Brett Matthews Talks Serenity Comic Book Mini-Series. Want to know more about the three issue prequel to the BDM? Then read what the co-writer has to say. "It's funny, it's tragic, it's thrilling, it's sexy, it's uplifting and it's depressing-- all at the same time."

Great find Simon! These folks really know how to tease and please their fans, especially Mr. Matthews' responses to questions concerning Blue Sun, Book and River. I missed out on both pre-screenings, but being left home on 'prom night' was made very bearable with all the excellent, enthusiastic posts by those who did attend. My decision to remain unspoiled (beyond what's revealed in official interviews and media like this comic) is affirmed once again.

Just a thought, should this link perhaps have a spoiler tag on it, for those who've not seen the tv series yet?

(minor grammar errors corrected, hopefully no one noticed or are too nice to say so!)

Appreciate your concern, gorramit. Spoiler guidelines are offered on the Whedonesque About page, which states that

"Anything already aired on North American television is fair game and doesn't have to be *labelled* as a spoiler, but try to describe your post in such a way that it's clear to viewers in other countries what is being discussed in the thread."

So, no spoiler warning necessary, but sometime additional clarification can be helpful. I think it was clear from the context here that the link might make mention of the TV series.
Thanks for the clarification, SNT; I should know better than to question you folks ;-)

I shall brush up on the posting guidelines...honest, I really did read them before requesting a user account!
I am so pumped about this comic. I'm not that great a fan of the medium because it so often is not done terribly intelligently (okay, I may be a little out of date here, so sue me . . .). but the art previews are starting to turn me on. (I've also noticed that the books I've checked out are weighed down by advertising, sometimes on every righthand page. Bahhh!)

Thanks Simon!
Drifter, you can avoid ad interruptions if you wait for the trade paperback collection of the monthly issues. Sometimes, very rarely but sometimes, there'll be an ad or two at the back of a collection. But for the most part it's just the story straight through, plus all the covers and maybe some sketch, interview, and commentary material packed in as extras at the end.

But who knows when the collection will be out if you wait for it. I'd hold out for it, but I wanna make sure I read the Serenity comic story as a prequel before I see the film.
