edited by Numfar PTB on 2004-10-23 04:27 ]
Wow, can't wait to read all your reports!! I know you guys will not let us down after reading your convention reports! I feel like it's Christams and I'm not even going!!!!
Gawd Caroline! That would be incredible! How would that work? Would they all post under Joss' name, or do all the Whedonverse actors/writers have their own periwinkle account?
It's cool that so many people who've worked on Joss's shows are making themselves available to attend -- I hope Herc has a big house! (If not, I'd suggest a crowbar, some oil, and maybe an oxygen tank?)

It's probably a good thing that I live on the other coast ... faced with the reality of Alexis and Nathan in one room, *tingles* it's entirely possible I would spontaneously combust, implode, or both. (Certainly a distraction from the more important issues under discussion, not to mention "eww.")

*thinks happy Sunday thoughts* Can't wait!
Thats a very tempting name list.
Okay, I have decided to neglect my boy scouts and come anyway. I will feel terribly guilty, but if I don't go I will never forgive myself.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Mal'sGal, you wouldn't be Mal'sRealGal if you didn't go. Your boy scouts will survive.

Oop. Post-hastily amended, pending something intelligent to say since I missed catching phlebotinin's edit.

[Meanwhile, this space for rent.]

Sorry, Wiseblood! Edited after I realized I'm probably insane to even think of using miles.
Uh nevermind - I got an answer. :)

You didn't get a confirmation when you signed up, RavenU?
Yeah - but my mail is a little slow - so after the post i went and checked and there it was.
Do you have the location now, or do you need me to send it?
I got the location now thanks.
"Ed you're doing happy dances? How goofy must've been? Was it more in the line of Dance of Joy, Anya's money dance, Angel's party dancing, the Snoopy dance, or something else even funnier? LOL!!!"

Well, it was fairly original if I do say so myself. But if I have to choose, I'd say it came closest to a cross between Numfar and Angel's party dance. Except more fluent. And sillier.

"Congrats for both of you (Ed and Rogue), so we'll also be hearing (well, reading to be semantically exact) some reports from you guys. Great."

"Wow, can't wait to read all your reports!! I know you guys will not let us down after reading your convention reports! I feel like it's Christams and I'm not even going!!!!"

I can probably give m report now....we went in. I somehow ran into Amber and Aly who smiled and said hi. I opened my mouth to speak and the next thing I know I'm staring at the ceiling of the ambulance......

Eh, I don't even know if you get to mingle and if so, you probably have to fight through crowds of fans anyhoo. Still. Eep!

Well, we got an email with the location in it. Reaaally close to us. Yay! I do so love livin' in Lala-land.....
"Would they all post under Joss' name, or do all the Whedonverse actors/writers have their own periwinkle account?"

I'd be super fast in setting up accounts for anyone at the party that wanted them, fans or talent ;-)
Thankfully it starts at 5pm ET and not 5pm PT otherwise we Europeans would be staring glassly eyed at our computer screens in the wee hours of the morning reading all the reports.

Getting very excited about this :).
Green, green, green with envy ...
Please, prior to calling ambulances, ask AD when and what his next job is. Some of us are suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms.
Is that 9pm GMT?
That will be 10pm in the UK, you're one hour ahead of me? So 11 pm then?
For the 1st time ever I'm finding myself wishing I was American :) Damn it, why did I have to arrange to go out tomorrow night? I won't even be at a computer to live vicariously through the wonder that is the internet. Hmm I wonder if I can get away early :)
I wonder if mingling with the celebs (and Mr. Genius himself) will be possible at this shindig? Anyone know? I wonder, too, if folks other than Whedon will be joining in on the conference call.
Right here's the plan. Someone give Joss a handheld camera tomorrow, tell him to film the actors present and we can have a Buffyverse film Dogme style.

Though this will no doubt break Von Trier's 8th rule of "No genre films" and come to think of it the sixth rule of no superficial action. But apart from that, I reckon it would work. Well probably. It's worth a try ;).
OK, now I'm stuck without the address of the event . . .

I RSVP-d Marsia on Friday and got confirmation from her that I was on the list. Unfortunately, since I was using my work e-mail, she has doubtless sent the location confirmation to that e-mail, which I can't check from home. I've e-mailed her again from my home e-mail address (noted on my profile), but received no response yet.

Can anyone in the know please e-mail me the event address? Otherwise, I shall have to think up drastic action. Hopefully short of cruising Hollywood tomorrow looking for a likely place . . .
SNT - go to the link above Herc put the location on there.
SNT, the address is now posted on AICN. It's CineSpace or somesuch. Have a great time! :D
Cheers chaps!

BTW: I also asked Marsia about the propriety of bringing a laptop and doing some communication, but, obviously, no response on that one either. I'll take it anyway and suss out the situation there - I anticipate there being thousands of crazed fans impeding any and all access to the celebs, so I have it in mind to wear a name-badge saying "Sodding Nancy Tribe. Boy Reporter, Daily Whedonesque" and button-holing people for comments. It's a millon-to-one shot, but it might just work . . . :)
They have room for a few 100 and that's all that is going to be admitted cause that's how many RSVP's they had. Well at least that's what was said yesterday - I bet you got responses - they are probably in your office e-mail.

