Sunnydale High P.E. Shirt on Ebay. It says that this shirt was used in the last episode, but I don't remember anyone wearing this shirt. The current price is $255.00, with 6 days to go.

This is another one of those things that I won't be able to afford.

I don't think this shirt made an appearance in "Chosen" (not "THE Chosen" as it says in the description!), but then again I read or heard somewhere that Joss originally had the episode longer, but then stuff was edited out. The specific parts I believe where flash-backs from Buffy walking down the hallway of the high school. If this so, it makes sense that an old-school Sunnydake High PE shirt would make an appearance. Boo UPN for only giving Joss 1 hour to complete the greatest show to ever air on that (or any other) station!
Hopefully they release the full final episode on the dvds :)
I don't think they do deleted scenes for Buffy dvds, and though I do have season 7, I haven't watched Chosen yet, but I'm pretty sure we'd have heard if they had a new version.
It has been mentioned in the past that Joss Whedon's script for 'Chosen' was, at various stages, quite a bit longer than the 43 minutes (or so) allowed for the episode. The scene when Buffy, Xander and Willow walk down the high school corridor was originally intended to incorporate flashbacks, or some kind of reference back to earlier times. I'm not sure that this actually ever reached the filming stage. I think it was cut out of the script prior to that. In fact, that is probably the case for most of the material taken out of the script.

Undoubtedly, there will be some deleted footage, and not just for this episode, but sadly I suspect we will never get to see it, at least not 'officially'. The DVD contains the version of 'Chosen' we already all know. As great as it is, a two-hour version would have been a more fitting end to this extraordinary show. Oh well.
I could easily make one of these shirts...as a matter of fact...I think that I will!
Actually, dashboardprophet, if I understood the commentary to Chosen correctly, the flashbacks were in a long, slo-mo shot of Buffy walking through the basement, and they did shoot it but had to cut it. Maybe someday we'll get to see deleted scenes. There are some (well, two) on the Firefly DVDs.

Thanks, dreamlogic, that's really good to hear. I really should listen to these audio commentaries more closely! It would be fantastic to get to see these deleted scenes. I've only ever seen one, from 'Dead Things'.

I'm not sure how they would do it, unless they released some special-edition DVDs of key episodes, with the deleted scenes included as extras. I've no idea how well BtVS DVDs sell. Would this ever be a viable possibility?
I think a special edition dvd with outtakes and deleted scenes would sell particularly well, especially if it was loaded with several hours or more of these tidbits. Joss could always throw in the "unaired" pilot that a lot of us have already seen anyway. It would be cool to see it in good quality video and hear his commentary on it and explain why he did things differently. I could definitely see it being a top seller even if they repeated outtakes and specials (like the Behind the musical one) in addition to new footage. I'd be thrilled if it ever happened and if we were able to see all the deleted scenes that they still have.

Now if new dvd sets came out that included all the deleted scenes added back into the episodes they were intended to be in I think that would be a huge success, especially if it was on the next big format to come out. If people thought there would be something new in the sets that they haven't seen already, it would make it worth buying all over again. It would have to be big though, with deleted scenes, outtakes (and a significant amount of both and not just the few minutes of outtakes we've seen already), commentary by all the cast - come on Fox, you can afford to offer decent money to get the entire cast to comply. Behind the scenes with the makeup department and getting to see, say, DB and JM being put in vamp make-up, Clem, the Master being made up (don't know if they'd still have anything like that but it could be fun). Maybe even the actors trying out for other roles. I know several of the BtVS regulars tried out for other parts. It would be cool to see Julie Benz trying out for Buffy, Nathan Fillion as Angel, SMG as Cordy etc.
Ummm... did anyone notice that this person says they got this shirt from FOX? Does that make sense? Buffy was on UPN at the end.
I think the reason there are no deleted scenes on the DVDs for Buffy (or Angel, or most any other TV show) is simply that there are no deleted scenes. An episode is filmed in a week or two and when production starts on a new one everyone knows exactly what it is they need for the episode. They go, they shoot those scenes, they stick them together, and it airs. That's pretty much it. It's not like in films where there's a lot of tweaking and assessing and thinking that happened throughout the process and afterwards, where scenes might be cut out post-humously to improve flow or for time.

