Firefly Box at Barnes & Noble. The Firefly DVD box set is now $34.98 with free 3 day shipping at Barnes & Noble's website. If you are a B&N member the price drops to $31.48 with the same shipping deal.

Make up a holiday and buy a set for yourself or someone who has yet to experience the joy and wonder of the FF 'verse. Shiny!

As for myself, I have already begun to "spread the signal" by buying FF boxes (not at B&N though) to friends which do not know the series but could be interested (they're Buffy and Angel fans).

I think it is best than "discoursing" (=boring them) two hours about how good the show is and how good the movie will be. ;)
i paid $33.94 for my set from amazon (and if you choose a favorite site to click thru, say, whedonesque, you help your friends as well), by choosing the shipping method of slow boat by way of china.

once it gets here (early june, not that far off) i plan on having a viewing party or two. day long marathons of as much firefly as we can fit in.

i had no clue before the first screening. now i'm totally in love with the whole thing. i shall proselytize to my friends. and offer food, that'll get them to show up.
I think $34.99 was how much I paid for Firefly on amazon.com when it was released. I do wish I had an extra $40 right now so I could buy another and give it as a gift, or have it as a loaner copy.
I just bought a set at Amazon last week for $34.99. It should be on it's way. I'm getting it for my brother-in-law's 40th birthday. He's a huge Star Trek and Star Wars fan and I'm hoping to get him hooked on Firefly so he can spread the joy to all his ST & SW friends!
Good work all, keep spreading the love :) If I could bear to part with my discs again (they've hardly been in my hands all year), I'd have convert number 14. Ah, well, I'll make one of my other converts lend it to him.
I work at a bricks and mortar B&N. You can actually get a better deal with the current promotion going on in store. Until the end of June, if you buy 2 DVDs, you get the 3rd one free. Box sets are already 10% off, and if you're a member, you get the additional 10%.

So:
$49.98 list price times 2 = $99.96 (assuming you pick items around the same price, or better yet, 3 copies of Firefly)
$99.96 minus 10% for box sets = $89.96
$89.96 minus another 10% if a member = $80.97
$80.97 divided by 3 = $26.99 cost for each DVD plus tax

Even if you're not a member, it costs you $29.99 per DVD for three box set DVDs that originally had $49.98 price points.

Nice and thanks for the heads up, HiddenSky :) I may swing by on e of my local B&M B&Ns tommorow and buy a spare copy of the 'verse's best box.
Hm, now I can like B&N again. I was so afraid they'd put my favorite local bookstore out of business I haven't gone there much. The great bookstore survived, so cool happy ending for everyone.
I just got an e-mail from Amazon saying my "shipment" is delayed. It's going to be coming a few days later so I'm wondering if there is a lot of Firefly sets being sold that they have to order more. Didn't this happen after the first screening?
Firefly Flanatic, I did read here that sales went up after the trailer was released and the first round of previews took place, but I didn't verify the comment. I believe it though, because they certainly created much fantasitic buzz.
Hopefully that's true! The more buzz like that will only help make people more curious and want to see what it's all about!
