Blwessels, wonderful thought with beinging Darla into season five. Wow, that would've been interesting! Can you see a discussion between Angel, Illyria, and Darla? Whoa! There's so many things that 'should' have been for Angel. Hopefully, Joss will give us a peaceful (??) ending to this exchange.
I also wish all a Merry Christmas. Cheers!

I agree with all that, in fact it's taken me alot of time to get over that the show ended, but how I dealt with it, basically was, network tv is a weird thing, shows like Twin Peaks are embedded in cult tv, lasted 2 seasons, Fire Fly had 14 episodes, what if WB didn't greenlit Angel, what if Angel remained on Buffy, and people would think Angel spin off idea, dumb, because there's always a natural hesistence of how good a spin off is gonna be, , there was a chance Angel wasn't gonna come back for a 5th season.
I remember fans thinking maybe it's for the best, because they didn't like the changes WB were asking, a slash in budget, bring in a Buffy character, some people truely thought end it on season four, glad they were proven wrong, can't imagine Angel and no smile time etc, a network's decision to renew Angel for the 5th season after it was on the bubble, I was really pleased about it,imagine it ending after four seasons with Home, we'll be thinking about the season of season five and what that might of been like, well we found out, one miracle done.
Now what if WB never asked for changes to be made, and Joss went into season five, no spike etc, and knowing it was the last season, the season I say would of been totally different and maybe felt more closure through it, but as it stands season five leaves you hungaring for more, and sometimes that's a good thing, some shows run out of steam way before their season five, thats why Angel's 112 episodes seem shorter, but if you think about it, Buffy lasted a season and a half more then Angel, buffy's first season was 12 episodes, Angel had 21, in a way, it's had 6 seasons of what Buffy had, and I say had a kick ass last season compared to Buffy's 7th season, which was good, but it's had better, so things could of been much different, but turned out alright, 5 seasons is still a big amount, just Angel was done too well, couldn't imagine it ending, as Joss says, if the fight never ends, I wouldn't of felt closure at the end of season six either, Joss and his people just made these shows so well, I don't believe it was gonna be easy to see it end, because there are creative elements you always imagine, even after the end. I hope there's a Angel film sometime.
