A New Channel For Couch Potatoes. TV.com (a revamped TVtome.com, relaunched Thursday) boasts information about 2,500 TV series dating to the 1940s, including plot summaries for most episodes aired during that period. It includes video trailers, biographies of characters and actors, and tools to let users communicate by writing reviews and chatting in message boards." The site places Firefly 8th in their top 10 shows.

I've been looking through this, and it looks really cool. It looks pretty doggone comprehensive. Just checking through, I looked at Buffy's first ep and the original Battlestar Galactica's first ep, and there were lists of goofs, trivia, quotes, etc. You can log on with you Gamespot login and track your shows, post reviews, talk in forums, etc.

This seems to have a chance to be the definitive place to go for TV stuff online. I don't want to exaggerate or indulge in any hyperbole, or repeat myself by being redundant, and I certainly don't want to be obvious and just state what's right in front of our faces.

Not sure where I'm going with that, but anyway, check it out.

I'm not sure how the "friends" thing works, but my name is brother_grady, of course, on the site.
TVtome.com is still working as well.
Yeah, I was curious about that, as I didn't see anything about it on TVTome.com. Will it be phased out or what?
Some of the material on older shows seems to have been copied across wholesale from TV Tome, but there are more categories.
I'm hoping that as more, ah, discerning fans of shows find the site, that the ratings will be more accurate. It looks like the Whedonverse fans know what's up, since their ratings are high, but when I was on, Boomtown's collective rating was 4.7 -- What the Hell?
I've combined your link and Guestage Drew's together.
It reports Buffy's status as "Cancelled". Grrr......
"It reports Buffy's status as "Cancelled". Grrr...... "

Technically it was. In response to SMGs decision following Joss' previous decision to call it a day, 20th century fox decided not to continue production and cancelled it. All shows are cancelled when they end, its just people normally associate ended because of bad ratings with the word cancelled, where in reality bad ratings is one of several causes of cancellation.
Still, there is a negative connotation that comes along with the term "cancelled". After all, the show ended because SMG wanted it too, not because the ratings were bad. I understand zzg's frustration
SMG only wanted not to play Buffy anymore not to stop the show.

Blake's 7 (from the BBC) continued without the title character for 2 seasons.

Seinfeld, Friends, MASH, Star Trek, The Jeffersons, etc. ALL have cancelled next to their names, and they have made millions. Gotta let it go, gotta let it go, lol.
Don't really know if I like the site's new structure, it's pretty, but heavier.
I kinda liked the old tvtome, clean and simple design, despite all the info flaws they're known for.
I'm with Numfar PTB. I still like the old site better. I think part of it has to do with the placement of the advertising in more prominent spots. It was easy to ignore on the old site. Lots more "white" space too. This isn't as easy to navigate. Prettier, I guess, but, not as useful.
