Nathan Fillion provides voice for new X-Box game 'Jade Empire'. Thus following in the footsteps of fellow Whedonverse stars David Boreanaz and Julie Benz who provided their voices for 'Kingdom Hearts' and 'Halo 2' respectively.

Because Jade Empire is made by Bioware who did the wonderful Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, it's got a bit of hype about it. And is already being described as "game of the year" in some quarters. I wouldn't be surprised if Jade Empire made the same amount of money in its first two weeks of release as Serenity will in its first two weeks at the US box office. (Cheers to Shannon for the heads up).

Don't forget Keith Szarabajka (Holtz) who has voiced a LOT of videogame characters.

Is's only available on X-Box.

Simon Templeman (Pavayne), Robin Sachs & Robin Atkin Downes (Machida) all do voices in Knights of the Old Republic. Templeman's voice is especially distinctive.
Just to state the obvious, the entire buffy cast(sans one birthday girl) provided voicework for the two Buffy Video games.
A topic i officially have no opinion on, considering i have never owned a games console of any kind and have no desire to change that now.

I occasionally play Tetris online, does that count? ;)
I've played a demo of this game. Good quality. Now if only we could convince the powers that be to produce an Angel videogame. That would be sweet!
What voice in Halo 2? I am playing it now and I never knew that.
JB does Miranda Keys in Halo 2. You'll be kicking yourself for not recognizing her voice! She does a great job and has a very large "role" in the game! I'm hoping she'll be back for the 3rd game as well. We also have the Knights of the Old Republic game so I'll have to get my daughter to play it again so I can listen (just not that into the Star Wars games even though I watched my husband and daughter play it).

And Jade Empire is one on my list of games to get so now even more to look forward too!

I thought I remembered from "Chaos Bleeds" (game2) that Willow didn't sound like Aly, so I looked it up on IMDB and no actress is directly credited for Willow at all. And no mention of Aly.

Also, I really enjoyed playing "Kingdom Hearts" and hearing David's voice. *sad* I don't have an X-box either! Is "Knights…" on PS2?
Fraid not, Knights is only available for the X-Box and the PC. However, with the X-Box 2 coming out at the end of the year expect to see the original X-Box and its related games dropping in price as a result.
Seeing that Nathan Fillion did voice work for Bioware's Jade Empire is pretty cool. Bioware is a software company working out of Nathan's hometown of Edmonton. He probably did it at home while visiting friends and family. The paper just did a big article about the Jade Empire release.
Thank you so much, i am halfway done and i never noticed it JB's voice.
*wants an Xbox now*
Thanks for the heads-up, Simon (x-box2). The price drop may coincide with my price range!

Then I can have the original Buffy game as well!

As brownishcoat mentioned, neither Sarah Michelle Gellar nor Alyson Hannigan lent their voices to Buffy- Chaos Bleeds although the rest of the cast did- Anthony Head, Nicolas Brendan, James Marsters, Amber Benson, Emma Caufield and Eliza Dushku. The substitute voices were strange, they were vaguely like the actresses but if you are at all familar with Buffy you would have noticed it wasn't SMG and AH.

I was a little disappointed with Chaos Bleeds. The first game was X-Box exclusive so I have never played it, but Chaos Bleeds was kind of dissatisfying gameplay wise, although everything else was pretty good.
Jade Empire..... thats a pretty name
Yeah I knew that aly didn't do the voice in Chaos Bleeds, yet for some strange reason it didn't come to me when i was posting that. Weird.
This is actually pretty cool. I'm a big video game fan, and Jade Empire is a highly anticipated title. Bioware are a well-known company with some huge, rabid fanboy support, and Jade Empire has been getting pretty excellent crits thus far.

I figured it was an honest mistake. I just noticed that IMDB credits Giselle Loren as both Buffy and Anya, so possibly no Emma either (can't remember for sure, and IMDB could be a typo).
Emma did not do Anya's voice in the game. Giselle did both Buffy and Anya (she sounded horrible as Anya). Giselle did the voice for Buffy in both games. I liked her better in the first game though. Thought she captured Buffy really well. I wondered if Emma was originally going to do the voice but backed out because Giselle did not seem suited at all to try and do her voice.

