Chance to vote for Spike and Buffy at TV GUIDE.
This looks like the Valentine issue couples, with a chance to vote for the hottest kiss.

And yeah, I wish they would have put Willow/Tara up there. That was by far my favorite couple, followed closely by Buffy/Spike.

According to the date next to the Buffy/Spike nomination, they are talking about the OMWF kiss, but I think the kiss in Smashed was much better.
But since this is apparently a contest between BtVS and all the other shows, I'll vote for the show, and not the kiss. I feel like playing dirty. Buffy deserves the recognition!
On a side note, I totally agree that Buffy and Faith would have been a hot couple. I wanted to see that! Faith was totally into Spike in season 7. And everyone knows Spike has a thing for slayers. Sigh. Oh, what could have been...

The Cordy/Xander first kiss in season two was much hotter, with them shouting at each other and then just going for it. Will & Tara were always hot, whether they were kissing or not. They'd just have to look at one another and you'd see sparks. Then there's season six when Spike put Anya down on the table - Ooh! Didn't Giles and Anya kiss that season too? And in season three when Cordy and Wesley kissed, and Wes kissed too wet for Cordy's tastes? Then there's when Buffy and Angelus were temporarily possessed by ghosts - that was pretty hot. And of course when Buffy lost her virginity to Angel. That was pretty hot too.
But the most heat ever in the entire series has to be when there was that frat party in season four, and Riley and Buffy just couldn't stop having sex because of all those creepy kid ghosts haunting the place. That was hot. Everybody else keeps wanting Buffy and Angel to end up together or Buffy and Spike. If Riley hadn't lacked the confidence to handle a woman of Buffy's capability, he would have been an ideal anchor. You know, the kinda guy a gal could come home to after she'd saved the world a few times before dinner.
I almost voted for Uhura and Kirk though. The first inter-racial kiss ever to be broadcast on American television. That wasn't only hot - that was an historic kiss! But that franchise is dead. We're trying to revive this one.

BTW, this was not the Spuffy first kiss. Their first kiss actually was quite the tearjerker, in INTERVENTION when Spike was beat up by Glory.

I was surprised there was no Buffy and Angel but I'm glad there was only one Buffy choice because I hate to see the votes split amongst the two ships.
Now, I wasn't a huge Buffy and Riley fan (I've grown to enjoy Riley's character since then) but that was a great kiss in Hush when they see each other! Very romantic. And I loved where Buffy and Spike were heading when season 7 ended but none of the kisses were really that romantic to me between them. I would've been wonderful to have finally got a truly loving and romantic kiss from them in Chosen just before Spike "died".

God, I was waiting for a kiss all of season 7!! Cruel, cruel Joss...

I hope this gets published in the magazine.
Nice for the networks to see that.
Or ummm, Wolfram & Hart as we call them around here.

No, I've never noticed that, and I certainly don't agree with the analogy. Probably wise to refrain from saying any more on that subject . . .

I love season 4 and always liked Riley (until As You Were)and I found the B/R relationship sweet and romantic. But not hot, sexy or erotic.
Reddygirl | February 09, 04:23 CET
Oh, I wasn't directing that comment at you, just a general clarification statement since the description of this link says you can vote for your favorite couple.
And I agree with you that there weren't really any romantic Spuffy kisses. Hot and passionate, to be sure, but I couldn't really call them romantic.

Isn't this top 20 the result of a previous poll that did have Buffy and Angel ... or am I confusing it with a different poll? I know TV Guide has had polls in the past with both B/S and B/A represented. I'm assuming the B/S kiss was chosen for a reason. Anyway, as a Spike fan, I'm happy to see a pairing that includes him on the poll.
killinj | February 09, 05:29 CET
It makes me sad to see the Whedonverse reduced to poll for best kiss in TV guide.
Wait! Comics! Comics are a-coming!

I have to say my favorite Buffyverse kiss is from I Will Remember You. I believe they had 3 kisses: the one on the pier, the one in the kitchen, and the one saying good bye as the clock ticked down. The one in the kitchen was my favorite, it was totally hot. My second favorite Buffyverse kiss was Smashed. Probably more hot, but the love just wasn't there. I'm a romantic, what can I say. But I'm NOT a conservative! SpikeBad, that was bad, bad, bad! But I accept your apology.
Harmalicious | February 09, 08:00 CET
I think there were better Buffy/Spike kisses than this one, but I voted for it anyway; Tara/Willow would have gotten my vote if they'd been represented. And although I'm not a B/A'er per se, I'd still put their kisses in IOHEFY, B:2 or IWRY at the top of any Whedonverse list (and yes, Harmalicious, the kitchen kiss -- lucky table!).
Kirk/Uhura appeals to my old school Trekkie-ness, but the fact they were forced together by psychic coercion, sparkage notwithstanding, sort of quenches the hotness factor for me.
I'd sure like to see what Mal and Inara could do, one of these days. ;)
Wiseblood | February 09, 10:00 CET
Wiseblood, you said it--Mal/Inara...I smell movie action.
Oh, and on a total side note, I've been getting good buzz from my friends recently about Farscape. But what to my utter surprise when on Amazon I see that a dvd box set cost $120! Isn't that a little pricey? Of course, I only have Buffy season dvds to compare it to and I've always complained about having to shell out $45 each for those. Yeah, I'm stingy.

The voting was a de jure validation of what all (well, most) of us her knew in our hearts as a de facto reality!
But I am distressed...45% right now...only a 30 percentatge point lead!
Chris inVirginia | February 10, 04:06 CET
Buffy and Spike still leaving the competion in the dust with a 29% lead.
Madhatter | February 10, 10:35 CET
ETA: back again - 44% Buffy/Spike to 16% Sydney/Vaughn.
