Alyson Hannigan Starring In An Untitled Romantic Comedy. Adam Campbell will also star. Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg are writing and directing. Regency Enterprises (FOX to you and me) is distributing. No plot details yet.

Seltzer and Friedberg are responsible for Scary Movie and Spy Hard. I wouldn't be surprised if we got a cross between There's Something About Mary and ... well Scary Movie.

I'm thrilled for Alyson and will watch anything she does, but why is her husband not working? His work was the best on Angel, which is not faint praise, cause IMHO the whole cast was great. Is he taking time off, or are casting directors that obtuse?
I remember reading a convention report where he said he's focusing on being with Aly instead of being on a set.
Yes! Go Aly! Hopefully this will help get her casted in more leading roles and less sidekick friend roles.
Well, If I was married to Aly, I'd focus on her too. :)
Yay... Regency movies are usually pretty big ones so no limited release here. Way to go, Aly!
No offense meant to Alexis, but I think it's safe to say that he just didn't want to admit that he's not being offered work. Having just finished with 'Angel', his profile was at a level which he would have wanted to take advantage of while it lasted. I love him, but he's not a young guy in Hollywood terms. Of course I'm sure he does want to spend time with his wife. But I find it hard to believe he wouldn't rather be working in addition to that. It's not like he'd have to commit himself to a long-running television show either. Movies, plays, guest roles etc are not long-term commitments.

It's possible ... I guess. Though I really wouldn't worry. A man of his talents shouldn't really have that much problems getting work. Maybe Steve Trevor(?) in WW.
I would imagine he is dealing with a similar thing James Marsters has been dealing with. "No, I am not British, though I can play a Brit." He had pretty much no history in Hollywood, so he is having to make himself known for who he is, not just Wesley. It may take a little while, but it will happen. He is a talented, attractive guy.
Go Alyson! Honestly she is my favorite buffy-verse star and I agree with jaynelovesvera I plan on watching all her projects, except for set it off but that's another story - I'm really glad she's pursuing pure comedy for awhile too. She's brilliant!

Between this leading role and her pilot getting picked up it sounds like a well-deserved great year for Aly.
Shooting starts Monday -- wow, that's a rather sudden announcement. Though I would imagine Aly's sitcom schedule would demand a fairly quick wrap for the movie.

Hey, it's got Fred Willard in it -- always a good sign.
