I knew about the new hair. If I remember, she cut it short a while back for her role in Home & Hardware, which wasn't picked up. I guess she just kept the hairstyle.

She looks cute! I'm seven episodes behind on VM, so I'm not sure if I'm going to watch this episode when it airs. I want to be able to understand all the story-arc stuff. I know there have been revelations that I'm not privy to, so I think I'll wait on this.

I sure am looking forward to getting to see Aly when I do finally catch up though.

This is the second time recently that I have come across a reference here at WHEDONesque to to AH being 'old'. My God! I'm old enough to be her father, and I'm beginning to get a complex about my age. With all my great years of wisdom (or not) she simply looks to me to be a very attractive young woman.

I like her better with long hair and it has nothing to do with looking 'old' I just think she looks sexier/cuter.

Yeah, I knew about the new hair and I'm not too crazy about it. But that doesn't matter because she's still the same loveable people regardless of haircut. The important thing is that she in an episode of Veronica Mars, which means she's working again, which is great! I'm looking forward to that episode so very very much. :)

Her hair was pretty much this length back in October at the High Stakes gig, if memory serves. I prefer it longer, but god, she just looks adorable in any hairstyle! I hate her...

ESG - I'm also trying to catch up and have only seen a couple of episodes. I believe the next couple may be reruns as well so I think that will be enough to at least have a pretty good idea of what's going on. If I need to, I may just find an episode guide for the show that will fill me in. Does anyone have a good suggestion as to where to find a good site for that?

As for Aly's hair, it's cute. I also think she looks prettier with it longer but maybe it looks a little different in live action. She's still adorable whether it's long or short. I can't wait to see her in this role!

These photos are blowing my mind here. Aly looks fantastic. Kristen Bell looks hotter as Madonna than Madonna does. Jason Dohring's Logan doing his tribute to Tom Cruise? Aly's Trina Echolls dragging her dumbass brother through the halls of Neptune High? Unbelievable.

As I've said before: if you're not watching Veronica Mars...start watching!

I love Alyson Hannigan. Love, love, love her. Having seen her in interviews, there definitely is a bit of her own personality in Willow. Or, to put it bluntly, Aly is a little bit Willowy. She's so sweet, and seems like good people.

Having said that, I've always loved the long hair. I like season 3 Willow hair on her, but I've always loved it long even more, because, well, I just like long hair, period.

Off-topic: does anything think Alexis Denisof would look yummy with long(ish) hair or is that just me? ;)

Veronica Mars is one of the best shows on the air right now. It's got it's own unique style and charm. And I second the TWoP recaps. Couch Baron loves this show and it shows. And when TWoP can be nice to a show (along with snarky, of course), that's saying a lot.

Does anyone know the ratings on VM? And how do they compare to, oh, lets say Smallville on The WB? Just curious.

I'm happy for her that she has the work, but I dunno if I'm ready to see her as "other than" Willow. My problem, I know. Still, not sure if I'll watch.

VM's ratings are (and I'll be generous here) poor. The show is on in one of American TV's toughest time slots (Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. EST), against two series of almost equal quality ("Scrubs" and "House"), a reality show that (amazingly) doesn't insult the audience's intelligence (The Amazing Race), dumb ABC sitcoms, and a piece of teen soap nonsense that should just die now ("One Tree Hill").

VM generally pulls in around three million viewers. UPN has pledged to let the creative staff finish Season 1 and the Lilly Kane mystery, but is visibly hesitant about committing to Season Two. (Hate to say it, but I can't blame them. They're running a business, after all.) I'm thinking VM needs at least a half million more pairs of eyes on the screen if the show is going to continue.

Aly looks great any way you see her. What a honey. If only I were 20 years younger, skinny and tall and named Alexis. LOL.

Anyway, word is that they are now working out the total number of episodes ALy will be on, indicating that she will be at the least a recurring charactere this year. Good news!

I hope adding AH to the cast helps with the eyeball issue. I've been watching from the beginning, but I hate to say that several times now, I've had to refute the by-now tired misperception of VM that's become commonplace in media coverage about it: "It's that Buffy ripoff show, right?" Ugh. "Well, um, no, actually..." I know it looks like they're trying to play up the BtVS angle, but really, apart from having AH on it and the high school setting there's still not that much overt similarity.

AH looks her usual, pretty, pulled-together self in these pics (and the coat is very 'gimme' :), but I have to say KB is an extra-smokin' little chica in that Madonna getup. That one where she's walking down the school hallway is workin' it.

It is a little odd to see AH looking her age, so to speak, but seeing as she plays the older sister and the whole VM bunch look a mite older than the high school students they're supposed to be, I guess she had to look older than she usually does on screen.
Also, the change in Willow's physical appearance - hair, clothes, make-up - was character driven so it wasn't really noticeable at the time that AH was 'all grown up' whereas Xander and Buffy changed only b/c of the changes in NB and SMG's appearance over the 7 years of the show. Not sure where I'm going with this thought, but just wanted to share. (I'm also not going near the question of DB's evolving physique.)
