A New Buffy/Angel Movie Campaign. Whedonverse.org features an interview about the campaign for a big screen Buffy/Angel movie.

I tend to think Joss will stick to movies. Think of seeing this on the big screen! After seeing what he did for Serenity, I want the same treatment for the buffyverse.

But I also believe anything in this universe is many years off.

Yeah! I love it when my itty bitty little spec of the 'net gets mentioned here! Please note the new raffle - when you enter for a chance to win a 12' Sideshow Angel action figure, you're also helping to get Buffy, Angel and Firefly into public libraries.

We've recently raised enough to send a complete set to the Playa Vista Branch library in the Los Angeles area and are working on getting a set in the Horicon Public Library in Wisconsin. Then we'll be sending a few care packages to soldiers stationed in Iraq and/or Afghanistan.

We'll be doing at least one other interview with a fan campaign in the coming weeks with Spike fans. So, we will have covered Faith, Buffy/Angel, and Spike. If you know of any other activities by fans to get more of the Whedonverse in the future, please feel free to contact me.

Note: The Buffy/Angel Movie campaign is being done by a group of B/A fans - it's not a Whedonverse.org campaign - we're just interviewing them, while promoting our new raffle. I added a sentence in the article to make that more clear.

Wee! Anything Buffyverse containing moving pictures is great in my book (except Game Boy games perhaps). As always I would prefer to get another series but if that's not possible a movie is almost much as good.
I think I´m the only one, but I prefer Buffy and Angel as a series.
I loved Buffy´s ending, and I loved Angel´s sudden one too.

There are characters with something to tell, Illyria, and maybe Faith, but I don´t want to see repetitions with well closed characters (for me, I think Spike was done in Chosen).

I´d say (like other times) go with Fray´s unexplored (and basically, the same) world.
I'll save any campaigns, and wait until Joss Himself decides to do something with it. He knows we're willing and waiting for something good, I don't see any need to put energy into reminding them.
Isn't this self posting
Isn't this self posting?

Not what I understand by self-posting. FalenAnjil posted the link, which refers to killinj's website. That kind of referring takes place a lot on this site. The prohibition is on a member linking to his or her own site.

(And, of course, members can refer to their own sites, and even link to them, in their comments).

Hope that's clear.

Unless we suspect there's some kind of connection between FalenAnjil and killinj . . . ;)
Correct me if I'm wrong but since when was Faith part of the Scoobies? Xander, Willow, Giles and Buffy sure were. But no-one else was. Not even Dawn or Tara, not properly. Faith wasn't in the show until S3. That was after Spike was in the show too wasn't it. Wonder why this campaign wants everyone but Spike. Isn't he one of the most popular characters, winning awards and polls and getting a lot of attention and stuff. You'd think that if you wanted a continuation of the verse in movies you'd have to start the ball rolling with the most popular character, which like I say seems to be Spike. Then after that the others would get made.

Sort of "If you film him, the others will come." LOL!

Sweet, that's my library in Los Angeles, I was just there studying. When is the set supposed to arrive? I just finished watching all 7 seasons of buffy and i'm starting through angel and it would be nice to have the dvds instead of getting them through less legal methods.

The url given leads to a site set up some time ago in an effort to stop any Spike movie being made. Spike fans need not apply. People should be aware that this is definitely a shipping site set up by people who are very bitter towards Joss, the character of Spike and the character's fans. I'm not sure how this falls into a Jossverse booster effort.
Wow! Why would anyone be bitter about a character? And Joss? He invented it all, why do they not like him? Sorry, does not compute.

Maybe I'm naive. It's been said before. *g*
(Edited) I now see ramses2's comment was directed at the link from whedonverse.org, not at whedonverse.org itself. Thanks for the clarification, lynnie.

Nevertheless, my previous, if slightly amended, final statement still stands:

I am so not interested in shipping wars taking place here at whedonesque. Any antagonistic post on the subject gets deleted. Thank you.

Sweet, that's my library in Los Angeles, I was just there studying. When is the set supposed to arrive?

We'll place an order sometime this week, it could take a week or two to arrive at the library, then however long it takes for the staff to process the items and get them into circulation.
Don't wish to speak for other posters, but I think that ramses 2 meant the link that was in the article. The one that links to the How's Forever? site. I clicked on it and it is a B/A type shipper site. I wanted to have a look around but you have to register to even read the posts.

Is that normal? Most sites I go to, I don't get the chance to post too often, let you read the posts without being a member.

Just saw the last line of your post SoddingNancyTribe. I hope this post is okay. Don't mean to tread on toes or anything.
The only thing I see on the site is that they support a Buffy/Angel relationship. To me that's not even close to say that it is an anti-Spike the movie site.
Correct me if I'm wrong but since when was Faith part of the Scoobies? Xander, Willow, Giles and Buffy sure were.

