Regarding Mr & Mrs. Smith. Review of the movie, comparing Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's onscreen relationship and chemistry to Buffy & Spike, amongst other "iconic TV and comic book characters".

*giggles evilly*

I really want to see that movie. Probably won't be good for my ego (I doubt I'll be able to look in a mirror for a few weeks afterward..) but I'll be damned if I'm going to miss seeing Brad & Angelina go all Spike & Buffy on a cinema-size screen...
Tell me about it. I was interested before I saw the Spike & Buffy comparisons. Now? I have to see this one.
Brad and Angelina are the hottest people in Hollywood...I think the cast is brilliant. And now that I am legal, I can go see the movie without my mom to make it awkward!
There is deffinatly something about her. Him, I am not so much into. The whole blonde thing.=(

She is an incrediable action hero, it will be intresting to see him, and see if he keeps up.
I saw the trailer last week and the film looks like fun ! Nice comparison !
I also think this looks like a fun movie and am more intrigued now by the "Buffy & Spike" comparison. I think they are both extremely beautiful people. I think he is someone who has gotten hotter as he got older, and you know, he played a vampire once in some little movie so he can't be too bad! And have to agree with FalenAnjil, him as a blonde doesn't do it for me. Maybe it's for another role but I like his normal color much better!
Torn. Brad and Jen lover, excited beyond current boundaries by Angelina. I completely get her way with men. She was featured in a nice Vanity Fair article last month, describing her feelings on... serial monogomy. eeeeee!
I can pretty much guarentee you that the scene in the film with Brad and Angelina in their house destroying it while trying to kill eachother is gonna be just like the ending of Smashed. First some major fistacuffs, then some hot sex. So predictable.
This will probably end up on my Netflix list, but I'm more intrigued that Buffy and Spike are used as cultural icons with the implication that everyone will recognized them, as well known as Batman and Catwoman and Brad and Angelina.

Yes, BP deffinatly got better looking as he got older. And facial does not hurt the guy.

There is always something about women who are so sure of themselves sexually. Society likes to call them sluts, but in reality they are at a comfort level with themselves inside and out, that few of us ever achieve. Of course it does not hurt to look like that or have those lips.
"Of course it does not hurt to look like that or have those lips."

:D :D :D
I knew Buffy & Spike. Buffy & Spike were friends of mine. You, Mr & Mrs Smith, are no Buffy & Spike.
Hmmm, 'Twisty, Flirty and violent'? Sorta hope this is an over exageration for I've been hyped to see this movie (mainly cause ya know...), but twisted and violent in the Buffy/Spike sense? Not too keen on that.

Ah, sari, quoting from "Olive the Other Reindeer." Excellent!
What's that you say? Olive wasn't your source material? Never mind. It's still funny. And dead right too. I care not a whit for either Brad or Angelina.
Well, I don't have pictures of them hanging on my wall or anything, but I like Brad and Angelina. Skipping over that whole Troy disaster that is. Though his thighs looked damn good.

I've been casually looking forward to this movie, but it's not a Must See in Theater thing.

Honestly, I'm far more likely to swoon over Angelina than Brad. The gossip columnist on Eonline asks celebrities who their same-sex dream person is, and the women said Angelina so often, that he no longer allows that as an answer. (The things I read when I'm having trouble focusing at work. Oh well.) Cliche, I know, but that woman is stunning.
NYCHICK can we keep ship preference out of the discussion.
Well, I have to say that I find Angelina the hottest woman in the world and definitely hotter than SMG. Only ED comes close to her.
It is the eyes and mouth on both. And the walk. They way both AJ and ED walk is hot! All attitude.

I don't think saying you found Spike and Buffy violent and twisted is shipper thing. It is personal preference on what you saw and liked on the show. You don't have to be a shipper to not like that sort of stuff. Some didn't like smashed or the implications that came from beating and then sleeping with each other. And since this article about the movie says these things in its comparison, she is just saying she does not like that kind of stuff. I agree. I will watch becasue I love AJ, but I am not big on twisted, hate filled and violent.
Am I the only straight male around who doesn't go nuts for that Jolie woman? Eh...