[ edited by RavenU on 2004-10-24 01:54 ]
SoddingNancyTribe, call the venue and ask if they have wireless available. Yes, it is at CineSpace, 2nd floor. Hang on.....
...here we go. This is from the email about the event from office o' whedon.

When: Sunday, October 24, 2004, from 1:00pm to
4:30pm

Where: CineSpace, 6356 Hollywood Blvd. 2nd Floor,
Hollywood, CA 90028

$50.00 (payable at the door
or online at www.johnkerry.com)
"I have it in mind to wear a name-badge saying "Sodding Nancy Tribe. Boy Reporter, Daily Whedonesque" and button-holing people for comments. It's a millon-to-one shot, but it might just work."

I know you are joking, SoddingNancyTribe, but if I can be serious for a minute, we'd appreciate it if people did not pass themselves off as 'representatives' of Whedonesque.com at any event without consulting Simon or myself in advance.
Speaking of identifying oneself as a Whedonesquer, Caroline, do you know what ever happened to the t-shirt idea?

I'd buy one in a heartbeat! :)
Caroline, I've been saying I'm you for WEEKS. Just so if you ever come here and claim to be you, everyone will think you're crazy.

They have room for a few 100 and that's all that is going to be admitted cause that's how many RSVP's they had.

I didn't RSVP. I guess I'm not going. Huh.
That's too bad, Allyson, I was really looking forward to meeting you. ;)

Well, I was trying to think of some witty (yet obedient) response to Caroline's chide, but it turns out it's all moot. Just got the reply from Marsia (who, it must be emphasized, is awfully nice):

"No kids under 14 and no laptops. Take lots of notes!! And cameras are okay (I'll hit you up for copies later so please take some of me:-] )"

So looks like no posting from me. Maybe some one with, ehm, more *influence* can get a message through. Otherwise, reportage from me will be presented Sunday evening.
Well you got until 6pm PT so you still have time to RSVP.
That's too bad, Allyson, I was really looking forward to meeting you. ;)

People always say that, BUT THEY NEVER REALLY MEAN IT.

Hee.

And then they say, they say, "I thought you would be taller."
Well you got until 6pm PT so you still have time to RSVP.

I RSVP'd but not with HighStakes. Now I'm confused.
I thought you said you didn't RSVP before.
Has anyone who is involved with one of the house parties gotten any exact info on how all this is working? I'm only getting intermittent responses from High Stakes and the Kerry site won't let me sign in or respond to my queries.
Well we RSVP-ed and we faxed the form Marsia sent us to show we made our contribution so we can head straight to the 'already paid' line tomorrow apparently. Yay! I usually hate waiting and tomorrow I'll probably hate it more! Eep! Damn, I'm just not going to come across as 'cool' enough....

So no laptops? But cameras are okay. That's cool. Although maybe we won't *look* cool.....hm. Maybe we should be more suave and take no pics. Nah not an option.

"I know you are joking, SoddingNancyTribe, but if I can be serious for a minute, we'd appreciate it if people did not pass themselves off as 'representatives' of Whedonesque.com at any event without consulting Simon or myself in advance."

Gotcha! We'll pretend we've never even heard of the site. "Whedonesk?";-)
I RSVP'd to the email sent out by the Whedon camp, but I didn't sign up for anything through Highstakes, and now I think maybe I was supposed to do both? I dunno.

I wish I knew the answer, marmoset, but it seems from all I've seen that the High Stakes folks seem to be getting to the emails as quickly as possible. They're probably under siege with questions since the event is less than 24 hours away, and it seems to be a small group organizing it so maybe just a little bit of patience is in order and you'll get your answer soon.
Hi! Sorry, if this question is a repeat (it would take me forever to read thru all 109 comments), but does anyone know how to obtain the individual call-in number to Joss' teleconference? On the John Kerry website it says if you contribute the min $35, they will email the call-in number to you so you can listen in to Joss. If anyone has any info, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
@Allyson: you wouldn't want to be me this week, but you're welcome to my identity any other time. I'm afraid it won't make you taller, though. Probably shorter. *weeps*

@Willowy: ahem, yes, t-shirts, that's on the neverending list... perhaps after I'm done redesigning U2log.com. I know I'd like them to be black, but CafePress don't do black shirts. This is a problem.

@SoddingNancyTribe: No laptops, eh? Course you can blog from PDA's and mobile phones too...

@EdDantes: Heh, Whedonwhatnow? No, we've no problem with anyone saying they're Whedonesque regulars. In fact... go forth and multiply! But anything involving 'official' requests, like asking for access to events, and so on, we'd like to keep that under control so to say.
Caroline, when you do the T-shirts - mugs and travel mugs with the Whedonesque logo would be great too. I can picture myself settling down in front of my PC with a Whedonesque mug firmly grasped in my hand getting ready to read the Whedonesque posts!
I'm 4 feet 10 inches, Caroline.

It looks like I'm covering the event for Popgurls, as of...three seconds ago. Better hop in the shower and find clean clothes.

TheSlayer246, where did you get that info? J's IMDB bio page lists him as Jaime (like eddy said), and I see no reason to doubt its accuracy.

It appears that his friends do call him 'Julie' (after the cruise director on Love Boat, of all things), as he reveals in this BBC interview. But it's rather unlikely that he considers that his legal name.
