Yea i seen that in my TV Guide this week. OMWF great episode and great kiss at the end. Glad its up there. I also noticed Sci-fi shows gotta a few different hot kiss couples in the top 20.

Well, since many of us commented on this back in December when the poll was announced, I'm going to be consistent (for a change) and regurgitate what I said back then:

"I voted for Buffy and Spike only b/c it seemed like the clear fav, not b/c it's my favorite kiss of the show (or even of the two Buffyverse contenders . . . ) If pressed, I too would probably pick the "Intervention" kiss. Kisses don't need to be hot and bothered to be wonderful and memorable. Another example: the famous kiss between Tara and Willow in "The Body." Not a great kiss, per se, but a damn fine moment of truth and wonderfulness."

Yeah, I still like the Intervention kiss as the "most memorable," but, no, definitely not the hottest.

And the TV Guide online version doesn't tell us, but it's the Buffy/Spike kiss from OMWF that got 7th? Great moment, but, really, I've never liked the kiss as a kiss. Too stagey. The smooching in Tabula Rasa is better . . .

I don't know if I recall a particular smooch "shot" during this time but my favorite is how Dru and Spike tended to look at each other in the first few eps they were introduced.

This one's a tough call for me. I love the kiss at the end of OMWF, but not necessarily because of the kiss itself - more because of the fact that they finally were kissing. So I suppose that build up and the "yes" I shouted at the television does rank that as memorable. I would pick the quality of the Tabula Rasa kiss over the OMWF kiss. And Smashed was hot as hell but kissing was, er, only part of what was going on there so I hesitate to single out the kissing in and of itself as memorable.

Now, Wesley and Cordelia certainly were memorable, I'll give them that.

Was it during the Halloween episode that Giles and Jenny kissed and she made the "I love to make you squirm" comment? It might have been my being thrilled that Giles had a love interest that causes that to be memorable. (I once again bow to the amazing ability everyone else has to pull up any episode title and situation at the drop of a hat.)

The Intervention kiss...is everyone talking about Buffy's kiss of the thrashed Spike at the end, when she's pretending to be the Buffybot to find out if Spike spilled the beans about Dawn being the Key? Not the actual Buffybot getting all hot and bothered about Spike?

'Cos I think the kiss at the end is one of the more moving moments in all of Buffy.

Well, then I'm scrambling eps up in my head - I do that frequently. Maybe if I pulled out individual episodes to watch depending on my mood, I'd be better at this. But I just start at WTTH and watch them all in order, so the names of the episodes end up being of less relevance (for me anyway).

That scene in Intervention is fantastic. More than the kiss, which gives me tingles every time, I love the look on Spike's face...JM did a fantastic job with that scene.

I could never have a real 'yay' moment any time Spike and Buffy kissed because it was all so bittersweet. It was never, "Oh, they're finally together," because they never really were. All very sad.... :(

The Intervention kiss is one of my favorite moments in the entire series. But, for hot kisses, gotta be Tabula Rasa, or the kissing in Smashed before the falling through the floor bit. I like the kiss in OMWF, too, but Buffy's line sung just before that it isn't real and the singing of "where do we go from here" over the kiss undercut the emotional power.

While it was obvious that the Buffy/Spike relationship was not going to be healthy, or happy, I still got my "yes" shout out there at the end of OMWF. Not so much a "yay", but a "yes, let's get this going now". So, I soaked up that first kiss for what it was, the first kiss in what was going to be a tragic journey. The lyrics that palehorse mentioned as Buffy walked up to Spike had the opposite effect on me. The loneliness and desperation leading into that kiss packed a huge emotional punch for me, albeit not a joyful one. The "where do we go from here" got me on the "I love this show - what are they going to do next" level as well.