I like the concept behind this film, though it sounds familiar, for some reason.
"I don't think saying you found Spike and Buffy violent and twisted is shipper thing"

FalenAnji ,it depends on your reason for saying it.And yes I know some people didn't like it for reasons unconnected to ship preference.
Then why assume that statement was a shipper thing, then just a matter of preference?
GARDA, um, why would you assume that because I'm not keen to seeing the Mr. and Mrs. Smith dynamics played out as that of Buffy and Spike to be a shipper thing? It's simply a matter of what I like and don't like. Secondly, did you read my mind? How would you know my reasons for saying it??

I have loved Angelina ever since Lara Croft. She is amazingly beautiful, smart, and does dozens of charities to help children.
"How would you know my reasons for saying it??"

You know my reasons for saying it.
I do? Sadly I lack your abilities of the mind reading.

Moving onwards... Brad with any hair color works for me. He looked hot even when his face was covered in bushy caveman hair.
"He looked hot even when his face was covered in bushy caveman hair."

Was that in Kalifornia, or were there other roles with him lookin shaggy? I thought Kalifornia was one of his best roles earlier on in his career. Showed he wasn't just a face. The whole cast of that film was great actually, with Juliette Lewis, David Duchovny, and Michelle Forbes.

It could end up being a total mess, but I think Mr. and Mrs. Smith, at the very least, looks like genuine blockbuster fun.
I'm failing to understand the dispute going on here. I thought nychick's original comment was quite unrelated to shipping; be that as it may, I'd really prefer that people didn't start sniping at one another in their comments. Thanks.

And SlackJawedVampireHunter? I believe I was the first straight male to express my indifference towards Ms. Jolie here. :)

Anyway, nothing is quite so much a matter of taste as hotness. Give me SMG any day.
Kris... not sure if the bush caveman hair was for Kalifornia, but not that far back, he was sporting that look. Hmmm, or maybe I'm confusing that with a Brad look-alike who sported the bushy hair thing in Spain, or some country. Dunno. Memory is lethargic at times.
I HATE spke and Buffy. It ruined the show for me so I'm not going to see anything that compares.
And I'm watching a clip now on tv. It goes really slow. They dwell on the house blowing up way longer than necessary. You don't need to look at fire for 30 seconds to realize it's bright. Part of what made Whedon shows great is how fast things moved.
God, it is to bad they had to ruin the second Tomb raider. Brad needs facial, and to smile. Serious look is not good for him. As a matter of hotness though, give me Ed any day.

I think this movie will be fun, if you go into just to see a fun movie, looking for anything else will kill the movie.
Ed? As in Norton or am I way off? Oh and yeah, I agree. My initial reason to want to see it cause it's the infamous movie in which the Brad/Angelina love affair begain *she says scandalized*

I'm curious to see the chemistry between the two. The media seems to be making a bunch of noise about it lately.
I think it is because of all the photos and how very careful in all their interviews they are being. They certainly are not Tom Cruz and Katie Holmes, screaming it to the world.

Eliza Dushku, ny=)

Cruise. Tom Cruise. Cruz is Penelope.
I think both of these actors are two of the hottest stars to date. But, I have to admit, this movie looks absolutely horrible. I am a little more interested now that their chemistry is compared to Buffy and Spike's. I'll wait and see how many tomatoes it gets, then I'll decide if I want to watch it. I'm hoping this isn't another True Lies...I'm tired of movie's plots being recycled.
I am thinking more War of the roses and spy vs. spy, but with hotter actors.
What? SoddingNancyTribe has beaten me to the punch? Woe and misery! I'll just have to find a new unpopular cause to champion. How about... um... eating children? Yeah, that'll do.

He was growing that hideous beard for his role in The Fountain (which he has since dropped out of in favor of Troy).
SlackJawedVampireHunter, and SNT.

Angelina Jolie, is the sexiest woman in Hollywood, except Eliza Dushku and Morena Baccarin! I cant put my finger on why I think that, but there is just something about her, which totally oozes sex appeal. I just think she is a total goddess! (But i also think that about the whole of the Buffy Cast:)!)
I specifically enjoy reading the critics that mention how ugly they feel when they leave the cinema, even by Hollywood standards there are some truly aweinspiring genetics on display in this film.

