Said it before and i'll say it again. I love Charisma, i understand her need for regular work, i just can't get behind her decision to be a part of this dire television show.

Anthony on Monarch of the Glen, James on The Mountain, Charisma on Charmed? The rest of the cast of both shows either not working at all or accepting bit parts way below what they deserve. What is going wrong with the world?

Also Monarch of the Glen has been renewed for a seventh year and will be returning to British Screens in 2005. No word on ASH appearing on it, but if he does its steady work

Charmed is also steady work for Charisma, doesn't mean that it's a worthy role for her to be playing though. ;)

I think Anthony's various comments about how the writing on Monarch compares to Joss' work says it all! Having said that as long as he is getting paid then i guess it's better than nothing for the guy. Still say he deserves better though, they all do in fact.

The fact is that these actors have to work and if these roles are best they are being offered, this is what they are going to end up doing. I happen to think 'Charmed' is utterly appalling but I don't think any less of Charisma Carpenter because of her decision to appear in the show. I've never seen 'The Mountain', so I can't comment about that one. 'Monarch Of The Glen' is typical Sunday evening BBC tosh, but it has attracted other fine actors in addition to Tony Head.

Ted Casablanca, who I dislike rather a lot, did once make a good point when he said that SMG was the one most likely to become a genuine star because "she wants it the most". Obviously, there are other factors to be taken into consideration, but basically that's just the way it is.

Who knows what the future might hold? Any one of these actors could land themselves a juicy little role in a TV show or film. Luck is a big part of the game. In the meantime, if they all get to keep on working that is no bad thing.

Grounded! How can you say that! You obviously didnt watch "Maya's Mad Monday" on Corination Street last night otherwise I'm sure you would have been speaking differently. And what a cliffhanger it was! Will Sunita survive? Will Dev take his revenge on Maya! Will she end up going out of the street feet first? All this will be revealed on Wednesday nights edition as "Maya's revenge comes to a terrifying conclusion"

And anyway, Spooks is pretty good, even though Matthew McFaddyn and Keeley Hawes have left. Also I believe the writing for Nadia Almada's new single (which is currently Number One on the Hits Chart which i conclude IS ON TV!) is rather fantastic

So there is a glimmer of hope Grounded! Dont you be dissuaded!

With Charmed on for 7 years now - the long term outlook for the show doesnt look great. Im thrilled shes working and on one of my favorite shows, but I hope something else comes up for her!

Angel_1, there is another show on The WB that's lasted well over seven seasons, and that's 7th Heaven, which like Charmed, is also a Spelling production. So there still is hope that Charmed will be around for the forseeable future.

I like Charisma, and I love Charmed, so I think this would be a perfect fit for her.

I would love to see her character become possessed by the soul of Prue, and then they'd have a fourth sister who was part Seer, part Charmed One. It could be awesome.

Say what you will about Charmed, but it's a better show for Charisma than ex-LAX.

I don't care how much CC they put in Charmed, I just can't handle it. There's still way too much Milano going on there for me.

If she must be on the WB, why can't Charisma get on Gilmour Girls, where she can be pretty and snarky and bolstered by the best writing that network currently has to offer? Doesn't Lorelai have, like, an old, wacky girlfriend from her pre-Star's Hollow days -- replete with stories of shocking misbehavior and maybe with a dark past all her own -- that could suddenly show up?

Yes there's nothing wrong with some fluff, but GOD. Everytime I try to watch Charmed it does something to piss me off. It pisses me off even more that this tripe is still on the air while good and great shows are cancelled every season. Its a travesty. There are few thing I loathe as much.

That is indeed Wise, Blood. Gilmore Girls is a perfect match for Charisma with it's rapid-fire patter of insults and clever comebacks. I don't know if she could keep up with Lauren Graham, but I'd love to see her try- and OOOOOHH- how about a snipfest with *Emily*! That would peel the wallpaper!

Glad to see they're sticking with the fresh and innovative approach. (Glad I remembered how to do that, 'cause sometimes a wink just doesn't cut it.)

It's such a shame we never got the chance to do the Lost -- Angel block on Wednesday nights. Two hours of great genre entertainment that would have paved over any bumps in the middle of the week very nicely. Bad Robots and Mutant Enemies seem like they would have been a match made in heaven (my heaven being populated with some fairly odd critters, admittedly).

Well I remember what Luke Perry said at the halloween event, you can wait for the great project, but it may or may not come or take a while, I gotta keep working.

She can't sit around and age and wait for great projects, but I understand why some see charmed as not a great role for her, angel set her benchmark, angel happens to be one of my all time favorite shows, so charmed looks like scraps in comparison, but I wish Charisma well, hopefully this is just transitional period, hollywood should offer her something.

What Joss done with his buffy/angel actors, was cast them in roles they were suited for, very well written for, how many more actors out there would shine if given similar chances. Julie Benz, Juliet Landau, great actresses, would like them to be in high profile flicks and tv again. David Boreanze's performances as Angelus, those should be blue prints for hollywood villian roles, David B I recon could be a great bad guy in films.

Kiefer Sutherland went missing in latter 90s, and came back with 24, so who knows, great chances do come around again at times.

Wiseblood the Gilmore Girls Idea is not a bad one.
I'm still hopeful that someday they might bring Tom Lenk up as a weird Yale alum, to cross paths with ROry and Danny Strong's Doyle.
And if Rebecca writes the episode, is a Mutant Enemy reunion all over again, even better if Charisma could be in this show.

I've watched some of the Charisma cameos in Charmed, not a good character at all, and Charmed writers and producers sometimes get some neat plot ideas, but everything get lost in the very bad bad writing. Am I the only one that gets annoyed by the fact that the show got an interesting concept with some potential that got all wacked by really bad writing and exagerrated exploitation.

Good for Charisma for landing a steady gig, even if it is on Charmed. The writing leaves something to be desired, but the show does have a fan base that might be different than the Buffyverse (people seeking mindless entertainment with lots of cleavage). I doubt the show will last past this season though. The first season comes out on DVD (R1) Feb. 1st and they're planning on releasing at least the first five seasons before the end of 2005, I doubt they'd even consider that if they thought the show would last much longer. Plus, as was mentioned above, the ratings are dropping and the current plotline for the season seems to be an attempt to wrap up everything. Time will tell, I suppose.

Edit: Just to clairify, I didn't mean to offend the people on this board that watch Charmed. Mindless entertainment isn't always a bad thing, I just prefer the older Charmed eps, where they actually kind of took themselfs more seriously. After Shannon left, the show fell about to me. I like Rose, but I really don't like where the show went.

I caught the scenes for next week's episode of Charmed before I watched James on The Mountain, and the Charmed promo actually said, "Charmed with Charisma!" It was sort of strange, but I was pleased that the WB treated Charisma Carpenter as someone that people would know of on a first-name basis.

Hey, maybe this will be like "The Practice" when they brought in James Spader. Everyone felt "The Practice" wasn't any good anymore (don't know, didn't watch it) and they bring in James Spader, fire everyone else, rename the show and it's a hit. Maybe Charisma will end up taking over the show, they fire the rest of the cast, rename it and it will get better?

Well, saw her on Charmed last night and unless they move back time (yet again, what a crock) she was vanquished. She was the focus of the show, though, I can't get over how good she looks; looks just like early Cordelia with the long hair (but with more cleavage). I can't see them keeping her on because she outshines the stars of the show. But, who knows?
