Brief Review of Serenity June 23 Screening in Charlotte. Check out his blog. No real spoilers but a report of what went on.

Could you possibly change the link to the actual page. It took some searching to find the blog. Nice to know his non-fan daughter liked it.
Sorry. Link fixed. Wasn't thinking. Which is normal.
Thats a good review. I was in Charlotte too and it was the most enjoyable film experience I've ever had*.

I'm sad that the next time I see this movie there will probably be people who don't understand Joss Whedon wit so will fail to laugh at all of the great jokes. I saw War Of The Worlds when it came out and since I was not surrounded by 200 fans(but rather 10 annoying teenagers) it just wasn't the same.

*this coming from someone who has never been to a convention or any other fan event so has nothing to compare the Serenity screening too.
That's why I envy those of you who got to see the movie now, with a room full of like minded fans! I so much worry about my Serenity experience being ruined by unruly teenagers yet I know I must go out and see the movie opening weekend to support the film. I went to see The Grudge on it's opening weekend and the audience was full of giggling, screaching, talking teenagers that it was very hard to enjoy the film. I was interested in seeing The Grudge because of SMG and that it looked good but it was no where near as important to me as it is seeing Serenity.

I might try and go to the latest showing of the night and possibly on a Sunday night (will that count towards the weekend box office?) to avoid the teenage crowd.

But I can only imagine how cool it must've been to be in an audience of people who just get it and want to be as quiet as possible to hear every bit of dialogue (of course when they aren't laughing at all the funny parts).
FF: I took 2 non-fans with me to the screening in Houston, and afterwards one of them said, "The humor was so funny. I didn't expect that." I gestured back toward the rest of the theater and said, "That's why all these people are here. They love this humor."