Really enjoyed 'Prizzis Honour' with Jack N. as a somewhat dimwitted Mafia hitman, the ads for this film makes me want to rewatch.
I think I like both AJ and BP, but I've just realised that I've actually seen very few films with either actor in them. I've seen one film with AJ, and only about 3 or 4 with BP. I think I'm so used to seeing pictures of them both on magazine covers etc that I've convinced myself I've seen more. Brad's acting reminds me a lot of Keanu Reeves I have to say. Both pretty, but don't really rate their acting chops much. As for AJ, she's one of those women that I don't really think is beautiful as such, but she's definitely sexy. If that makes sense. I'll maybe give this film a go, and the Buffy/Spike comparison has made me a little bit more curious.
I think Brad is a better actor than Keanu. Seven, Fight Club, and 12 monkeys are my basis for that. While I can't really think of anything Keanu has done that made me think "wow". Kicking ass in Matrix doesn't count.
I just saw the commercial and a AJ/BP kissing scenes, and it looks pretty hot.
Yeah...but was it up against the wall....bringing the house down....6 hours straight Spike and Buffy type sex... HOT?
Somehow I just don't think Brad and Angelina or anyone else will ever come close to THAT...at least not for me. However I am intrigued now that this onscreen relationship and chemistry is being compared to Spike and Buffy's 'iconic' one. If Brad and Angelina have as much 'sizzle ' as James and Sarah had together I may have to check this flick out.....
Hehehe.. *more evil giggling*

Here is something that was reported on the IMDB a few days ago:

Angelina Jolie dumbfounded 'Mr. And Mrs. Smith' director Doug Liman with her eagerness to make sex scenes in the movie as eye-watering as possible. Liman instructed the sexy 29-year-old to perform the kinkiest sex acts he could think of, just to shock her - but none of his suggestions were new to the saucy star. He says, "I suggested she should perform the most graphic, crazy sex act I could imagine for the love scene just to try to shock her. Like 10 steps beyond anything I'd consider doing in my own life. She starts furrowing her brows. I'm like, 'Oh, never heard of that one?' She's like, 'No, actually I'm just trying to figure out whether I've done that one.'"

It's wrong, I know.. perverted and wrong.. but I'm SO looking forward to seeing this movie. ;D
Here's another thing, they do a tango dance in Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Tru Lies anyone?
...Like Buffy and Spike only not as deep. ;)
SNT:

If I'm not mistaken, sari is parodying Lloyd Bentsen's putdown of Dan Quayle in the 1988 Vice Presidential debate (substitute "Jack Kennedy" for "Buffy and Spike.)

Still trying to get my brain around the idea of why we should love a pair of paid assassins, though, regardless of how pretty they are. Will pass this one up for certain.
Yeah, not really a movie that has any real sunstance. Anything that is about trying to kill each other and then sleeping with each other is a deffiant pass. Even the reviewer here says it is twisted and violent. Honestly any couple that needs that kind of twisted sickness to make passion is not anything that can ever be considered positve. I will stick to more positve emotions and worthwhile movies. Even if I do like Her.

Well, I sorta did know that, which is why I added the "Olive wasn't your source material?" line. Just prefer to hear the line said in the penguin voice, rather than Bentsen's. I'm odd like that.

And Apocalypse, thanks for setting me straight on the Angelina Jolie and Sexiest Woman in Hollywood thing. I see that I was straying in the wilderness, horribly misguided; now I have seen the light. Halleberrah!
Brad Pitt is a pretty decent actor. I think he made his initial mark playing crazies, but hey, he did it well. Who can't love Floyd in True Romance? Ok, it was a very small part. I'd think about the script he has to work with before judging his acting.
The Spike/Buffy comparison makes me want to watch it, if I can get past my Jennifer Anniston sorrow.
SlackJawedVampireHunter - plot of the movie does sounds familiar- very similar to Prizzi's Honor