Making TV shows just isn't an iterative process.
Fox was responsible for the production of Buffy....UPN was the distributer...
Gonnas, the commentaries for several episodes mention deleted scenes. For instance, on the one for Conversations With Dead People, they said there were several (don't remember the exact number) minutes deleted.
The first season dvds for Farscape had added in the deleted scenes. The rest of the seasons had the deleted scenes as extras that you could watch. Also, I've seen the deleted scenes for Smashed and Dead Things so I know they do indeed exist.
And there was the deleted scene from Lies My Parents Told Me where Giles tells Buffy that he killed Ben.
It's a shame the dvds do not contain these scenes for us fans to watch. Since these scenes are mentioned often in the commentary it would be nice to view them (assuming the scenes were shot).

The only episode I can think of where they include one is Waiting in the Wings, where Fred and Wes dance.

Firefly Flanatic - Where did you see the scenes for Smashed and Dead Things?
“I think a special edition dvd with outtakes and deleted scenes would sell particularly well, especially if it was loaded with several hours or more of these tidbits.”

I always feel a little cheated when the DVDs say “outtakes” and they you only get about two minutes of line flubbing and giggling. Didn’t they always to a gag reel at the end of filming each season? I know it was probably just for the enjoyment of the people who worked on the shows, but I would love to see them. I think fans would pay to see them (hint, hint).
I have mixed feelings about deleted scenes being included or added back into the episodes they were cut from. It they were cut for time, probably yes. But if they were cut because they didn’t quite work, well, you don’t always want to show someone your rough draft.
The scene I would love to see most (Buffy using her wish to bring Tara back for Willow)
only exists in Joss’s head anyway, so I’ll just have to use my imagination.
Wow, Simon, I always wondered why that was never brought up again! I wonder why it didn't make it into the final cut? I guess it's a bigger issue to deal with than they had time for, and the fact that that happened so long before Lies My Parents Told Me. I'm gonna go listen to the commentary for potential answers.
Passion, here's the site where I last saw them. Unfortunately (unless you like these types of things) these are put to music as a music video. I know I saw the Smashed scene before without the music but I don't remember where. Maybe it was Buffy.nu. Anyway, here they are from Buffy online:

Music Vid: Censored BUFFY Scenes
Simon, is that scene with Buffy and Giles floating around somewhere on the net or was that mentioned in one of the commentaries? I haven't yet scene all of the season 7 dvds yet and haven't listened to the commentaries yet either.

And Bloodflowers, I agree with you about not just putting in deleted scenes because they are there. I'd only want the ones that should've been included but were cut for time. But it would also be nice to have the other deleted scenes as an extra.
Simon and Firefly Flanatic, I just listened to the commentary for Lies My Parents Told Me again. Not only did they shoot and cut Giles' confession about Ben (for pretty much the reasons buffbuff mentioned), but they also shot a whole scene between Spike and Wood that was cut for time because the episode ran 12 (!) minutes long. It was them sizing each other up over a whiskey bottle, and sounds sort of like a call-back to the Spike/Riley scene with the bottle in Into the Woods (great scene) only it would probably be even more intense because Wood's grudge against Spike was much deeper than Riley's. James Marster's comment to David Fury in the commentary was "you wrote a movie and had to shoot a T.V. show." I think they did that a lot, and would love to see more of the movies.
On gag reels: Angel Season Five will have an almost 9 minute gag reel. (I got this off tvshowsondvd.com). It does seem like the BtVS sets could have been more generous with Buffy gag reels. Should there be some future release of this kind of stuff - plus any deleted scenes - I'm there with bells on. My dream is that Fox will someday release a Super Duper Criterion Edition-like BtVS/AtS with hours upon hours of new commentaries, featurettes, interviews, outtakes, deleted scenes.

It's not a crime to dream, right?

Although I do see the point about not providing deleted scenes willy nilly. If a scene wasn't used there was a reason. My ideal would be to be able to see this footage available with commentary, like the Waiting in the Wings/Cordy! footage.
Firefly Flanatic- seems it's not there anymore when I click on the link to play the video I get the error below:

Thanks for trying anyway and posting the link.
Passion, you can find the 'Dead Things' outtake at Buffy.nu, somewhere in their archives. It's a sequence that was cut from the opening scene of the episode.

I know it's a somewhat disreptable site, but I guess it's okay to mention it if there are no links.
Sorry Passion, try dbp suggestion of Buffy.nu. I think if you do a search for videos you may be able to find it. If they have it, it should be without the added music which I personally found annoying and distracting.
