Nathan Fillion 'stock' now trading on Hollywood Stock Exchange. Started trading Thursday, March 3 at US$20. Up a $1.25 so far.

If you're not a member of the exchange, it's easy. Sign up, you get 2 million Hollywood dollars to spend (free). Buy Serenity, Buy Nathan Fillion. Buy Alan Tudyk. None of the other FF cast are on the board yet, but that comes with movie roles. Go here to homepage

Looks like I need to dig up my login for HSE. The chance to virtually buy Nathan Fillion is too good to resist. I bought Tudyk a while back; wonder how he's doing?
NFILL is up $2 now, yet Serenity is a bit down for the week. The few times I've watched movie stocks on HSX before, it seemed that the numbers don't really mean much until near the release date. Then they can be more accurate than "industry" predictions, though.
Yeah, maybe I'll dig up my account too...I have a way of logging on every six-or-so months. I do remember buying Serenity when it cost, like, nothing. Wonder what it's up to now...
Ok I'm feeling very out of the loopy, I have never heard of or seen anything like this!

So it's like virtual shares in people?! So is that they're soul and/or physical body?
It's like a stock market for Hollywood ... you buy shares in movies, in actors, that sort of thing.

Had to invest in Mr. Fillion there. Which makes him the only actor I've bought, outside of Aly. So he should feel very special indeed.
Yeah last time someone posted an article on this fake Hollywood stock exchange site it was taken down real fast. (think it was about the non-existent Buffy movie sequel you could buy pretend-stock in)I guess it's okay now.

It's a fun idea, but I don't think I'd play it myself though. Kinda depressing to see myself become imaginary rich while it not not being worth a real dime. "Yay! My stock is worth ten times as much.....and it's not real! Yay....uh..."
That Buffy movie sequel at HSX has been there since 1998 so it wasn't new. That's why the link was taken down.
Since 1998?? You're kidding!
I bought Serenity several months ago but then it fell and I had to sell. Shoulda held on to it, I know. At the time I was buying stuff based on my heart and was failing miserably. I changed tactics and am making H$X instead of losing it, but now Serenity's trading at twice what I'd originally bought it for. I shoulda held on to that one. The one thing that I did cling to from that time was the Kevin Smith Clerks sequel, and I'm still losing my shirt over that one, but just can't bare to part with it.

As for being depressed that you're making fake money but not real money, it's a game. You don't get depressed when you win at Monopoly, do ya?
Wow. I guess this proves I have no life: I check HSX almost everyday. "Serenity" dropped way down when they pushed the opening to September, and has been rising slowly ever since. As for playing your heart, that's the only way I enjoy playing (since it IS pretend money). And I'm not one of the fake-rich-rich, but I've built up to almost 7mill (If only!) just by holding onto the ones I have hope for. (Go Nathan--I've been waiting for that one!)
I made it from 2mill to 7 over about three or four years. Been playing it off and on since they started. Last year I started playing arbs and am up to almost 13. Not great, but better progress than I was making before, and it's been a steady increase too, instead of going up and down like a yoyo.

But last week I had bought a small amount of Serenity again just to keep an eye on it. If it ever drops below 40, I'll max out again. I'm sure it's going to at least break even, provided it doesn't go straight to DVD, which is still a worry I have. =(

Oh, and I maxed out on Fillion this morning. Still play the heart a little bit. =)
