I apologize in advance for asking, especially if this comment isn't "thoughtful" enough but I really am curious and since you and I go way back eddy fantastico but how is Freddie Prinze Jr. a verse familiar? I mean other then the obvious connection of being married to SMG. But Alan Tudyk and Gina Torres from Firefly and Serenity sure, Donald Sutherland from Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie, but Freddie Prinze Jr. anything more involved then SMG hubby? I mean if that connects you to the verse then why isn't more stuff about Laurence Fishburne (sp.?) reported, I mean he is Gina Torres' husband is he not (just one example off the top of my head, I'm sure there's more out there)? Unless there's some connection between Freddie and the verse I'm missing I'd go out on a limb and say that may be stretching it in my book... Although not many seem to like my book so it's ok. Nothing meant to offend eddy, you know you're still more than A-OK to me, just posing the question to see what others think on the matter. I'm not here to fight, just to love my fellow whedonesquers, which I do. Most of you anyways... ;)

Since he was in a pilot on ABC I figured if I was linking to ABC pilots it would make sene to mention him since he is a verse familiar. All the rumors(false? I don't know?) of him playing Dracula in Buffy season 5, the "article" at the end of season 7 about SMG not being appreciated. I said familiars purposely because FPJ isn't a verse vet, he's a familiar.

And I don't know, maybe some people would like to know FPJ is still pretending he's a actor. :)

I wasn't going to link at first cause no pictures there like in the Fox preview. But I hadn't seen any posts about Alan Tudyk having a pilot.

Quite possibly the funniest thing I've read/seen all night due to its honesty. I guess I do fall into that category of "some people." I was suprised indeed so touche' sir eddy IV. Point taken. And you're right I didn't know about Alan Tudyk having a pilot so I do appreciate that insight as well.

Dont think you are reading it right, the way I read it it is about him living in a household full of women.

I tend to cut Freddie some slack based on the simple calculation that as long as he's good enough for SMG, thats good enough for me, but this does sound like standard tv filler, he seems to have worked on a couple of small films while SMG was busy promoting the Grudge, be interesting to see what kind of critical reception (and release) they get.

SMG and Freddie seems too have managed to put a wide space between their professional careers since the adventures of the cartoon dog, makes a lot of sense to me.

Is it just me, or do a lot of those pilots on that list sound really, really bad? The only thing that has my attention so far is Soccer Moms, and that's usually the kind of show I would hate. I just hate sitcoms and procedurals more.

LOL, miranda, thank you. Thinking of the hacky-sac performance piece in She's All That...you may be right. Although, while typically a snob about such fare, I have to admit, I didn't mind that movie as much as I expected to. (Could have been that it blocked out the shrieking Disney-bound Children of the Corn that shared my flight to Anaheim.)

I'll give Freddie a shot (one shot) if his pilot's picked up.

It makes me sad that the best looking shows (so far) are coming from Fox, and you just KNOW that they are all going to get cancelled. Why is it that tripe like "Joey" can stay on the air and quality TV like "Wonderfalls" and "Firefly" get cancelled before they even get started? Maybe someone could call up ABC and pretend to be a FOX exec and trade shows? ABC nurtures thier shows a lot longer. FOX can have the rights to "Adopted" and "Emily's Reasons Why Not" and ABC can get the rights to "Wonderfalls" and "Firefly". Seems fair to me!

You're right, Genia, FOX seems to have a higher percentage of shows that would be worth watching. The only ABC shows that interested me were the ones with Gina Torres and Alan Tudyk, and that's just because they're in them. After all, I started watching "Firefly" as much because I liked the previous work of Nathan and Jewel as because the premise sounded good - not having become an initiate of Jossdom at the time.

And I'm in the process of watching the last two episodes of "Wonderfalls" on the DVD set I bought on the recommendation of Whedonesquers and I cannot believe it was cancelled after only four episodes. What were they thinking??

I, too, have only two episodes left to view and this one little show has evoked more emotion out of me in the eleven episodes that I have watched than the entire load of bunk on TV now. Ugh. I hate the way TV is headed. Can't we do direct to DVD programming yet?

Although we are (for the most part) amongst friends, secret handshake, flan password and all. None the less we must be careful what we say because some arn't like us.

I do look at you as a peer and agree with you completely though, so while you're checking I fully support you on the topic - freddie is a cyborg, model FPJ-100. Look out for him opposite of Arnold as T-100 in T4. (Coming to a theater near you on a Summer sometime...)

SNT: I'm not trying to start an argument at all. Not. Hands in the air, backing away slowly, but - please explain how Plecky's comment was offensive? It seemed like an equally tongue-in-cheek response to Miranda's already cheeky comment about FPJ's botdom.

I'm sorry, but am I the only one who thinks Freddie Prinze, Jr. is a talent-less hack? I refer to him as "the black hole," because he somehow sucks all the talent out of the people he's on screen with. Even when he was on "The Brak Show With Brak, Starring Brak," or whatever it was called, his scene was awful. He managed to suck the charisma out of an animated character!

Not trying to start any garbage here, but I don't get why he still gets work, and there are other, more talented actors who will never see work.

Rant over.

That being said, who is surprised that other networks are trying to find their own "Desperate Housewives" or "LOST?" This "Fathom" is looking like an attempt at "LOST." Seemingly unrelated characters are united through one big mystery. I'm sure there will be plenty of twists.