Gonnas, I'm also a big video game fan and Jade Empire looks like it's going to be a great RPG.
I'm the one who emailed Simon. And yeah the game is very good so far, the parts Nathan did were of course very well acted. Had no idea he was in it when I started playing, then I heard his character and I was like "Captain Reynolds?"
I only just finally finished Kingdom Hearts 2 days ago! Then this thread came on, and I couldn't log in because my silly pc had the wrong date recorded in it. Can you imagine my frustration! it was sooo good listening to David Boreanaz as Squall/Leon, one of my fav Final Fantasy characters! And am up tp fighting the First in Chaos Bleeds! As for SMG and AH and EC not doing the voice overs, well yea...that's a dissappointment, only made up by the fact I get to actually PLAY Joss in multiplayer! That is pretty kool man!
I haven't unlocked Joss yet (First defeated but not all secrets). Guess I need to get back to working on that. I haven't played Kingdom Hearts in a while (6 mos.+ and haven't finished the game - think I was stuck) and no Chaos Bleeds in over a year.

I've been playing Spyro 4-5, Jak2 and Ratchet & Clank lately.
I finished the Chaos Bleeds game a long time ago.... I thought it was great that you were forced to learn new fighting styles as you progressed through the game, because on each new level, you became a different character.
As for the voice-over issue, Ally didn't voice for Chaos Bleeds because at the time, she was working on American Wedding; however, she did voice the first Buffy game that came out exclusive to xbox.
Xbox˛ is supposed to be launched by Xmas this year, according to the latest news. I just hope it will be retro-active as far as playing the original titles from the first Xbox. Someday, I know I will want to play the Buffy titles again.
Oh Brownishcoat, it's really worth finishing! It took me ages to get into it, because of all the cutesy stuff, but it ended up being a really fantastic RPG game, the last 2 levels are pure Final Fantasy, and the end graphic was exceptional. They'll be releasing KH2 in a few months, and it looks a lot darker and edgier, which will be great!
I really would love an Xbox to play the first Buffy game!
nixygirl: guess I'll have to find a walkthrough and get unstuck!

My best friend Val (who I single-handedly converted to Buffy-ism) bought an Xbox JUST so that she could play the original Buffy game. After she finished it, she let me borrow it, but I got stuck and she needed it back, so I never got to finish. I may be able to get back to it someday…
I cannot beat Ethan. I have tried. And tried. And I know exactly what I have to do. I get *how* to beat him. I just can't. I have a love/hate relationship with video games. And the line between fun/sheer agony while playing is a thin one. When it gets so ridiculously hard that I'm cussing and shaking my fists at the screen and slamming and throwing things...not fun. My obsessive nature kicks in at that point - "That damn machine is not going to beat me! I will not let it win!: - and I just play and play while I'm thoroughly pissed off.

I cannot stand that you have to complete a level entirely before it autosaves in Chaos Bleeds. I left my PS2 running for 4 days so as to not have to start the level over.

KH though, absolutely phenomenal, awesome game. The best RPG I had played in some time. I think before KH, Drakkan was my favorite. I am anxiously awaiting KH2.
I cannot stand that you have to complete a level entirely before it autosaves…

Agreed, it is extremely annoying. I get frustrated a lot, too; SO not the gamequeen. Usually, spending a little time away from the game and coming back to it seems to work. Of course, it's always the last thing I try

And I realize that what works for me may not work for everyone.
I left my PS2 running for 4 days so as to not have to start the level over.

Oh man been there done that! And I always scream at the tv whenI play.
Also Brownishcoat there are some good walkthrus out there for KH, I would have linked them but I find the 'how to' page difficult to understand when it comes to links.
nixygirl, if you wanted to drop them in an email, that'd be really cool. The address is on my profile.
