Firefly joins SCI FI Friday line-up. A Stargate site promotes Firefly joining the Sci-fi line-up!

I know there is nothing new regarding news but Stargate has a huge following so I'm pleased to see this announcement on one of their fan sites! I'm hoping this will entice fans of that show to check out Firefly (if they aren't already fans already).

For those of you not in the US - Sci-fi has been getting great ratings on Friday nights with it's line-up of Stargate Sg-1, Stargate Atlantis and BSG so hopefully those viewers will decide to tune in an hour early to catch Firefly.

And Mods wasn't sure if this was just re-hashing old news or if it was good to post because of the exposure on other sci-fi websites so I figured I'd post it anyway but will understand if it gets deleted.

Gorram Shiny! :)
Episodes begin on July 22, two episodes on July 29? Somone please tell me SciFi is not going to broadcast Firefly in the stupid-FOX-tricks order--starting with "The Train Job"? Please?
Maeve, Serenity parts 1&2 might very well be considered the two episodes. In the commentary for Serenity, Joss said that he created a cutoff point halfway through to be used for airing it in two segments. Let's hope that's it.
Since it's taking the 7 p.m. time slot and the two hours on the 29th are 6 and 7 I'm thinking on the 22nd they will show Serenity pt 1 and on the 29th they will show Serenity pt 1 at 6 and Serenity pt 2 at 7 so that people who miss the 22nd and hear what a great show it is can get caught up on the 29th.

This is just speculation...

That's what happens with the Firefly reruns on the Sci Fi channel in the UK. Serenity part one ends when Mal discovers River in the box.
Unrelated...Kaylee's going to be a Wraith!?! Say it ain't so!!!
Excellent news! I almost lost faith with SCI FI after that bone-headed move with 'Farscape'. Then, they finally answered with the 'Peacekeeper Wars' series. Not perfect, but at least they acknowledge it. The new 'Battlestar Galactica' series won me over again. The WB and Fox should take lessons from SCI FI.

Well, not really... I'm still kinda pissed with them for booting the show runner from Andromeda towards the end of season 2 and turning it into "Hercules in space". It was such a good show (not Firefly class or anything but still) with interesting characters and then all of a sudden it was ridiculously much centered around the most boring character in the show and it just became painful to watch. Never even managed to finish season 3 and I haven't looked back since.

Anyway, it's a great spot for Firefly.
I too was sad about what happened to Andromeda, it started off with such promise and good characters. But I don't think Sci Fi was to blame, the show was made in syndication. Sci Fi merely aired it.

I'm excited about them showing Firefly, and the potential to get more interest for Serenity this way! The show sells itself, people just need to watch it.
Yeah Andromeda was still in syndication back then.
I'm also one that liked Andromeda at first but then it just got really, really bad. I thought it was a show that had promise. Can't blame Sci-fi for that though.
Fair enough I guess... But still, someone fired the first showrunner and I'm very unhappy about that. Someone is to blame atleast.
