Jeffrey Bell wrote and directed tonight's Alias.
Well at least the first half, titled "The Descent". Part of a 2 hour broadcast. His last installment for this season.

Maybe I'm just seeing Buffiness where there really isn't any, but there was more than one moment tonight when I thought, "Wow, that's so Buffy."

I thought both parts were fantastic!

But, fantastic! oh, the weepy. I'm normally a Sydney/Sark shipper, but I think I'm switching sides again (I used to ship Sydney/Vaughn way back when).
And oh the plot twisty goodness. Sloan: to be evil or not to be? That is the question. I can't believe they had me changing my mind about him. And then changing my mind again, and then changing it back. What a roller coaster ride.
Damn, this season is actually getting better and better. And looking back on it, I think it just might be the best since season 1. Kudos!

I'd guess the turning point was either the two-parter with Sark and Anna Espanosa, or more likely The Index (the one where Syd and Dixon investigated Sloane.) Really, other than that terrible episode with the little helicopter with machine guns and the meh one where Dixon tried to infiltrate a terrorist group, the second half of the season has been very good.
I actually prefered the first half of yesterday's episode (Jeff Bell's) over the second half. I do appreciate all the continuity that has been coming up in the last few episodes though.

It feels very much as though J.J. has left the building. They completely jettisoned the Rambaldi plot and instead each week became the search for some weapon and then they hammer us over the heads by suddenly turning around and forcing the Rambaldi stuff down our throats.
I cannot stand Nadia, fail to believe that any of these people would willingly work for Sloane, have basically castrated Jack, sent us on a wild goose chase with Vaughn's father, and I fail to believe that Elena would just casually wait a decade to make her move, instead biding her time by posing as the head of an orphanage. Last night's "break in" at the DSR was laughably lame: one security guard and a chain-link fence are protecting all the Rambaldi items?!? Please. I am so over this show...
Firefly Fanatic, why would you think that this is the best season ever?

I'm not looking to change your opinion or argue but you kind of challenged me at the end of your post to explain myself. It's not just me who thinks it's one of the best seasons. ESG up above also said that too. Does she need to explain her feelings too? And maybe I'm wrong but most of the other people posting in this thread seem to like this season too.
