Preview of Angel comic "The Curse" #1. A preview of the first five pages of unlettered art from Angel: The Curse #1, due in stores in June.

I like the art, the tone feels very film like.

Joss if your reading, hope Senerity is a success, and Fox should beg you to do a Angel film later, don't get carried away with Senerity sequels, they can wait, Boreanaz is on a aging clock to play Angel in a feature film. :D That vampire with a soul stuff needs to grace the feature film world, and add a new twist on vampire cinema!
I like Angel and all, but I don't think Mr. Boreanaz wants to return to Angel. I'd much rather see more Serenity (replace Star Wars!) or even something original.
I'd rather see more Serenity (which btw he already ahd a deal for) than him go running back to Buffyverse-land. Let the Buffyverse take a nap for a few years then spawn a spinoff that's fresh when he says something specific to say throught he vehicle of that particular 'verse.
I want to see my favorite vamps one more time. Besides, its already taken a nap for a few years or at least it seems like a few years. I hope he isn't going to give up on the Spike telemovie. I'm all for Firefly fans getting as many movies as they want and maybe even a return to television. Just please, let me see my poetic vampire with a soul again.
Years? Angel has only been off the air for a year next week. Buffy, 2 years next week. Firefly, 3 years by the time the movie comes out.

One year too long... I'm so curious what Joss psoke to James about a few weeks ago. You'd think they could at least give us a hint at who they are pitching the idea to, so we could send postcards or something...
It *feels* like forever. I wasn't being literal.
Here's an 8 page preview instead of 5. :P

In other words, this has already been posted before.
Yeah, I agree that I would love to see more Angel, more Spike, and DAMN was Amy Acker divine in the last season with the Fred/Illyria creamy blue goodness. You know what I mean! She was amazing and she really blew people away who didn't realize that the woman has serious chops. My stipulation would be no Buffy involvement, though. I am serious. Let the Slayer RIP for a while longer -- if the boys come out to play lets let it be about them and theirs.
The Buffyverse had twelve seasons and many in-continuity comic books. Firefly had barely over a half season and will soon have three comic books and a film. Firefly may very well get two more films as well. That's still nothing compared to a 12-season franchise. Now I'm one of those that would prefer any Whedon property to be handled predominately by its creator. So once Joss is done with Wonder Woman and another possible non-'Verse-related project after that, I'd very much like to see a couple more Serenity flicks while I'm still young. His heart's obviously in that project the most. A Buffy and/or Angel film can certainly wait its turn, much as I'd love to see that proper Angel conclusion in any form (hell, put it out in Joss-written comic book form at this point, if a mini-series or telefilm has no chance in hell of happening).
Yeah this has been posted before, so please check the archives. But seeing as there's a discussion going on, this thread won't be deleted.
Sorry, I checked the last week or so and didn't see the item.

I understand that Firefly fans want to see more of that series in terms of movies, comic books, novelizations, etc and I fully support all of that. However, fans who want to see Angel and Spike again don't have years to wait their turn. Both actors have expressed concerns over their age and how long they can realistically play a vampire before its too late for them. I agree with zeitgeist in that the slayer can wait since SMG is still quite young.
To be honest I think David Boreanaz looks a bit older than he does when he started Buffy- that is almost nine years ago now. If there is much more delay then I don't think he will be believable as a vampire.

The Firefly cast could actually work just as believably when they are older, it would make them seem more battleworn and world weary.

Personally I hope Serenity is a big success, and if there are two more Firefly films it would be great, but if a project involving Angel or Spike doesn't get going within the next three to five years it will be too late. However I think Buffy will still have potential as there aren't age limits on most of the main characters.

I still think there are still a lot of unexplored concepts. I think the Tales of the Slayers novels and comic book would definately suit a miniseries or feature film, for example. Fray could work as a film also.

Agreed, he does look older, but the key is to look about the same he did as in angel season five, I thought Boreanze was a little overweight that season, had a injury at the start, but when I saw him at halloween 2004, look refreshed, and younger then Angel in season five, so I recon they can pull it off, he won't be doing a weekly series which wears you down, a movie wouldn't be in such a rush, and he'll have time to properly prepare for the fights and stuff.

Psuedopod
Boreanaz has stated he'll return to Angel if it was done in a big feature film type way, hence a bigger challenge.

I think Fray would make a dynamite feature and I wouldn't rule it out as a possibility. It got sci-fi, its got Slayers and Vamps and its not what the studios would term 'bogged down in continuity'.
I would love an Angel movie more than my grandparents. Please let there be an Angel movie with David and the rest of season 5 cast. We're all going to die and I don't want my life to have been lived without an Angel movie.