I agree, the "Tabula Rasa" kiss was hotter and more... intense than the OMWF kiss, but the latter kiss had the build-up of the entire show-stopping number behind it. I don't know, I guess I'd go with the OMWF kiss as well because it was the first kiss, and musical kisses always count more. (insane troll logic)

Buffy and Spike had quite a few great kisses over the years. Their first make-out in 'Something Blue' was a great kiss and funny to boot. The shirtless-Spike-fantasy-dream kiss at the end of 'Out Of My Mind'(?) was pretty incredible. The chaste 'Intervention' gratitude kiss was a heart-string pulling moment and made me love Buffy A LOT. The 'Tabula Rasa' kiss made me want to BE Buffy, because, frankly, hot DAMN did that look like a GOOD kiss. (That footage should be studied in make-out school.)

The 'Once More With Feeling' kiss was good and all, but.. I dunno.. you kinda knew it was coming. It didn't have any of the surprise of the other kisses, imo. Not that it wasn't pretty... but ~~I've had~~ I've seen better.

I never think that the kisses between SPike and Buffy are hot. They're always bitter because Buffy was using Spike for something e for me that isn't hot, but I agreed with the kiss of W/C

The OMWF kiss looks too fake. Buffy is moving her head around too much. Strange and off-putting.

But the Tabula Rasa kiss makes me freeze in my tracks and always makes my breath catch. Every time. As short as it is, it really captures that feeling of being swept away by passion.

I'm ashamed of myself. I have seen "Tabula Rasa" at least 5 times and I could not figure out what kiss you were referring to. I actually had to look up the transcript. Duh, that kiss WAS fantastic.
I would have to go with "Intervention" as my most memorable.

For pure emotion, I am going to have to go with Becoming Part II. There is just so much packed into that kiss, and to know what was coming. I still cry. Every. Time.

Also, I have always liked the kiss that Willow gives Oz at the end of Phases. It is just so not Willow, and yet...

And have to concur with whoever mentioned I Will Remember You. When Angel finds Buffy on the pier... oh yeah.

Intervention kiss is a favorite of mine - and I love that episode so much! But also agree that the Tabula Rasa kiss is the hot, hot, hottest!

OMWF is a great ending and great episode however I always thought their kiss looked kinda awkward, like trying too hard and not feeling as much.

I agree. The kiss looked staged. I hate fakey kissing on TV or in movies. I always thought SMG was too fakey with the kissing. WIllow and Tara, on the other hand...very real and believable. I guess actors learn how to "pretend kiss" so they don't use their tongues or something. I always want them to use their tongues a little for the passionate kisses. It's just more believable. Yes, I think about this stuff. I have too many thoughts.

Spike and the Buffy bot kisses were incredibly beautiful to watch, but I'm guessing that they wanted it to look different then "real Buffy" so it was screen kisses like old movies.

SMG and Marsters have on screen chemistry to the maximum. This is not the first time they've been recognized for this, and I'm sure it wont' be the last.

Gotta say, as much as I truly LOVE the Spike and Buffy storyline.
I mean seriously, Angel should be with Cordy and Buffy should be with Spike!
Anyways, my fav kiss is the I Will Remeber You kiss, that was a doozy. Angel out in the sun liek that!
Also, that whole scene with Angel and Cordelia in Waiting in the Wings, PHWOAR!!!
As Joss said in the commentary "I don't quite know what they are doing out of shot there?"

Well, pretty much all the great kisses have already been mentioned here. Like many posters here, I'm a big fan of the one at the end of Intervention, Tara's and Willow's in The Body, and B/A at the end of Becoming 2 (and, for pure hotness, both Tabula Rasa and Smashed).
I like the kisses that mean something, where the kiss is as much about all the emotion going on as the kiss itself.

And, for great conversations about kissing, how about Oz and Willow talking in the van during Innocence? "Freeze frame... Willow kissage"
That was the scene that made me fall in love with Oz.

The intervention scene was a bit exaggerated for my taste. But, my biggest problem with the scene is that Spike definitely knows she's the real Buffy who he's talking too. He can smell her sent two blocks away. (See for example Touched, right after the kitchen scene).

Notice that it was Xander who 'saw' Spike being more hurt that he should have been, indicating that Spike might have been honest.

I loved the Willow/Tara kiss as well. Very funny.