I kind of got the impression that by the closing scene in Chosen, Joss considered Faith as a member of the Scoobies. She also, like Anya, was in the private room when Buffy explained her plans. Personally I consider the bigger group as Scoobies and Buffy, Xander, Willow and Giles as the core-Scoobies.
So Kennedy's a Scoobie too? I dear I hope not. LOL! So I guess the first person Buffy told about her plan is also a Scoobie? I somehow don't think Spike would like that too much. Maybe one of "Angel's Avengers" he'd be one of them.

I always thought Faith fit better on Ats. I really didn't like how she was written during S7 of Btvs. She seemed to have regressed too much from how she was over on Ats.

I didn't interpret the interviewee's response as claiming that Faith was a Scoobie.
So I guess the first person Buffy told about her plan is also a Scoobie?

No, I meant in the room with Xander, Giles, Dawn, Faith, Anya and Willow. Spike was in the basement. I don't consider Spike a Scoobie.

Everybody regressed when they came from AtS to BtVS. And grown when they go from BtVS to AtS. It's the different nature between the two shows and hasn't much to do with Faith herself.

And I do consider Faith a Scoobie. I don't consider Kennedy a Scoobie though.
I don't like Kennnedy. To me she is much like Wood, not characters either Willow or Faith would ever or could ever be with long term.

I think Faith especaily regressed from season 4 of Angel to season 7 of Buffy. That scene with Spike smacked of old Faith. Though she did show maturity when she did not hit Buffy back, when she stuck up for her and went after her.

I never considered Spike a scooby, as most dislike him and really had no interaction with them, after season 5.
People got different things from the show. There's a large group that supports the Buffy/Angel ship because that is what they found compelling. Just like some like Spike's story and want that to continue. It's the same.
We are rapidly coming to an end to this entire thread. FalenAnjl, ramses 2 and anyone else wanting to keep this up, please do it offsite.
My apologies herb, to you and the board. FalenAnjil, please feel free to contact me.
Ooh, Nice campaign. If any continuation of the verse were to happen, I'd rather it be on the big screen where I'm sure Joss will be very much involved as appossed to the small screen where he might have one of his minions head the project. With that said, I don't see it happening at all (big screen and small screen Buffyverse project). Mr. Whedon has his plate rather full at the moment and by the time he's ready to make a movie, all the actors will be too old to revisit their characters or busy with their booming carreers.

Last time the Faith campaign was here, it did not mention Spike.

Actually, the Faith campaign we interviewed before did mention Spike. Some were happy with his inclusion as a potential co-star and some were upset. It's the nature of the fandom. We all have our favorites.
I wouldn't characterize an entire site based on one user's avatar. Everything else appears to be straight up Buffy/Angel romance oriented - which matches what they've openingly stated they want to see.
I'm with you, killinj, on not condemning the entire site for one avatar.

However, I do cringe a bit when I hear about campaigns to continue the 'verse, with a bunch of caveats and restrictions. We'd like to see more of just this thing. We don't want that. I respect the opinions, but I'm more supportive of campaigns that just want the 'verse back, in whatever manner Joss sees fit.
The question I find myself asking is, if Joss himself were to go to this site and read all the posts, would he feel supported in his vision for the Buffy/Angel-verse? If the answer is no, in any variation -- if the fans thereon are suggesting he impose their wishes on his efforts, or exclude this or that thing from the options he, as creator, should have to draw from -- then I have to say it appears these fans are just shouting to hear themselves, not to create any kind of reasonable dialogue with the one person who's in the most powerful position to make it happen.

Fans are certainly free to feel however they do about any of the show's characters -- that's our prerogative as people who've committed time and enthusiasm to someone's else's creation -- but they should also retain the awareness that those characters are and will remain Joss's, still and all.

He didn't "screw up" anything just because the storyline trajectories of some characters didn't develop the way some fans preferred them to. They originated in his mind. They are the children of his mind -- and believe me, you don't want to go telling a parent how to raise his or her kids. Especially if you don't have any of your own. Everyone can make up their own mind about the validity of this group's efforts, but it's true that fans come in all stripes. I personally only want to see positive energy around Joss's work, and support for all possibilities.
Unfortunately, I've had to delete or edit many of the posts in this thread. Despite being warned, first by me, then by herb, certain members just can't seem to restrain from posting intemperate, off-topic, and frankly juvenile comments.

This is whedonesque, a site devoted to Joss Whedon's work, not to any sub-genre of shipping. Those members who don't appear to, or don't wish to, understand that will not be members for very much longer.
