News from Drew Goddard on first "Alias" ep and "Lost" rumor.

Dachelle writes " Just received an e-mail from him - Drew says his first episode of Alias will be episode nine, and is titled "Welcome to Liberty Village." He thinks it will air in February. Also, he says that it is not yet official that he is writing episode 16 of Lost, but will let me know if and when it is."

Thanks for the info. Shame about the nasty website though. It looks like it was put together by a bunch of kids.
Simon, thanks for the info and id'ing this site. About time Drew got his own site.
Madhatter, glad you appreciated the info, but DrewGoddard.com isn't new. The site's been running for over two years now (well, six months on Geocities, and then a year and a half at DrewGoddard.com).

Also, brob1, while Kelly, the site's co-designer, and I are both in our twenties, we try to remain kids at heart, so thanks! I hope you'll like the upcoming Alias-themed layout, which we've decided to render in crayon.
I have no problem with the website design. I, for one, am sick of some websites that start with a twenty minute flash animation, and then take five minutes to load the four thousand gifs to make up the page and so on. Web sites should be about the subject, not the designers showing off.
ABC should definitely pair Alias up with Lost on Wednesday nights. That would be the perfect timeslot, and since Lost is doing very well in the ratings, it would help Alias get more viewers.

This is sort of off topic, but does anyone know where I can find the ratings for all the Lost episodes so far?
Thanks Dachelle. Drew Goddard is one of my favorite 'verse writers and I applaud your work on this site. Wish to be a member when the site is ready.
electricspacegirl, the last viewing pulled 16.5 million viewers. The baseball season play-offs drew some people away, but the show still held well.
Madhatter - you can join now! Do you want to use Madhatter as your Minion name? E me at webmaster@drewgoddard.com and I'll get you signed up.

The new layout probably won't be up until December or so, since Kelly, my erstwhile co-designer, is in college and won't be able to seriously work on it until her break.

And electricspacegirl, I don't know of a site that breaks down all the ratings, but people generally post that info to the ratings thread on Television Without Pity's Lost forum. I agree with you about pairing Lost and Alias - I think it's a natural, what with them both being JJ Abrams shows, and can only help Alias.
Here are the ratings for all episodes of Lost so far:
1-Pilot, Pt1-18.65mil
2-Pilot, Pt2-16.3mil
3-Tabula Rasa- 16.7mil
4-Walkabout-18.2mil
5-White Rabbit-16.8mil
6-House of the Rising Sun-16.2mil
7-The Moth-18.7mil

So so far this season Lost has a 17.4mil avg, and it will probably stay around there for the rest of the season. Putting Alias right after Lost would be great. Right now the Bachelor is only getting around 8-9mil viewers and that is just about what Alias was getting last season, and even if Alias only improved a couple mil viewers then it would still be an improvement over the previous show in the timeslot.
Noted, Dachelle. Thanks again.
Thanks, Dhoffryn. That's good to know that Lost's high ratings are sticking. I think the reason for that is the continuing mystery. Each episode leaves you breathless with questions and word-of-mouth seems to be working for it. I read that during the pilot episode, half-way through the ratings jumped, which means people were calling their friends telling them "you have to watch this show!"

And Alias would be a perfect fit. The fans will follow it to Weds, and if they promote the time-change, they will have no problem finding it, and Lost fans will probably stick around to watch it too. So ABC really can't lose with that.
Lost/Alias Wednesday nights is a perfect fit. I've been an Alias fan from day one, and I'd frankly follow it wherever they put it, but this definitely makes the most sense, for all the reasons others have listed.
I never understand how show rating fluctuate so much. I mean pretty much you either watch a show or you don't. How do people who only watch a show like Lost or Alias or Buffy(one with continuity that matters)sometimes ever know what the hell is going on? Whats the point?
sTalking_Goat, one possible reason that ratings go up and down is that people work. I have only been able to catch two episodes because of my work schedule (White Rabbit and tonight's episode being the two that i've been able to watch). Unfortunately, the ratings don't take into account people that Tivo a show. I'm sure there's more people that watch Lost than what the Neilson's say there are.
