Speaking of comics. I have been in contact with Chris Ryall,
IDW Publishing Editor-in-Chief and Beau Smith, VP of marketing at the same publisher and we will know more about the angel comic very soon.

I liked Food Chain but then I tend to like Christopher Golden's writing anyway. I still read and re-read the Lost Slayer.

catalyst2, I'd say it's an old interview, for example:

End of days?
How is the end of the show going to affect the Buffy comics? Will they continue?

Which tends to imply the interview was sometime during season 7 of Buffy.

Get Fray, Angel TheVampire. You'll enjoy it. I'd place it above Tales of the Vampires (which I finally bought last week), which in turn I'd rate more highly than Tales of the Slayers. TOTS is just a little too uneven in quality, IMO.

I liked Fray a lot as well, although the surrounding Joss written story of Tales of the Vampires was excellent!
One of the problems I often have with the comics is how little they look or sound like the characters we know. This Food Chain comic was quite good on both counts.

And I can't believe they are going to shut this part of the BBC site down soon. I mean, in addition to Buffy and Angel sections of course, they've got Captain Scarlet galleries ! I did notice though that there are still more Buffy e-comics coming so it can't be shutting down too soon.

Throughout the comic I was wondering half the time if that really was Xander. 'Hey, who's that skinny, cocky, overly muscled soap actor with the light brown hair and the uber-chiseled jaw?? Oh rright. Xander....who else could it be...'

Really, this semi-image art almost makes me long for Cliff Richards' work.

Well, that's the downside of short stories done by completely different creative teams. I had the same 'some yay, some nay' feeling with TotV. Some really good Buffy writers in there but not all of them 'get' the comic medium as well as Joss does.

But what's this 'Angel the Vampire' thing you mean? Just the ongoing Angel comic from DH? Wasn't that as shaky as the ongoing Buffy one? Or is this some limited series I don't know about?

.............uh.....yeah. 'Course. I mean.....obviously. Just joshin'. Heheh.....dutch humor. *cough*

The uninked pencils, yes, that art was good, but has done nothing to make his other art grow on me because it barely even resembled his other art. His 'Rogue' stint for Marvel was better than many Buffy comics too, but I generally just don't like his pacing, or his rendering, especially of faces.

Some of his Buffy comics look to me like he did had to rush it, couldn't pay too much time on it, leaving a lot of elements looking half finished. That, or he had some lazy inkers.
