Herc Looooooves Tim Minear's THE INSIDE!! AICN's television columnist is very excited about the new series. And Tim reveals, amongst other things, that there will be a very specific 'Angel' reference in the show.

Herc is keen on this. Anybody who writes "the overburdened concept of ‘Tru Calling,’" can't be all bad in my book! And obviously I am slow because I never realised Jane Espenson was writing on this. Sounds more promising by the moment!

ETA: it would have been wonderful to see the Hyperion again!

Ok my eyes are playing all sorts of tricks, when I first read the link line my eyes kinda left out the 'THE', lets just say not a visual I ever want again. Blech! After watching Medium this week, I've been scarred enough.

“It's ‘Silence Of The Lambs’ by way of ‘L.A. Confidential.’", oh my how intriguing that sounds, lets just hope they don't pull the same trick on Minear 3 times, by not sticking with it for the full order, although this is FOX they could be cruel enough to us to put it up against 'Lost'.
I have to disagree with Herc about Jan Espenson. She is, in my opinion, the third best non-Joss Buffy writer. Second and third being Marti Noxon and Drew Goddard (in no particular order).

I am looking forward to this, though (and do agree about Tim Minear being the best non-Joss/non-Buffy writer) and want to know what new Angel reference will be!
I'm getting more and more excited by this. I was a big fan of Miracles (for it's tiny run) and so I'm very happy to read that Richard Hatem is also on board. I too would've loved to have seen the Hyperion but I'm happy to settle for whatever Tim thinks is 1000 times better than an Angel reference :)
We've got no official ME show to look forward in foreseeble future... but at least we have a few treat to look forward.

There's Marti's Point Pleasant and now we've got the inside... at least 2005 it's starting to look good. It would only be better if we'd had a ME show, but the world ain't perfect, is it?
2005 was already looking okay for me as far as ME-influenced content is concerned. Lost is already on the air, with David Fury and soon Drew Goddard involvement. There're probably one or two other shows that I watch that feature ME writers, but I don't always pay attention to the credits so I might not know.

Oh yeah, Steven DeKnight's on Smallville...erm, I don't think even DeKnight can save or even moderately fix Smallville in its fourth season, it is what it is (that'd be my favorite and only guilty pleasure TV drama), but I did enjoy his two episodes a lot.
I'm looking forward to this, and to giving Point Pleasant a shot. I agree that 2005 is shaping up to be better than I expected entertainment-wise, and mostly because of the people formerly associated with ME. Now, if only more of the Jossverse actors could find regular employment . . .
Tim Minear and Jane Espenson!! Very cool indeed. I did not realize that both THE INSIDE and POINT PLEASANT were on Fox!!!
Kind of interesting that Fox are snapping up Mutant Enemy alumnus...
Maybe the thing that is a thousand times better is a cst member from Angel/Buffy joining the show.
Time for Minearesque.com ?
Now there's an idea.
Sounds like a little slice of heaven- Tim, Jane, Adam & Peter Coyote. Whahoo! How fascinating that nearly a year after Angel was axed, the hot new shows (and the hot new shows in waiting) are NOT the reality garbage The WB was so interested in expanding, but intelligent, complex, scripted dramas. Nothing makes up for the cancellation of Angel, but I do get some satisfaction to think somewhere, certain people are kicking themselves for their lack of foresight.
Hmmm - someone from the cast of Angel joining The Inside cast - Amy? Andy ? J August? Alexis? What an exciting thought ShotgunWes!
If there was a Minearesque.com, the right wingers who felt put off during the U.S. election would have a place to post.;-)
I think TM is great but he's not JW. Still, if he is involved with a show, I'll give it a shot.
Lioness - you beat me to it! I am glad that Republicans in the whedonverse have a friend in Tim. That way the left and right can all stay in the family! That sounds so cult-like but I want us all to stay friends (she says from the far left)
I definitely am going to give this show a try.
So glad that other dude left. So unmemorable I even forget who he was. Coz now... ADAM! Woo! Just make sure you leave some time for more Serenity sequels buddy!
Didn't Alexis take part in one of the read-throughs, or was that just because they hadn't cast one of the characters yet?
He read for Web as a favor, because they were still casting the character.
Ah, shame they didn't just cast him, haven't seen much of the Angel cast lately.
I'm so excited about this show. It sounds very intriguing and I know we can expect the best from Tim and Jane.

I hope Tim can get some of the Angel, Firefly and Buffy cast to do guest appearances.
Maybe Alexis is the 1000 times better Angel reference, Herc was referring too. Well anyway one can always hope. Maybe he'll play a rouge FBI agent who has gone nuts and thinks he's hunting demons now or something. :)
I so hope Alexis makes at least one guest spot. His arc on BtVS and Angel was one of the greatest and really showed off his acting chops. The man should be working dammit!

Though if I was married to Alyson I wouldn't leave the house much at all....
I would just love it to be Alexis. He should never be without work. He just blew me away, time and time again.
Time for Minearesque.com ?

Maybe his ownes category?

I know. I'm biased.
Silence of the Lambs... great.
I´m interested more and more for The Inside.

I like the "new" plot, with no undercover.

What if the 1000x better thing is Joss scripting an episode? Oooo, dare to dream!!
or the 1000th times better is David Boreanaz being a recurring guest star??
Man it does sound freakin awesome tho!
