A New Buffy/Angel Movie Campaign.
Whedonverse.org features an interview about the campaign for a big screen Buffy/Angel movie.
I tend to think Joss will stick to movies. Think of seeing this on the big screen! After seeing what he did for Serenity, I want the same treatment for the buffyverse.
But I also believe anything in this universe is many years off.

We've recently raised enough to send a complete set to the Playa Vista Branch library in the Los Angeles area and are working on getting a set in the Horicon Public Library in Wisconsin. Then we'll be sending a few care packages to soldiers stationed in Iraq and/or Afghanistan.
We'll be doing at least one other interview with a fan campaign in the coming weeks with Spike fans. So, we will have covered Faith, Buffy/Angel, and Spike. If you know of any other activities by fans to get more of the Whedonverse in the future, please feel free to contact me.
Note: The Buffy/Angel Movie campaign is being done by a group of B/A fans - it's not a Whedonverse.org campaign - we're just interviewing them, while promoting our new raffle. I added a sentence in the article to make that more clear.

I loved Buffy´s ending, and I loved Angel´s sudden one too.
There are characters with something to tell, Illyria, and maybe Faith, but I don´t want to see repetitions with well closed characters (for me, I think Spike was done in Chosen).
I´d say (like other times) go with Fray´s unexplored (and basically, the same) world.

Not what I understand by self-posting. FalenAnjil posted the link, which refers to killinj's website. That kind of referring takes place a lot on this site. The prohibition is on a member linking to his or her own site.
(And, of course, members can refer to their own sites, and even link to them, in their comments).
Hope that's clear.
Unless we suspect there's some kind of connection between FalenAnjil and killinj . . . ;)

Sort of "If you film him, the others will come." LOL!

Sweet, that's my library in Los Angeles, I was just there studying. When is the set supposed to arrive? I just finished watching all 7 seasons of buffy and i'm starting through angel and it would be nice to have the dvds instead of getting them through less legal methods.

Maybe I'm naive. It's been said before. *g*

Nevertheless, my previous, if slightly amended, final statement still stands:
I am so not interested in shipping wars taking place here at whedonesque. Any antagonistic post on the subject gets deleted. Thank you.

We'll place an order sometime this week, it could take a week or two to arrive at the library, then however long it takes for the staff to process the items and get them into circulation.

Is that normal? Most sites I go to, I don't get the chance to post too often, let you read the posts without being a member.
Just saw the last line of your post SoddingNancyTribe. I hope this post is okay. Don't mean to tread on toes or anything.

I kind of got the impression that by the closing scene in Chosen, Joss considered Faith as a member of the Scoobies. She also, like Anya, was in the private room when Buffy explained her plans. Personally I consider the bigger group as Scoobies and Buffy, Xander, Willow and Giles as the core-Scoobies.

I always thought Faith fit better on Ats. I really didn't like how she was written during S7 of Btvs. She seemed to have regressed too much from how she was over on Ats.
lynnie | July 14, 03:46 CET
I didn't interpret the interviewee's response as claiming that Faith was a Scoobie.
killinj | July 14, 03:59 CET
No, I meant in the room with Xander, Giles, Dawn, Faith, Anya and Willow. Spike was in the basement. I don't consider Spike a Scoobie.

Everybody regressed when they came from AtS to BtVS. And grown when they go from BtVS to AtS. It's the different nature between the two shows and hasn't much to do with Faith herself.
And I do consider Faith a Scoobie. I don't consider Kennedy a Scoobie though.

I think Faith especaily regressed from season 4 of Angel to season 7 of Buffy. That scene with Spike smacked of old Faith. Though she did show maturity when she did not hit Buffy back, when she stuck up for her and went after her.
I never considered Spike a scooby, as most dislike him and really had no interaction with them, after season 5.

Actually, the Faith campaign we interviewed before did mention Spike. Some were happy with his inclusion as a potential co-star and some were upset. It's the nature of the fandom. We all have our favorites.

However, I do cringe a bit when I hear about campaigns to continue the 'verse, with a bunch of caveats and restrictions. We'd like to see more of just this thing. We don't want that. I respect the opinions, but I'm more supportive of campaigns that just want the 'verse back, in whatever manner Joss sees fit.

Fans are certainly free to feel however they do about any of the show's characters -- that's our prerogative as people who've committed time and enthusiasm to someone's else's creation -- but they should also retain the awareness that those characters are and will remain Joss's, still and all.
He didn't "screw up" anything just because the storyline trajectories of some characters didn't develop the way some fans preferred them to. They originated in his mind. They are the children of his mind -- and believe me, you don't want to go telling a parent how to raise his or her kids. Especially if you don't have any of your own. Everyone can make up their own mind about the validity of this group's efforts, but it's true that fans come in all stripes. I personally only want to see positive energy around Joss's work, and support for all possibilities.

This is whedonesque, a site devoted to Joss Whedon's work, not to any sub-genre of shipping. Those members who don't appear to, or don't wish to, understand that will not be members for very much longer.
